Yeah I don't understand it's obvious Ginobli is what he used to be two years and 4 years for Spillter I don't get it. :smh:

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

The Spurs are too loyal. Ginobili had his Heat jersey almost the entire series. Dude thought Lebron and Wade were his teammates.:smh:

I'm not understanding the loyalty to Splitter though. Let him go.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Only my opinion.

Absolutely agree. What else can they do? I love the fact that they are battling.

That's the thing though, if all the Superstars are teaming up, who you going to stack your team with though? The NBA is watered down with a lack of talent which makes it awful.

That's why I ride for my Nuggets so hard because we lost our superstar(who had a team put around him FINALLY after 6 years) and we finally got a good GM who stacked the team with the best possible players he could. We won 57 games and are still making the playoffs.

BUT we're not stacking like the Lakers or Heat. So like I said you can't really stack you team in a league where only superstars seem to win and you only got a few true superstars.

Mavs did it without teaming up stars and they STILL fell victim to trying to build a super team thanks to the CBA

Rockets pursuing Josh Smith to pair with Dwight Howard

Lakers free agent center Dwight Howard reportedly asked the Rockets during their meeting with him if and how they could get another max free agent to go wth him and James Harden if he signs with Houston. Now Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports that the Rockets have immediately moved to add Josh Smith alongside Howard to convince him to sign.

League sources told CBSSports.com on Tuesday night that the Rockets acted quickly on Howard's desire to bring another star to Houston with him and have begun their pursuit of Smith, the Hawks' free agent forward and Howard's former AAU teammate in Atlanta, in a sign-and-trade arrangement.

The move is yet another sign that the Rockets feel strongly they're in position to land Howard. Berger reported earlier this week that the Rockets were exploring trades for Jeremy Lin and/or Omer Asik to clear space for such a deal. The Rockets already cleaned house, including waiving Aaron Brooks and Carlos Delfino to make room for a max offer to Howard.

Smith and Howard are friends from their AAU days and would make for a pretty fearsome frontcourt. Smith's versatility and athleticism combined with Howard' size and power would certainly work well with Harden's perimeter ability, if Smith can constrain his impulses to launch from the perimeter.

Even that might not be a problem in the Rockets' three-point-friendly offense.

Is Smith enough to push Howard over the top when it comes to deciding his future team? The Laker and Mavericks finished up the last appointments for Howard, who now will reportedly take a few days to deliberate on the matter. Meanwhile, the Rockets will try and line up a potential deal to move for Smith in case Howard asks about it, while not going through with the agreement as to avoid locking themselves into Smith in the event they don't get Howard.

Houston is NOT playing around they are going IN

I don't get this either. too Loyal. Few years ago, I was scratching my head when they resigned Jefferson to a another big contract after he laid an egg for a couple of years. Thought they would let him walk but Noooo :smh: Ginobli is shot. I understand they are a small market but what about trying hard to get someone like J-smoove instead of spending that money on Ginobli and Splitter? I think Iggy would fit too cause of his defense. SA is done cause of these move. They forgetting Duncan is old

Report: Kings pull offer to swingman

The Sacramento Kings, after making Andre Iguodala their top free-agent priority, have abruptly pulled their lucrative offer to the Denver Nuggets swingman, according to USA Today.

Iguodala

After ESPN.com reported Tuesday night that the Kings were going all-out to try to sign Iguodala away from the Nuggets, USA Today reported in the early hours of Wednesday that the Kings -- frustrated by Iguodala's unwillingness to give them a faster answer -- took the reported four-year, $52 million deal off the table.

It was not immediately known if the offer to Iguodala can be resuscitated.

Iguodala, in response to the move, simply tweeted:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>WOW!!!!</p>&mdash; Andre Iguodala (@andre) <a href="https://twitter.com/andre/statuses/352290452126441472">July 3, 2013</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Really?? Ok... MOTIVATION!!!!!!</p>&mdash; Andre Iguodala (@andre) <a href="https://twitter.com/andre/statuses/352290588911087616">July 3, 2013</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

When it appeared that they were closing in on a verbal agreement with Iguodala under new general manager Pete D'Alessandro -- whom Sacramento hired away from Denver -- sources told ESPN.com that the Kings were likewise leaning strongly against matching the offer sheet restricted free agent Tyreke Evans is planning to sign with the New Orleans Pelicans on July 10.

Sources said Tuesday that Evans is prepared to sign a four-year deal worth at least $44 million when the league's annual moratorium on signings and trades is lifted. How the latest developments with Iguodala impact Sacramento's stance on Evans remains to be seen.

The Kings' initial stance, sources said, was that matching the Pelicans' forthcoming deal with Evans is too pricey, especially after Sacramento drafted Ben McLemore with the seventh overall pick in last Thursday's draft.

As for Iguodala's future, Denver is the only team in the league that can offer him a five-year deal and has indicated repeatedly that it hopes to hang on to him. Detroit, Golden State, Houston, Atlanta and Dallas are also among the teams that have expressed interest in signing him.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

I can't even front, I don't LIKE Dwight, and I've said a no. of times I wanted him to leave...

...but that shit wasn't true. Who else the fuck will we have if he leaves? He's goofy, and stupid, but he's arguably the best center in the league.

Kobe was all amped talking about he wanted the last word to Dwight. I thought this nigga had something worthwhile to say.

That nigga might be the very reason why Dwight leaves, and that's saying a lot considering who the coach is.

Kobe fucked that up when he came out and said

"i got three more good years of basketball left in me"

Dwight thinking in his head "fuck this shit I'm GONE!"

This something I've been trying to firgure out, what's plan C, because plan was/is Josh Smith but the problem is him and Dwight is tight....

most of my homeboy are Laker fans, and they have this attitude like they're suppose to be great yearly...so the pressure of these rough times are golden(not that I'm hater or anything)

The firing of Mike Brown something totally different!!!

Homie, firing Mike B. wasn't the Lakers problem. Hiring D'antoni certainly didn't solve it, tho'.
