Contract details of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade

10.07.2010, 16:36 NBA 0 - E. Carchia
Chad Ford, on his Twitter account, reported the contract details of the new Big Three of Miami Heat: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. * "LeBron & Bosh sign 6 year, $110M dollar deals. Wade signs 6 year, $107M dollar deal.
LeBron & Bosh start at $14.5M ... $2M less starting salary than max. Wade starts at $14.2M. Overall each took about $15M less
Obviously these 6 year deals for LeBron & Bosh mean that they both got their sign-and-trades"

Sources: Mike Miller picks Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies have won the race to sign free-agent sharpshooter Mike Miller.

Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com on Wednesday that Miller has committed to sign a two-year deal with the Grizzlies after being pursued by other contenders such as Oklahoma City and Houston.

Kevin Durant was at the forefront of Oklahoma City's recruiting push, but sources said Miller ultimately couldn't resist the chance to return for a second stint in Memphis, where he has kept a home since playing for the Grizzlies from the 2002-03 to 2007-08 seasons.

The deal, sources said, will include a player option in Year 2.

Grizzlies mainstays Marc Gasol and Mike Conley also took an active role in recruiting Miller, with Conley jokingly telling ESPN.com on Tuesday at Team USA minicamp in Las Vegas that he offered Miller "golf on me for a year" if he would agree to join shooting-starved Memphis.

The Grizzlies actually acquired two sharpshooters Wednesday to help address their longstanding lack of perimeter shooting, claiming guard Josh Akognon off waivers after Dallas was forced to release him in a salary-cup crunch.

Houston was scheduled to meet with Miller on Friday before the 33-year-old decided Wednesday that he was ready to commit to Memphis. The Denver Nuggets also strong received consideration from Miller after his release last week by the Miami Heat via the league's amnesty provision.

Despite his role in helping Miami win back-to-back championships, Miller was amnestied in a financially motivated move that will save the Heat as much as $17 million on luxury-tax payments next season. They still owe him $12.8 million in salary over the next two seasons.

Miller averaged just 4.8 points while shooting 42 percent from 3-point range during the regular season for Miami. But he played a big role for the Heat in the NBA Finals, shooting 61 percent from 3-point range and starting the last four games.

Shortly after rumblings began to circulate that the Cleveland Cavaliers were interested in claiming Miller off waivers, reports of the veteran forward needing back surgery or even considering retirement arose. Despite dealing with bulging disks in his back throughout the 2011-12 season, Miller wound up playing in 59 games this past season, his highest total since 2008-09.

Miller recently announced that he was feeling healthy and looking forward to next season, telling the South Florida Sun-Sentinel: "I'm excited about the next spot. I'm re-energized. I really am. I'm just feeling healthy. I'm ready to play. I started to get back in [the gym] again last week and I can't wait to play again next year."

Mark Cuban say Dirk Nowitzki can win MVP

According to Mark Cuban, the biggest misconception about the Dallas Mavericks is the belief that Dirk Nowitzki is no longer a superstar.

Nowitzki had his streak of 11 consecutive All-Star appearances snapped last season, when he missed 29 games because of arthroscopic knee surgery.*But Cuban considers the down season to be an aberration, citing Nowitzki's injury and the Mavs' subpar point guard play.

"If there's one missing piece between what everyone is saying and what we're doing, everybody, I think, has dismissed Dirk -- like Dirk is done and he's on the downside and he can't play anymore and he's not the type of contributor that he was," Cuban said during an appearance on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM's Galloway and Company.

"If you look at the mess that we had in terms of our guard play and basketball IQ, when Dirk came back and really got into gear, we beat a lot of good teams. I think we were at a 48- or 50-win clip. You put a much better set of players around him, and Dirk is in a situation where he doesn't have to rush back. He's had all summer to prepare his body and get ready."

Nowitzki averaged 17.3 points per game last season -- his lowest since his rookie season in 1998-99 -- and the Mavericks failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 1999-2000. But Cuban went as far as to say that Nowitzki still is an MVP-caliber player.

"Knock on wood, if we stay healthy, I think people are just missing Dirk in ways they shouldn't," Cuban said. "Like I've been telling him, Karl Malone won an MVP at 35 and there's no reason why he can't be considered in an MVP conversation at 35.

More on the Mavericks

News, notes and analysis of the Mavericks from ESPNDallas.com's Tim MacMahon, Richard Durrett and our team.
Blog » * ESPN Dallas »
"I can also tell you, the way people are just randomly dismissing him as being done has been incredible motivation for him as well."

The 7-foot Nowitzki, who never had missed more than nine games in a season before last season, averaged 18.9 points and 7.7 rebounds after the All-Star break, shooting 50.5 percent from the floor and 43.3 percent from 3-point range during that stretch. The Mavs went 18-12 after the break, which projects to a 49-win pace for a full season.

Nowitzki, the 2006-07 MVP and 2011 NBA Finals MVP, has averaged 22.6 points per game during his 15-year career.

The Mavs believe Nowitzki is still capable of putting up those kind of numbers if paired with a savvy, pass-first point guard, which is why they signed Jose Calderon to a four-year, $29 million deal.

"Look, the missing piece is everybody is dismissing Dirk," Cuban said. "Everybody thinks Dirk is done. Maybe he can't put up 30 a night. Maybe he's not going to go for 50 when he wants to. He's not going to have those Dirk vs. Tracy McGrady-type battles, but he's still going to demand a double-team. He's still going to be a guy we can go to get a bucket at the end of a game. Dirk is still going to be a guy that will get you buckets when you need them.

"Now, we've added someone who can run a pick-and-roll with him and knows how to run it and knows how to use a screen."

Nowitzki is entering the final season of a four-year, $80 million contract, but he has committed to re-sign with the Mavs next summer at a drastically reduced salary.

After missing out on Dwight Howard this summer, the Mavs will continue trying to acquire a superstar to complement Nowitzki, with Calderon and high-scoring free-agent addition Monta Ellis headlining the supporting cast.

"Maybe Dirk won't win an MVP," Cuban said. "But trust me, Dirk can still play."

man that shit don't mean nothing if those fuckers don't opt out...

Thanks for clearing that up. If Miami falls short will Lebron opt out?

Cuban tripping

Dirk won't be an MVP candidate again but he still got a few 20+ PPG seasons left and is still a matchup nightmare

I'll take that

Memphis got a nice scorer in Akognon

Dude can put the ball in the basket period point blank

I see Miller probably went to the highest bidder of the contenders

Lebron is on the books until 2016, so they may need to go after Rudy first...

Lebron and Bosh will opt out.

One reason 2016 is when the current CBA expires. This shit will get worst before it gets better.

As Yahoo sports pointed out Monday. You better believe the Owners will opt out the current CBA why??? One reason 2016 is a huge free agent class and Brooklyn will have cap space.

If other owners are tripping right now imagine when Durant, Howard and others hit the market and the Russian can spend freely. Remember how Melo was like hell no. I'm not going into the lockout without an extension.

Lebron isn't going into a lockout not knowing that the owners will be trying their best to stop him from loading up.

Best bet is to opt out in 2014 as expected. Retool with the heat or another team and go from there.

Correct, was just making a point about the contracts of the big 3. Lebron been very respectable towards business in the past, I don't see that changing.

I saw one article where they broke down the money where James, Bosh and Wade could resign and Riley still can pursuit Rudy Gay(a player he's high on). That's some serious work tho, it would mean the big 3 would make around 10-13 million a year, along with Gay and some rosters fillers...

Miller help Memphis if he stays healthy they needed 3pt shooting in the worst way......they should still try to sign another shooter to get zach and gasol more room to work with.

SA might still be the best team out west

Aye man don't get these dudes in here moist

A lot of top FA will be on the move to new teams. Westbrook is leaving OKC or his own squad

Durant going to BK
LBJ opting out but he still staying with the Heat
Bosh is gone
Melo leaving NY and that 135 mill on the table but here is the kicker he not going to LA, he's going right to south beach with LBJ.

Those 2 dudes on the same team and people might as well not even watch the NBA anymore

Melo will get his first ring and it will not be in a knick uniform

... And I can't see him reuniting with Dumb Toni either..

The Indiana Pacers and Paul George are discussing a long-term contract extension.

“We’re talking now,” George said. “It’s still in the rough draft form. It’s a long summer and we’re not rushing it. I think we’re both on the same page as far as myself and the Pacers. … I’m just focusing on getting better and making sure whatever deal that we do come up with, that I’m ready for it.”

George would like to sign an extension before the regular season begins Oct. 31.

“It’s something that I would love, obviously,” George said. “I would love to have something done going into the season just to take my mind off that and really get to practicing and focusing on getting better this summer. It would be ideal if I could get it done going into training camp.”

Oden Could Pick Free Agent Destination By Monday
Jul 27, 2013 11:12 AM EDT

Greg Oden could choose his free agent destination as soon as Monday, his agent, Bill Duffy told NBA.com.

Oden is weighing whether to sign with a contender or a rebuilding team.

“We’ve looked at all the scenarios,” Duffy said. “There might be less pressure if he tries this with a team that’s rebuilding. Then again, the quality of the medical staff will matter. Maybe a winning team has chemistry that’s good or his role would be clearly defined.”

Oden has worked out for Miami, New Orleans, Sacramento, San Antonio, Atlanta and Dallas.

“Physically, he’s awesome,” Duffy said Friday afternoon. “We’re very happy with where he is. [His health and impact are] going to depend on monitoring him and his minutes.”

Hawks Claim Gustavo Ayon Off Waivers

The Atlanta Hawks have claimed Gustavo Ayon off waivers, a league source told RealGM.
*
Ayon was released by the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday with their glut*in the*frontcourt,*but the 6-foot-10*big man received heavy interest due to his inside presence and reasonable contract worth $1.5 million next season.
*
Ayon is expected to get a fair trail to earn a spot in a Hawks rotation that has lacked a young, developing center alongside Al Horford.
*
Ayon, 28, has averaged 4.8 points and 4.3 rebounds in two NBA seasons. The Hawks will be his fourth team.

Asik would love a trade but he is stuck until atleast the 14/15 NBA season. His current contract in the 3rd year will have great trade value. I am sure Asik went to Houston thinking he was going to be a starter and he has to now split time with DHo
