After a disagreement in OAK on OT Rodger Saffold's physical condition, he is returning to STL to sign a 5-yr contract with the Rams. Wow.

Nah, I think either one of them QBs could be on Chicago and get better results.

There was nothing wrong with the offense last season, so the win/lose record wasnt on Jay. It was on the D that had an ass of injuries and finally fell off a cliff that did the Bears in. I think we over payed to keep him. But he didnt play poorly last season when he was in uniform.

I like Russell, but his arm aint strong enough to play in the Chi and have the load on him to make plays. Forte isnt Beastmode that can take 30 carries a game. Russell would have to make plays.

Jay dont give a fuck. which is why I still fucks with him. 4 pick game, everyone blaming him. Think he wont try to fit that ball in there next drive??? Double edged sword, but I like the hes not afraid to go make a play. Coming from Kyle Ortons ole checkdown, 10 yards and under ass... Man listen!!!

I like the moves made by my Falcons yesterday:

Jon Asamoah: From what I hear, he excels at pass protection, and we needed that. Our right guard position was a revolving door last season, so he should be able to shore that up.

Paul Soliai: I've been screaming for Atlanta to add some beef in the middle of their D-line, and they finally did it. My first choice initially was Linval Joseph, but I will gladly take Soliai's 340 lb ass causing trouble in the middle.

Tyson Jackson: I had no idea this dude was even on our radar. I'm guessing Scott Pioli had a hand in this since he drafted him back in 2009. I'll be the first to admit that he never lived up to #3 pick status during his years in KC, but maybe a change of scenery and a new coaching staff will be what he needs.

The defensive players that we've signed seem to indicate that we will be running out of a 3-4 set a lot more this season.

You gotta love Skip Bayless...this guy been dick riding Aqib Talib, for the past couple of years and all of a sudden he leaves and goes to the Broncos,he want to shit on him....:smh::lol::lol::lol:

Brandon Browner in to meet the Patriots tomorrow, per my FOX family comrade @ocktalks. Source told me earlier he has 3 scheduled visits.

And no, I don't have the other two teams for Browner at this point. Remember, he's suspended the first four games.

Over the patriots fam?

Yep. First off the offense isn't the same and the jets def can stop them. Second the pats won't be able to stop the jets if they ball hog. Think of the atk. Jets w MJD and that line eating up clock. 3rd and 4 hit decker over the middle cause at least he had hands, bam first down. Run again. Jets got Marty as OC. Different philosophy than years before. Pats can't win this year w that happy go lucky offense. Bills and Mia making any noise. Rex new contract is basically the team staying w him and not deserting him last year. He has new life. Team going in this year. Won't win due to fucking Broncos but we'll definitely give it a run this year.

Who's the number one? Because he's mostly certainly isn'rt

He can be a 1 receiver on jets. Remember, there not an explosion offense. They RUN the ball. All they need Decker there for is to move the chains. Decker has best hands. Also when they usr that jumbo offense w 2 tight ends, there TE's can catch also , it's going leave Decker on a lot of 1 on 1's and if Geno can deliver the rock, Decker can win an majority of them battles.

Perspectives on Revis and Patriots

A collection of national-based links from around the Web on the Patriots agreeing to a one-year, $12 million deal with cornerback Darrelle Revis:

1. Another twist for Patriots-Jets rivalry. Rich Cimini, who covers the Jets for ESPN.com, looks at the move through the lens of the Patriots-Jets rivalry which "took another crazy turn Wednesday night with the news that Revis Island is moving to the Bay State."

2. Nightmare scenario for Jets. Gary Myers of the New York Daily News echoes Cimini's thoughts in writing the Jets' "ultimate nightmare has become reality: Revis Island is relocating to New England."

3. Sides betting on each other. Award-winning national sports columnist Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! weaves it all together and highlights the unique dynamics in play as the Patriots and Revis have come together.

4. Upgrade for the Patriots. Greg Bedard of TheMMQB.com dissects the agreement against what the Patriots lost in Aqib Talib. "It’s hard to fault the Patriots for taking Revis over Talib, even at a higher salary. Revis is clearly better and much cleaner off the field. Now two years removed from ACL reconstruction, Revis is in top form," he writes.

5. High marks for Patriots. Pete Prisco, national football columnist for CBSSports.com, gives the move an "A" grade. "It's a great move for New England, which is in need of a cover corner after losing Aqib Talib to Denver. It's a $12 million deal for the one season, a nice deal for both. It works. It's a good rental."

6. Expensive but necessary. Doug Farrar of SI.com hands out a "B" grade in noting the move was a necessary one for New England, and an expensive one.

7. Deion Branch chimes in. With Deion Branch on the set, NFL Network discusses the Patriots-Revis marriage on “NFL Total Access” by asking the question: “Does the one-year deal work better for New England or Revis?”

8. Coverage options increase. Brent Sobleski of USAToday.com uses the Twitter machine to gather a variety of opinions on the agreement, adding: "Revis is far more consistent and will be able to lock up the opposing team’s top receiver, while the Patriots can roll coverage to the other side of the field."

Darren Sproles moving to Eagles

ESPN.com | March 13, 2014
Running back Darren Sproles, who Wednesday expressed a desire to be released by the New Orleans Saints, will be traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, a league source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Saints will receive a fifth-round draft pick from the Eagles in return, the source said Thursday.

Sproles told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Wednesday that he would rather be released by the Saints than traded.

"I don't know where they would send me because I have no control over it, and I want to be able to pick [a team]," Sproles said.

The Saints decided to trade, instead of release, Sproles because there was so much interest from other teams when he was shopped as trade bait, a source told Schefter.

Sproles was one of the Saints' most dynamic offensive weapons the past three seasons after he signed as a free agent from the San Diego Chargers, with a total of 1,067 rushing yards, 1,981 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. He set an NFL single-season record for all-purpose yards with 2,696 in 2011.

However, Sproles played in only about 33 percent of the Saints' offensive snaps during the 15 games in which he was active last season. And his numbers in 2013 (220 rushing yards, 71 receptions for 604 yards, 4 total touchdowns) were slightly down from past seasons.

The Carolina Panthers will release wide receiver Steve Smith on Thursday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Panthers will release Steve Smith on Thursday, according to a source.
On Wednesday, Smith's longtime representative Derrick Fox told The Associated Press that Smith "is not going to play for the Panthers next year, I know that. I just don't know when that transaction is going to take place."

He said the Panthers have not asked Smith, 34, to restructure his contract, which calls for him to make $7 million under this year's salary cap.

Despite releasing the five-time Pro Bowler, the club will have to pay him $3 million this season as part of the three-year extension he signed in 2012. Smith's contract runs through 2016.

Also, Smith will count $5 million under this year's cap. The team could designate him for a June 1 release, which would allow it to split that money over the next two seasons.

Fox said Smith, a 13-year veteran, would have preferred to finish his career with Carolina, the team that drafted him in the third round in 2001. He said Smith was "disappointed and surprised" when Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman talked about the receiver's future in uncertain terms at the NFL scouting combine last month.

"Where we are disappointed is the fact he signed an extension to stay loyal to the club and complete his career as a Panther," Fox said. "That is why we did the long-term team deal. Now we are at a crossroads where the Panthers don't want him anymore."

Smith is Carolina's all-time leading receiver with 836 catches for 12,197 yards and 67 touchdowns. He is 19th all time in receiving yards and 25th in receptions.

He had 64 receptions for 746 yards and four touchdowns last season, helping the Panthers go 12-4 in the regular season and capture the NFC South title.

Fox said Smith plans to continue his playing career when the Panthers cut ties.

"At 34, they could have kept him and run him in the slot," Fox said. "Steve wants to play in the slot. But he can't play the slot with the current roster, and he hasn't been able to play in the slot with the rosters in the past."

Ravens plan to aggressively pursue Steve Smith

Dan Hanzus
Around the League Writer

Steve Smith's days with the Carolina Panthers are numbered. He shouldn't be out of work for long.

NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Thursday that the Baltimore Ravens will be in quick pursuit of the veteran wide receiver upon his release. According to Breer, a deal could materialize quickly.

If Smith has anything left in the tank at 35, he should be a good fit in a Ravens' offense that never adequately replaced Anquan Boldin last season. Smith would ostensibly work in the slot with Jacoby Jones (re-signed Wednesday) and Torrey Smith on the outside and a healthy Dennis Pitta at tight end.

Suddenly, Joe Flacco will have a legit roll call of playmakers.

Smith shouldn't be an assumed slam dunk for the Ravens, of course. His play fell off significantly in 2013, and Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman will essentially pay Smith to go away. The Panthers did their franchise star wrong in their handling of the situation, but their internal view of Smith as a player raises red flags.

That said, Smith makes sense for the Ravens at the right price in a supporting role. Finally, something to put on your calendar: The Panthers will visit the Ravens in Week 14.

Sproles on the iggles should be nice

yup another weapon in the offense..and all it took was the 5th rounder we got from NE for Sopoaga last year

also just signed Nolan Caroll from the dolphins to compete for a starting CB spot

none of these moves are big splashes but they help..all of the FA aquisitions will help improve special teams and will help us be able to go for BPA in the draft..
