I'm okay with that. I'm old.

But disparaging the CULTURE AND FOUNDATION of hip hop is some egregious sh*t. No otherr genre of music has this issue like this
Don't get it twisted, they do got some talented young artist out there but they don't get the recognition they deserve being on XXL magazines and others.

I usually try to refrain from hating on the next generation of artist but would instead joke about it.

I mean gotta pass the torch someday but some of these OG artist who are legends today are still holding their own.

I still listen to rap from back then.

The way these kids respond to anything is why their expiration date is so sped up

Before I thought it was that they they were SENSITIVE.

But then I realized I was old and they are right not to allow toxic sh*t to continue

Then I noticed BECAUSE of the lack of gatekeepers, guilt over our collective past sins in the industry music media and culture?

We letting suckers in the game

Cause suckers can hide amongst the truly aggrieved.

These boys soft. These girls are entitled. Fuk Dat many of these young folk are BOTH.

let me be clear we are and were not perfect. We gotta a lot to make up for. We have to take responsibility.

WE allowed the age limit on rap. We started the concept of thats old and played out which then unfortunately destroyed veteran acts and cherishing our classics and history.

But these kids NEED to respect the art foundation and history

Great post.

I do try my best to listen to this new stuff and check my judgemental tone.

But don't come in the game disrespectful AND untalented.

I wished these young artist were humble and give respect to the artist who came before them that pave the way for them.

But that's why giving a new artist a shot that you could end up being a fan.

I just wish these new artist had some substance to rap about instead of all this violence, sex, and drugs.

I get the tough rebel stuff thats fine. But its the IGNORANCE.

Exactly I will always continue to do that.

The thing is we at that age LOVED all the violence sex and drugs too. Where they learn it from? We have to acknowledge that

I'm speaking about balance because a lot of these young artist was never about that life but rap abut it because that's how they get paid.

It's bad when the radio don't want put out an artist music that's rapping some positivity with range.

Yes, the generation before them were rapping about violence, sex and drugs but even some of them legends would've told them they wished they knew better and had some range to rap about other stuff with some positivity in it.

So, we gotta start embracing and supporting music with some positivity that could bring everyone together.

I'm gonna always try to listen to as many artist as a I can new and old.
