Man I was thinking the same thing... I'm still trying to figure out how this will work but according to the producers the show will still be 24 hrs. I don't know if they have the balls for this.... but I'm all on board the last episode after Jack saves the day from Chang... The Russians (on a tip from the British Prime Minister) finally track Jack down again and hit him over his head so they can fly him to Russia. Jack wakes up several hours later on Russian soil... so they can finally set up Jack Bauer behind enemy lines without support on Russian ground for the next season... Which I hope they have.

Side note.... Can we all agree that Jack's mysterious partner is going to make a major play in one of these episodes. Dude has just been in the background the entire season....

24: Live Another Day is a 24 limited event television series that premiered on May 5, 2014, on Fox. Set four years after the events of season 8, it adheres to the real time concept of covering the events of a 24-hour period. However, there will be a jump forward in time within the final episode
 
It took a long ass time for this season to get live but it did in this episode. Action packed from start to finish. The clock came on at 9:10 and it felt like I already watched half the show. Two more episodes that I'm sure will be crazy.

So I was right. My guess is that whatever happens is going to involve a flight to another country to resolve this season. Ok... the final episode is titled 10:00 - 11:00AM and it's about a 10 hour flight from Britain to Beijing. So I've got a sneaky suspicion that some shit's about to go down in China.

The 24 episode seasons seemed drawn out way too long IMO. The story progression this season has been just right.

I couldn't agree more. This is the perfect format for this show. Next Season they should do the same thing. Maybe jump around the hours a little...
