2014 Corvette Reveal Live at 6pm eastern

::Smh:: at people complaining about the interior. This is a race car straight from the factory. This is for people who love car performance...if you want a nice interior then go pay 4 times as much for an Aston martin. Youre gonna need that tush cushion for your asshole getting raped at every stop light and every late night highway run... At the price for performance, this car is a steal..

Its a thing of beauty...I just wish they kept the round tail lights.

After looking at it more and more....the one thing I'm really not feeling are the Camaro-ish rear tail lights. Can't figure out why they went that route and didn't stick with the traditional circular tail lights in the past.

Co-Sign...my only guess is that they would've had to pay Ferrari a shit load of money if they went circular seeing as how their designs are somewhat similar :dunno:

The saving grace is that I don't have to look at that ugly shit while driving the car.

It seems to be a common enough complaint that some custom body company might offer a round light kit for this car :dunno: . Everything else is perfect with this car

With all of the edges on the C7 I don't think circular or oval would have flowed together with it.

From Automobile Magazine:

Instead, much of the C7 conversation will center around its squarish, Camaro-esque taillights. "These are our pop-up headlights," Juechter says, referencing the controversial move to fixed headlamps for the C6. That car's single-bulb round taillights may be iconic, but internally they were known as RV lights for their simplicity, and they didn't offer much of a stage for showing off the LEDs that the design team wanted to incorporate for the C7. The stylized solution also provides a connection to the vents, which serve as an outlet to the air inlets on top of the rear fender.

Here's a photoshop of what possible round lights might have looked like.

^^ I don't think that's a good rendering of how it could really look. Especially, with removing the black diffuser

I think Chevy could have really figured it out and made it work

Nevertheless, it looks to be a very impressive car and I look forward to the Z06. That's the model I would go with

It was one of the better ones I could find M3MD. Trust some of them get real stupid! A lot of "self-proclaimed designers" out there that thinks that what they PS would sell better:lol:

The ZO6 will be amazing!

on looks alone I would get this car but i need some people to get behind the wheel of this and give me a good impression of the car. Not throwing hate on the C7 but how it handles is what i want to hear. does the car responds well or give god driver feed back. hell is a good day to day car. but my hat is off to the Corvette team. they made one sexy ass car. Oh and that comment about the the GTR interior .....Head hang low, walking out of thread ......sobbing :smh:

Looks too much like a Nissan GTR with the round lights

I need to see the round tails with the diffuser. If that ps is the argument for round tails, I can see why they went in the other direction.

I understand them wanting to do something different than round lights on this Vette. This is about the only thing you can do with a round LED taillight

Yeah, new style FTW. People are just trying to find a reason to complain at this point. I mean C4 tail lights werent perfectly round in the later years, nobody tripped on that. I'm sure at some point down the line round/roundish taillights will come back. They really don't need anything retro on a Corvette, it should be a forward looking car.

Correct manhertm! I loved the late C4 Corvettes that had the square tails (1990-1996), especially the ZR1 and Grand Sports:yes:

I hear you, interiors are something you have to sit in and touch to get a true feel of how upscale or not it is. I've seen plenty car interiors that look got in pictures, but felt like straight plastic at the auto show. You gotta sit in them man. That said, I don't think this interior looks bad, the driver oriented dash has been done, but it's a driver oriented car. Also that bright red color scheme , I think is what's making it look tacky as SIDESHOW mentioned.

Yeah, the red is a bit gaudy, and doesn't look quite right. The interior fit and finish appears to be much better in the more reserved color schemes. After looking closely at the images, I don't feel the interior is "there" just YET, but it's closer than I first thought.

That being said, I think we're all in agreement that the value this car presents, particular in the uber-high performance variants that wil be coming soon, is INCREDIBLE. Also nice to see that structural rigidity is much higher too. I've always refereed to Vettes as the best bucket of bolts money can buy  That's with great affection though.. they're kind of like Millennium Falcons on sports cars. They may not have the refinement of some of their counterparts, but when it's time to go... it's BEAST MODE. Glad to see they've tightened the shit up.

Oh, I tend to be pretty tough on interiors. I'm not just hating on the Vette. Ya'll might be surprise about another interior I haven't been able to bring myself to love....

The Aventador

(the murcielago's interior did nothing for me either, and the Aventador's is not becoming of the car IMO)

I wonder what that wide body Z06/ZR1 is going to look like. Menacing!

Side note: Motor Trend put the ZR1 against the Viper GTS. They said the Viper was 2 seconds slower. But the ZR1 had carbon ceramic brakes and the tires are basically street legal race tires. So its not quite a 1:1 test because the viper has steel brakes and Pirelli. Not quite a fair test.
