Than we shall seeThen I'll man up and say I was wrong. But I doubt if that will happen because my argument consists of me actually being inside of that beach in that very spot.

Dude could be another van der sloot.
DR is no worse that traveling anywhere else in this country or the world. As with anywhere you go be aware of your surroundings & don't do risky or dumbshit.
In this case it sounds like her friends weren't really her friends & left alone with a stranger. Sometimes you have to save folks from themselves especially at that age & liquor was probably involved.
Actually, it is worse.
It is worse because people think "foreign country, they don't have guns like back home", but they never consider how they might defend against a couple of Haitians waving machetes.
It is worse because Americans typically let down their guard, assuming everyone they encounter are going to be eager, gringo pleasing friendly natives, when in fact, they are viewed as an atm on legs, destined for and deserving of the most savage financial rape that might be thrust upon them. The fact that you can afford to GO ON VACATION IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY means you are extremely well off by third world standards.
Trusting Dominicans and Haitians...does the term "fuck around and find out" mean anything to you? It applies here.
Latinos have NO mercy when a fat pocketed, naive gringo rears its ugly head.
Like flies into shit.

* Divers ALL over the beach
* Multiple investigative teams
* Helicopters
All looking for her

Actually, I sound like someone with experience visiting, working and living in countries outside of the USA.You sound like someone who has never left their block..lol Like I said using COMMON SENSE is key, the same shit you listed can happen to someone right here in the US in Chicago, LA, Bay Area, Detroit etc if you wander into the wrong area or hell even in nicer areas if you look like a naive fool.
Do you have a passport?
This happens quite often. This shit is sad and fucked up.![]()
Now watch some idiot randomly pop up on this thread asking you "Do you have a passport" but they think DR is still safe down there because nothing happened to them yet.I used to wanna go to the DR before 2020 but since 2020 all the crazy tragic stories started coming out about American tourists being poisoned or killed. That scratches the DR and Mexico off my list.
I do, dual citizenship DR and US.Of course. Do you?
You should get a passport. Punta Cana is safer than Philly just don’t go galavanting with drunk white men in the middle of the night. Now watch some idiot randomly pop up on this thread asking you "Do you have a passport" but they think DR is still safe down there because nothing happened to them yet.
I've lived here for years, outlived a lot of people that are no longer here. I know my way around philly and I've been to many parts of philly as well. You should get a passport. Punta Cana is safer than Philly just don’t go galavanting with drunk white men in the middle of the night.

DR meanwhile is a different story, first of all, I don't talk their language, second of all, I don't like the fact women want money from men, third of all, there's been a lot of reports in DR about things being bad down there and blaming that shit on the liquor won't change a thing about it being bad over there. Also, I've been drunk as fuck a few times in my life around my friends and cousins partying and even once by myself which I still was able to get home safety or help from friends and family which I know the outcome wouldn't be the same had I've been in DR. But I'm also proud of the fact that I no longer drink anymore and have been sober for years.
Philly Crime been high been for years, I'm still here. That's anywhere in the world, including Philly...lol
And in terms of crime you still have a MUCH greater chance of getting robbed, killed etc in Philly than you ever would in DR.

People going to the DR don't know where they're going nor can talk a different language getting taken advantage of.
Also, the cheap ass liquor they have there which people were poisoned from drinking it.
Also, with trump in office and these plane crashes happening almost daily, I'm good.
Check BGOL with multiple threads about these planes since trump became president.Plane crashes daily? lol How many flights took off yesterday around the world & how many crashes were there?
Stay on the resort, it’s paradise and the staff speaks enough English. Don’t limit your life off news reports. If I did that I would think Kensington zombies was all of Philadelphia but we know better. The OP is a rare story of a pretty tourist girl gone missing and if it bleeds it leads. I can show you what the DR hood looks like and not recommend you go there. I can also show you the paradise that it is.I've lived here for years, outlived a lot of people that are no longer here. Don’t go here, La 42 in Santo Domingo.
Fair enough, but I'm not the only one who feels this way though about DR.
News reports do keep people informed, that could steer people away from going there or help them be aware of the dangers.
Also, there's been deaths on the resort as well with people renting AirBNB with some of these deaths being suspicious.
Also, there's plenty of other countries to visit as well that people can go to. It's just the fact they've made DR popular.
Yet, this women we don't even know if she will be found alive or not being at DR.
Thank you for this message and advice..As someone who has traveled extensively, I concur.
What people don't seem to realize is that many of these Caribbean, South, and Central American countries are poverty-stricken. So poverty-stricken that you are a walking ATM to the hard boys. The police and courts are so corrupt and clogged criminals' chances are better robbing and killing your ass than getting a job if they can even find one. What you consider short money might be a week's or month's salary to them. And if by some miracle they are caught, tried, and convicted jail aint shit and they probably won't serve that long anyway.
Yes, keep your head on a swivel, and don't be afraid to travel but use common sense. I'd love to see Somalia but come on man.
Thank you for this message and advice..
I'll make sure to keep this as a reminder..

What's funny is people will argue with you all day about this shit..Yet, you and others agree about DR not being safe and how these dudes brag about buying cheap pussy in those countries. Then they want to try to compare your city with these other countries especially somewhere that people are familiar with and know their way around their own city since they've been born and raised there. Also, I never once said my city isnt dangerous but I know my way around there to avoid those parts and also there's plenty of safe spots in Philly to go to. Meanwhile people taking trips TO DR who don't speak their language and then women want money from them as soon as they get off the plane but under the same breath these dudes complain about women wanting money here in the U.S. but because DR is cheap, it makes it better..Wise words, im not sure why most people dont consider this poverty issue when they go to this countries or island and within 50ft from leaving the resort u see people living in shanty houses with aluminum roofs and no windows, how can you think that they arent in poverty and that a 20 dollar bill could feed their family for a day or two. That same person leaving the resort going into the native area is fresh meat. I learned this lesson many years in during my first trip to Montego Bay rocking my new gear and jewelry in the downtown area, i felt the eyes on me and know i needed to get back to the resort asap.
Holes in his story, he killed her.![]()
