Man, I have no doubt she will kill it. She literally is Amanda Waller..She definitely has the presence, the tone, the mannerism and certainly the acting chops!
If you watch her current show...Get away with Murder..it's very apparent!
I've been a huge fan of her work!

Thank goodness they didn't. There is nothing about Oprah in her acting, screen pre scene that screams take me seriously...nothing IMO!

Oprah is too much of a wild card. All the roles she's taken recently have been with people she knows and respects. I'm not hiring a billionaire to act in my film unless I know I can get them to do what I need. She could walk off the Suicide Squad set at any moment and not look back, what can they do to her?
Viola wants the exposure and can do the role justice.
Soooooooooooooooooooooo was I the only one who did think Viola, Oprah or Octavia shouldn't have got it. My first choice was ....

CCH has a new series she's focused on. Scheduling may have been too tough to work out.
Davis has a series as well but maybe she's got more flexibility shedule-wise

One the positives of the comic book films people of color may FINALLY get consistent quality roles.
Over a big superhero movie paycheck? She would of found time and Davis has a series too
Viola is a movie actress who happens to be on tv right now. She wants more film roles. There just weren't any good ones coming her way.
CCH has made a good living on tv and NCIS $ is some of the best steady $ you can get.
Honestly, if CCH wasn't Waller I can see Oprah playing her part. She has the same type of presence as the character and as powerful as she is, it's wouldn't be a stretch for the audience to see in her in that role.
What I'm also really excited about is Amanda's role in the DC Universe. She deep..Hell she is the A.R.G.U.S. storyline. Which mean she should damn near be in every future DC Films especially, the Batman and the Justice League ones....

Both CCH Pounder Viola are good actresses, but Viola is the better choice imo.

After 10-12 years of X-men movies....Marvel ALREADY had to recast younger actors to play Professor X and Magneto in the last 2 movies.
There is a reason they did that.
Because those guys might not be around forever when there is a 3-5 year gap between each film.

You and I see Oprah differently. Honestly, I don't think outside of a few lines in the movie "The Color Purple" she that good of an actress.Also, there is nothing about her or her acting that screams ruthless, smart, demands respect etc which are absolute must for that role.
Viola Davis doesn't have to try to that she already has the chops for all that in abundance. Not to mention she plays Amanda-Lite every week on her current show.

All of the actresses mentioned above would be wonderful as Amanda Waller.

Olivia Spencer has the presence and the acting chops to pull the character off and was on my short list.
