That in itself is a snag. Any metal that will graft to bone is non-ferrous and Magneto should've had no effect on his skeleton.

I don't think its grafted as much as became infused within the bone, making the bone fully metallic.

Either that or the metal strips became porous & leeched into his bones.

Apparently, the adamantium is in his bone marrow, so whenever he regenerates, the adamantium does too.

But a ferrous metal would oxidize and rust. He'd be weak as a kitten from constantly regenerating, I would think. It's like his body would be fighting an infection and his immune system would be in hyperdrive.
Only ferrous metal is magnetic or affected by magnetism.

The 70% vote has it, which correlates to the ORIGIINS SOURCE MATERIAL and aftermath of when Magneto ripped the adamantium from him before Apocalypse enhanced the bio-engineering process when he regained it, later.

Yea, case closed:

I always read that it was from In between his knuckles. And also that he bleeds a little ever time he does it.

Even the comic contradicted itself! One comic had Wolverine at the airport and put his arm through the X-Ray machine and the way it looked was they would come through his knuckles. But his gloves would show that they come from the back of his hands.

If they came from the back of his hands that would basically rip out of his hands, but between his knuckles that might give some kind of support.

Pandemic was a mofo wasn’t it?
Sure was.

Maybe we should make a comic book theory thread.

Cause I'm still mad that Marvel won't admit the chaos magic of the DC Universe is what made her go crazy (again) & delete all the mutants.

And I still don't get where the plasma for the Green Lantern (and the other Lanterns as well) come from.

And I just re-read JLA/Avengers...and I don't understand why Barry Allen couldn't generate the Speed Force in the Marvel Universe. Wally, yes, but Barry is the actual generator of Speed Force every time he moves. Not to mention, it's not like he didn't pop up in the Marvel Universe before & outrun all the fastest guys. Marvel be forgetting they own shit sometimes.

if you post it...they will come!

Those books were the bible for superheroes and villains for me as a kid...they did an amazing job detailing the character origins and powers... excellent!!
DC's Who's Who sucked ass in comparison (not sure if you remember) We used to compare those books and Marvel actually got people with backgrounds in science to help explain abilities, powers and weapons.

Us DC geeks (which I am proudly one), already knew that the Who's Who was just DC's way of copying Marvel's version. Especially since the aftermath of Crisis confused the living hell out of everybody. Funny thing is, Who's Who made it worse. I'll tell you that story later.

You wanna know what's ironic?

After the 87-88 updates sold pretty badly, DC went & started adding other imprints & companies to its mainstream roster (Red Circle, Vertigo) & started "trying" to use science to explain in their binder-sized Who's Who. It didn't work.

But Marvel, running out of the very science explanations they defined their entire universe on, started going the mystical, mysterious, cosmic phenomenon route that DC usually takes.

It actually made both companies better, as DC became more reality-based in their stories & Marvel started embracing the unknown a whole lot better.

I know this is 4 years old but I have to say....you are right.

The metal did indeed make him weak & his immune system was constantly in hyperdrive. We saw what would happen when Magneto took all the Adamantium out of him. He basically turned into Sabretooth with morals.

BTW, I just noticed it, re-reading some of the responses...I forget we have a lot of comic geeks up here....I left out Scarlet Witch's name. I'm sure most of y'all knew but for those that didn't, I was speaking on Scarlet Witch. Once JLA/Avengers was over, she lost her mind & did the whole House of M/"No More Mutants" thing. And they NEVER explained why, other then saying she was going crazy from a previous incident with Vision & her sons.

I got a question for you comic geeks:

Seeing what Amanda Waller is doing right now in the DCU, how dangerous do you think she would be if she was in control of the Weapon X/Team X situation in Marvel?

Well, now that we know that Amanda Waller is basically turning the DC superheroes into villains (in the minds of the public, at least)...guess we'll find out.

And what did y'all think about the Krakoa Age? Good, aiight, more X-Men misery porn?

And I distinctly remember reading the comics in the 80s and they specifically said his claws came from BIONIC HOUSINGS IN HIS ARMS..explicitly suggestng they were manmade and put there...so the bone claws retcon was BULLSHIT!

Logan's ONLY TRUE mutant power is his healing factor....thats it.
Wolverine's claws are stored within his arms and emerge from between his knuckles. They are essentially extra arm bones that he can control and move. Ligaments and soft muscles act as a locking mechanism, along with locking mechanisms in the backs of his hands.

thats the late 80s early 90s retcon explanation homie...

Don't know if any of y'all noticed, but in the latest Deadpool movie (Deadpool & Wolverine)....

[SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT] "The Wolverine of Deadpool's world (the Fox Wolverine) claws were attached via tendons (see opening fight scene). However, the replacement Wolverine claws comes out through the bushings, not his wrist. Guess it's Marvel's way of showing the differences between variants" .
