2026 Chicago Bears Off Season Thread

After watching the replays and the all 22, I agree with you.

DJ just quit on that last route. :smh:
Unfortunately there was a huge miscommunication between him & Caleb
I thought he gave up on the route but watching the Rams coverage
I thought that DJ was running a flat to stretch the defense, for other
receivers to get open.

Which was true because there are 2 to 3 defenders near the area of DJ
route round the hash mark. Looking at the footage, there a short checkdown
but Caleb was trying to anticipate throw DJ open.

He didn't meet with the press after the game or even yesterday, so that let's you know everything

I wonder if things would have been different if Loveland didn't have a concussion

DJ was jogging pretty much the whole route

Any effort and he at least is there to break it up

So what's up with Eric Beniemy now

Nagy was expected to get the Titans job with Bienemy going back to Kansas City

and I think we get a drat pick for that

He did wonders for Swift this year.

The Bears won't get anything for Bienemy if he leaves for the Chiefs. First, the person has to be hired as a head coach or for an executive position like GM. Secondly they had to have been your employee for at least 2 seasons.

Talking with my tennessee family most titans fans was an a uproar
if they hired nagy. Fanbase hated the idea of Nagy as head coach.
Titans GM Borgonzi and Nagy were cool at KC.
Whats crazy Nagy helped Bongonzi with his interview script to get the Titans GM job.

Titans brass decided on Saleh instead.
Saleh was the better choice.

Now talking with my KC fam, they wanted nagy fired last season.
He is was their version of shane waldron as OC.
Two ways looking at his employment, either \he was fired or they just did not offer him a contract.
They basically said to Nagy, you dont have to go home but you at working here no more.

I have a big family.

At first reaction I thought DJ ran slow off the route and ran the wrong route

But after listening to Kurt Warner, O'Sullivan(Qb school), Phil Simms they explained that DJ
deep over route doesnt require full speed but moderate 70%-80% speed to hold the safeties in position.
It requires a clean run against a 2 high coverage.

Caleb and DJ was on the wrong page, Dj went vertical thinking he can split the two high safeties to the pylon side of the hash, Caleb wanted him to run horizontal/flatten the route. Also, Odunze ran an awful route on that play as well. I was hoping on that Caleb did simple checkdown to Monangai because the linebacker was 5 yards off of him. I'll take him 1-on-1 against a LB anyday.

Bruh whats crazy the fudgepackers run that same variation play against our BEARS defense.

OH well good fun season, BEARDOWN

It's not exactly a Bears story, but I wanted to offer a very respectful RIP to the great Terry Boers. I'm sure some of you probably spent time at some point during the past 20 years listening to the Score. I loved Lawrence Holmes, Jason Goff, Jonathan Hood, Matt Spiegel and others on that station, and still do. But for me, the main draw was always Terry Boers. The dude was just naturally hilarious. Just a couple of days ago, I listened to an old Boers and Bernstein clip where they were "cleaning out" the Basketball Hall of Fame, and as he usually was, Terry was hilarious. He will definitely be missed.

Man was a Legend on the Radio. RIP

Damn! R. I. P.

Most people loved Terry, he was one of the best in Chicago sports radio history.

Boers, along with the names you mentioned, and Mike North, legends of Chicago sports talk radio. Terry Boers was second to NONE. Even-keeled, fair, informed, he was one of America’s great sports talk radio hosts in one of America’s great sports talk radio markets, and he and Dan Bernstein made 670 The Score must listen radio M-F afternoons. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P

Man you hear a lot of Bears fans and media ready to get rid DJ, I'm not one of them. He's tough and reliable. Then he's a great person off the field. A family man who gives back to the community. Then you add that Rome Odunze hasn't proven he can be a #1 receiver.

Rome looked like a number one earlier in the season before the foot, but he drops too many passes. I'd like him in the Keenan Allen role.

I thought Ben started using DJ better as the season went along.

Very well said, my friend. I'm looking forward to hearing what Dan Bernstein has to say on his podcast on Monday since they were actually very close. J-Hood already has a really nice one on his YouTube channel. I'm also looking forward to the tributes to Terry that will be almost non-stop on The Score next week.

Couldn't agree with you more! I would hate to go into next season without D.J.'s leadership in that wide receiver room. He's one of the toughest players on that entire team, and they're a much better offense when he's on the field. I thought Olin Kreutz's take on that interception was spot on where D.J. was concerned. They go into it at the 3:48 mark of this video, and it's the best explanation of what happened that I've heard so far.
