the only thing he could’ve done to not have the optics appear bad was to have a reaction similar to his wife, who stepped forward.

I take that back, he could’ve always warned the photographer about how close she was to stage edge and he could’ve yelled for help while seeing her fall.

I dont think it was his responsibility to respond to the photographer’s crisis but again, the optics don’t look good.

I get where people are coming from, and it is a bad look for him, but I'm at the very least indifferent to his reaction.

If he had staggered over to the edge to look for her, he still wouldn't have been able to do anything. And half the people that are dragging him for walking away would probably be dragging him from dumb-staring off the platform at her.

And the weirdest thing is the people that want to say that it's worse because she got seriously injured. Feel how you want to feel, but her getting badly hurt doesn't make his response any more or less indifferent than it already was because he had no way of knowing that.

I dunno. At the end of the day, I don't really care about Stafford one way or the other. But in a league full of legitimately horrible and sometimes criminal people, I'll take "doesn't check on accident he didn't even cause" from a drunk guy. I guess....
