We teach girls to shrink themselves
To make themselves smaller
We say to girls
“You can have ambition
But not too much
You should aim to be successful
But not too successful
Otherwise you will threaten the man”
Because I am female
I am expected to aspire to marriage
I am expected to make my life choices
Always keeping in mind that
Marriage is the most important
Now marriage can be a source of
Joy and love and mutual support
But why do we teach to aspire to marriage
And we don’t teach boys the same?
We raise girls to each other as competitors
Not for jobs or for accomplishments
Which I think can be a good thing
But for the attention of men
We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings
In the way that boys are
Feminist: the person who believes in the social
Political, and economic equality of the sexes

Beyonce has been on a 123-show tour since March. She kicked off 2013 singing the National Anthem at the inauguration and then performed at the Super Bowl. I think the new Beyonce cd will have a negative effect on how women view all things deemed relationship items.

do not fall for people who can’t love you all of you. including your rich dark skin
do not compare yourself to others.. and wish. for lighter skin, eyes , less coarse hair.. if a person can’t see. you , love you because you don’t have those features they are not worth it.. you don’t need. love like that. you are worthy love, affection, kindness, empathy ,passion yes .. in that skin your in… yes with your coarse hair .. and yes with that nose , and yes with that mouth..
we choose who we love … choose... a person who is an awe of you… who is fascinated by you all of you.. all f that richness.. someone who is passionate about you , your happiness…
they should never love you despite your skin color.. that’s not love ….. they would not know how to truly love you…
but most of all you are not the PROBLEM… them not being to able to show you love .. not seeing you because of the rich darkness of your skin is not the PROBLEM… it’s never on you … you are what you are .. that skin that envelops you is what it is.. you do not deserve less because of it.. you do not have to settle for less because of it…… the darkness of your skin , that coarse hair those features are not a blight …… no matter what the world says…. .. it’s not you it’s them ….
real love don’t demand you be something else , real love don’t measure you against something else, real love do not pit you against the, bullshit racist colorist “ideals” of the world ….. IN this? real love is kind, and is all about celebrating you all of you…
so no nothing is wrong with you.. everything is wrong with the world.. so don’t settle.
