2025 Chicago Bears Season Thread

I don't know how your high draft picks aren't even contributing. Trapilo was a healthy scratch, Loveland is MIA. It's like ground hog day, you're watching the same shit over and over again. Every year it's the same ol shit. :smh:

One of the problems is that while Kevin Warren has been in the NFL for decades, he's not a 'X' and 'O' football guy. Our GM needs to answer to a "football guy"..someone who has been on the field, coaching offices, and boardroom.

Our offensive line is failing to push defenders, and our defensive line isn't generating pressure with just four players rushing. I understand we have entirely new plays and coaches, but take some action...it's clear from watching the tape which players are not performing well.

It's not even groundhog day, because Ryan Pace actually drafted some good players.

Poles picks have been abysmal. He hasn't drafted a pro bowl player yet. Hell, he's barely drafted contributing starters.

and Tory Taylor. Yeah, he has a leg, but he out kicks the damn covering team :smh: You're punting 50 yards and giving up 25 on the return.

and it doesn't help seeing Roquan ball out still for Baltimore, because you traded him when he was like 25. :smh: Meanwhile Tremaine Edmonds continues to make zero plays :smh:

Action with what?

Who are their backups?

Exactly

The GM has failed.....badly

For all of our draft picks we have a lack of depth

Really ugly yesterday. Everyone needs to be better. Hopefully they grasp that reality, are honest with themselves about the changes that need to be made, and do what they need to do to win some games.

Changes...fire Poles, but that's not going to happen, because it would be egg on Kevin Warren and the organization.

BRUH, I was going to post the same thing.
Poles draft picks have been awful and horrendous.
Only dude is the MAN on defense is Jaylen Johnson and Pace drafted him.
Montez Sweat isnt consistent with his pass rush and is ineffective on run defense.

Poles have not replaced LB Roquan Smith, RB David Montgomery

He has built this team from team rejects and castoffs.

And they extended his contract, I said FUKKKKK !
They should have waited until after this season performance
but they main reason they extended Poles was to show this facade
of stability withing the organization to Caleb, Coach Ben Johnson and their critics/fans.

I realize its only 2 games into the season, but BEARS record will resemble last year
5-12.

I hear you. I don't think we're ever going to be 100% satisfied with the organizational structure or decisions.

End of the day the coaches coach and players play. We have the staff and the talent to be better. These guys need to actually translate that.

I hope that these past 2 games act as a feeling out period where the new staff is getting a good idea of who the gamers are, and that the players are getting used to what is expected of them from this staff. I hope this staff doesn't continue to do dumb shit like running Caleb on QB sneaks when we need a yard instead of giving it to a back. I hope they actually use our draft picks on game day. And I hope the DC really really emphasizes getting hits on the opposing QB more regularly even if he has to send extra guys every now and again.

I hope this staff realizes how bad they need to coach these guys to a win just to get their minds right. Just get A win!

It's more than that

These dudes aren't very good. Look how many have been cut within three years. Where's Velus this year? Teven Jenkens started for us. He's on the bench for Cleveland. Cleveland.

Take Kiran for example. Look where he played. He wasn't a ACC or Big 12 player. He played for fucking Yale and was a project. Other teams are drafting starters in the third or fourth round. Ours are out of their league before their second contract.

Look at his draft picks. Brisker and Kyler are good but injury prone. Darnell? Kyler got a second deal, but probably shouldn't have.

Yep the futility of BEARS QBs. Being honest, it doesn't matter who the BEARS draft
as QB. My franchise are inept of developing QBs.

Jim McMahon said it best Chicago is were QBs die.

I think its mercury, rust and lead in the water pipes at Halas Hall.
:D

I don't think it's about developing. That's a TV word. Could Kansas City have turned Mitch into Mahomes? Why isn't Mitch better since he went to Buffalo?

They go to other teams and don't do well either.

Issue is drafting the wrong QB

Colin Cowherd doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about as usual and regurgitates.

The media wants to paint this narrative when he's not the problem.

Why do you keep bringing this bullshit in the thread? They don't have a Detroit thread?
I was just sharing info on your QB from a national perspective.

If you don't want others in your bears thread enjoy!

Are you running to post positive tweets?
I have posted tweets in this thread about the bears moving on with the new stadium in Arlington and info on other players.

Caleb is not the generational QB they want him to be and I pointed that out about him in college before the bears drafted him or even had a chance to draft him.

Was Josh Allen the generational QB in his second year?

How was Goff in year two :hmm:

Were Peyton Manning or Tom Brady :hmm:

And signing the wrong one. Don’t forget about the Mike Glennon fiasco, signed him to start, gave him good money that was market rate at the time, ended up benching him halfway thru 2017 for Trubisky.

Fellas, I'm looking for opinions. Thinking about Ryan Poles and the sorry state of our roster, and the sorry state of this organization over the years, I went back and put together an All-21st Century team, wondering how they'd stack up with the other teams in the NFC North, and I'm not sure if we'd finish any higher than third place, at best. What guys would make up your teams, and where would we rank in the North? I can't see us being any higher than third. Maybe a distant third. Am I wrong?

I agree but thats the other of the coin on the systemic ineptness of our organization.
Could Mahomes and Josh Allen play all-pro level like they are with the Bears selecting them?
Bruh I highly doubt that, with getsy or waldron as OC. Nah they would struggle.

Bears wouldn't select caliber of coaches like HC Andy Reid or HC Sean McDermott with OC Joe Brady at the helm.
to create or 'develop.'

Good list. I'd swap the OC for Adam Gase and the TE for Greg Olsen.

Angelo infuriated me for not trading up for Aaron Donald and taking injury prone O lineman but considering the GM's the Bears have hired, he is indeed the best that the Bears have had this millenium.

I'm not saying that any of the frustration isn't understandable. Calob's struggles are expected to an extent by me. It is tough to watch the mistakes but I'm more disappointed in the defense.

The lack of depth (and lack quality of players) in the secondary along with the ill timed injuries will hurt all year long. Kyler was supposed to make the defense go because of Allen's use of nickel backs in the past. Can't even think about seeing what the defense will be like at full strength while Jaylon is out (likely for the year). No pressure up front only adds stress to an already weak position group.

If the team is still looking like this in week 12 then I'll be concerned. It will take time for the development of the offense and defense within the respective systems to show up.

Games might have to be shoot outs until the defensive line shows up. We certainly have the offensive personnel for that much at least.

This seems accurate.

Martellius has been our best TE?

Yeah...I guess Jimmy Graham was old and Greg had his best years with Carolina.

Folks are gonna disagree, but I would replace Marshall and Jeffery with Hester and Knox. Bears at least got to and won a playoff game with Hester and Knox as starting wr's.

I can see your argument for Gase. I struggled with tight end between Olsen and Bennett, but when Bennett was good he was REALLY good. He's been our only Pro Bowler ar tight end.

Defensive Coordinator was also hard, deciding between Rod Marinelli and Vic Fangio. Both guys were really good, but Marinelli's defense got us to the Super Bowl.

My other major struggle was at left Defensive End between Alex Brown and Akiem Hicks. I went with Alex since I thought he was a bit more durable.

Yeah...I guess Jimmy Graham was old and Greg had his best years with Carolina.

Fam if you think our tight ends have been weak, our offensive line has been brutal, especially on the left side. Olin has been our only truly great offensive lineman in the last 25 years.

The strongest part of our offense over the last twenty years has been our receivers, but they damn sure wouldn't include Hester and Knox. I would include Allen Robinson, Marty Booker, D.J. Moore, Muhsin Muhammad, and maybe, possibly, Bernard Berrian.

Maybe a hot take, but I’m put in Allen Robinson over Brandon Marshall. Marshall was great but had way too many drops for a WR1 of his caliber. Robinson did not have this issue.
