4th and a fucking yard and you can't get the goddamn 1st....Jesus Fucking Christ I thought rock bottom was the 2nd Trestman year but good fucking Lord; this is looking like 1-15, 2-14....MAYBE,

Team speed on defense looks better

Jerrell Freeman looks promising

but the offense looks just as bad as the preseason

Tonite should be the launching point of the search for the Bears QB for the future. Maybe the kid from Notre Dame?

The defense has flown to the ball all night. I can't get too mad at them even though they bit two fakes BADLY. But the O is uninspired just like the QB.

You know, after the way this franchise fucked over our friend:

I'm really feeling that the last four seasons is nothing but fucking karma.

From some dude on the Bears msg board:

The Real Problem
I've come to terms with something awhile back and it's a reality that's best confronting, getting over and being able to laugh about. The fact is that this is a garbage franchise that will do nothing until it is sold to someone else. I know it's harsh but it's true. Very few franchises have been dumber and more incompetent over a longer period of time. What makes it worse is that this is a cornerstone franchise. The were fantastic in the 40's though. The owners are incompetent and usually can't even really hire a decent GM. This is a football stupid franchise in the football business

This is a franchise that had both Butkus and Sayers on the same team and never made the playoffs

Had the greatest defense in history(and an actual good offense)and only won one Superbowl, choking afterwords. With decisions like bringing in Doug Flutie to play a playoff game. And yes at that time he was terrible.

Getting rid of Wilbur bc that would have meant spending money. Although in recent time they spend money but are usually too stupid to do it properly

This a a franchise so inept that they actual pissed off and guaranteed they didn't get a coach they wanted bc they were so unprofessional and announced a hire before the actual hiring.

A franchise who traded a first round pick for Rick Mirer. the only silver lining is that it probably didn't matter bc they can't pick anyway. List of recent 1st rounders:
Curtis Enis
Cade McNown
Brian Urlacher
David Terrell
Marc Colombo
Michael Haynes
Rex Grossman
Tommie Harris
Cedric Benson
Greg Olsen
Chris Williams
Gabe Carimi
Shea Mclellin
Kyle Long
Kyle Fuller
Kevin White

There is one success in there. A couple that were actually good were so on other teams

This is a franchise so unprofessional they screw up a trade they agree to on draft day.

They draft a running back with the 4th pick when they have Thomas Jones

They think it's a good idea tat Devin Hester can be their legitimate #1 WR

They trade for a young QB that is still developing and think all they have to do is get him, have no oline at all or receivers and magic will just somehow occur. I'm sure no one really needs reminding of the history of qb's here. Hey let's make a 7th round rookie our starting left tackle

When they finally do get a good offense they hire one of the worst coaches ever who is so incompetent they can do nothing, while also having an absolutely historically bad defense. This of course while one of the best coaches not only was available but wanted the job. But they like incompetent gms

Instead of just getting rid of the coach and GM they of course get rid of just about every single good player they can, for just about nothing in return of course. Bc that is the Chicago way.

Alshon will be gone next year too and you should be happy for him escaping.

There are actually many more examples of absolute incompetence. The point of this jet lagged rant (I'm glad I was on a plane and missed this game but I will be masochistic and watch it) is stop going crazy about certain players or situations. They aren't a cause, they are symptoms of a completely inept ownership.

This is tabernacle.

Also, Cutler will be out for a extended period. IMO it's for the better.

I think we'll look like shit with Hoyer too, but it's whatever. Our qb of the future is not on the roster.

Connor Shaw would've been interesting. .

Yep. Hopefully he can rehab and get his shot next year.

Yes it is time for Cutler to go, but too bad mckaskeys and bean-counter teddy phillips are
influencing the football decisions even with GM-Pace taking the helm a season ago.

Hopefully, the morons at halas hall have the balls to drop cutler after this season.
Being a BEARS fan, I am use to ineptness at the QB position, since we never had an all-pro QB before.

I know we have issues with injuries, personnel tough schedules etc....but im actually shocked at how shitty this team is.

I didnt expect us to be a SB team this year, but I did think we'd find a way to sneak into a WildCard spot. But after seeing two teams that I thought would be a afterthought (Lions and Vikings) playing better than us with less weapons....the playoffs are out the question (unless something catastrophic happens to some other NFC team).

I wanna type some other things that i saw, what we need via FA, drafts etc....but its too late to be typing long ass comments.
So I'll just save it until the end of the season.

BEARS!!!!!!!

Jordan Howard is a nice RB. It would be nice if Langford could get his bs together once he comes back; run harder and catch the ball some like he did during the final quarter of last year. We'd have a good 1-2 punch.

Even if Cutler is healthy, no way he should start again unless Hoyer absolutely shits the bed (how he could do any worse than anything Cutler has done at his worst is up for debate).

Offense is not hitting the big downfield plays, but assets are being utilized in ways that don't happen when Jay locks on to one or two dudes. White, a speed guy, is able to get the ball in a possession receiver role. The kid Howard looked really good and had some tough runs, including a few spins that netted 3-4 more yards on a couple of plays. Line looked their best all year. Best of all, Hoyer hasn't turned the ball over.

I think this defense is ok enough to, if the offensive can move the ball a BIT and put up 17-24 points a game, help this team win another 3, maybe 4 games. But as long as he's healthy, Hoyer needs to be starting until otherwise not needed. Cutler's money is guaranteed so forgot worrying about the money invested in him; it was a bad bet and losing gamble. Time to role with someone who'll let you see what assets you have on offense for 2017.

:thefinger:Cutler and his bitchass personality can go now.
Thanks for nothing you rich underacheiving
check stealing muhfukka.
:angry::angry::angry::angry:
Also, take the bean-counter teddy phillips and mckaskeys with ya
:curse:

I mean... Jay isn't the QB of the future, and no he hasn't been the Bears saviour, but the way some of you guys are talking you'd think Hoyer didn't throw 4 pics against the last quality team he played against... Hoyer has looked like a backup QB in 2 starts again 2 avg to below avg defenses and now people are like "yeah Hoyer needs to start from now on???" Naaa man. The Bears suck, but I'm not trying to watch Kyle Orton 2.0 for the next 12 games. Since I'm not emotionally invested in this season Jay is entertaining atleast. Some throws that make you shake your head, some throws that make you tip the cap. But he makes it interesting.

Im no Hoyer superfan in the slightest, but at least he seems motivated and made decent decisions today. Guys seem to like playing with him and want to make plays for him. They got everyone involved today too. I actually think he's better than Cutler at getting through his progressions. But clearly not as talented.

Cutler is THAT much of a dark cloud that Id rather have Hoyer play until we get a vet to beat him out or groom a young QB for the future. Think about it Cutler is more physically talented, but straight up, he's a loser. And a pouter. And more easily rattled. He's had some comeback wins ill give him that, but he is not consistently good at anything, not even with intangibles like leadership or toughness.

Im off that train.

^THIS

Kevin White has shown flashes with Hoyer that make the Bears drafting him at #7 look justified. Hoyer is checking down his reads and finding Royal. On top of it all, he's not turning over the ball.

@Mt. Yukon I get your Orton 2.0 point, but Orton would have had us in SB40 in '05 if he'd stayed the starter. What Jay gives you ain't winning games. What's fucked up is that I'm convinced he was headed for an all pro year in 2011 when he fucked up his thumb making that tackle (after an INT, go figure). But since then, he's been Rex Grossman 2.0.

Some of you act like Cutler was throwing four interceptions every game

My thing is this: I tend to like a player for at least one of these reasons...

Dependability/Consistency
Talent
Potential
Winner

I was pro Cutler due to his talent and potential but have seen enough of his body of work to know he just cant put it all together. All them coaches that have come through here? How many OCs? Its time for us to move fwd without him.

Also when something goes wrong or we take these Ls, I honestly get the feeling that he thinks its never really his fault. Who wants a dude like that at QB?
