Since we on the topic of military, don't know if those of you reading this are aware, but all 50 states have the Natl Guard activated to keep order as of this writing.

Russia is going to invade Ukraine by weekend.
There are Russian subs off the US coast, so stay diligent. Somethings about to go down

In the event that republican legislatures rig the next presidential election, and refuse to admit defeat (assuming that they are defeated)...

how likely is the military to split, with some deciding to follow right wing generals, loyal to tRump, and the others siding with generals loyal to the duly elected potus?

Do you think we could be headed for a real, shooting civil war?

In a coup, the deciding factor is generally, if not always, which side the military supports.

Its possible but not likely. As many assholes the military has there is always going to be someone to establish order and get rid of the foolishness. No split and the military follows the officers regardless unless they issue unlawful direct orders. If you haven’t served it’s hard to explain. A lot of military love Trump but a lot also hate him too.

Lol Russian sub fleet aint shit, sincerely US submarine vet

This is just Sabre rattling.

"No decision has been made to deploy ANY Forces from the US at this time." The Unit is put on higher alert, and higher alert ONLY.

I don't think any more is gonna come of this than when Russia rolled over Georgia. We sent equipment and supplies and the Russians just took the shit from them.

I agree. But they are ushering something else is why all the posturing. They will use this as an excuse.

Something else is going on.

Is Hunter still on a Board? He disappeared himself to go do rehab, I thought.

At any rate, Foreign Policy will not be dictated by what politicians offspring sits on some Board getting paid to provide access or an ear of their parent. They'll just be advised by the Embassy to get the fuck out of Dodge. Any one of them has a level of influence that makes Intelligence keep an eye on 'em.

This also has to be from a Far-Right source. The GOP ain't got much love for Romney for going off the Reservation over Trump so they have NO PROBLEM lumping him into the mix.

Russia and the US ain't going to blows. If it was EVER gone happen, it'd have been during the 45 years of a Cold War. Russia is exerting it's power and influence against US encroachment near it's borders via NATO. They don't wan't a war with us, they just ain't gone lay down and roll over for NATO. It's the same shit N. Korea does.

This ain't about a war. I'd think this is more about covering up funneling money thru Ukraine. Hiding money from years ago dating back to Privat Bank and others thru Cyprus and Latvia.

We'll see what all becomes of this in the near future.

Money laundering don't measure up to creating an International incident of this stature. Hell, Russians have been using Trump for the same shit.

I'm not 100% on this but was Flynn acting in a military capacity while Trump was in? Or was he retired? I know the one Flynn who's a current General, heard him vocal about Trump but he still has to answer to others above him.

Everyone will always be human and have their beliefs. But at the end of the you still have to follow orders and stfu or be court martialed if you oppose an order.
Flynn was out. Obama fired him from head of Defense Intelligence Agency because of how erratic and incompetent h ewas. Flynn still holds a grudge against him. Flynn racked up thousands of al Qaida, AQAP and Daesh (ISIL). Nobody doubts that he was a great intelligence officer, but people became concerned that he was repeating Russian propaganda and unsubstantiated Internet claims. Remember McChrystal? Flynn was his right hand. McCrystal was dismissed for insubordination, Flynn kept his commission until 2013. Obama was shown evidence Flynn was reading an English translation of a Russian propaganda piece.

When Trump was elected - with Russian help - he met Obama at the White House two days later and was warnedto not hire Flynn, which he promptly ignored.
