2026 California Governor’s Race

I don’t think Kamala would be a sure shot to win Governor. Additionally, it’s not a good time to be Governor of California. Our education system has declined and will have to be cut more. Multiple tech companies are leaving. Billionaires are leaving. Unemployment is rising. This next term is going to be a nightmare.

Do you think California desperately needs those billionaires?

How do you feel about the wealth tax proposal?

Yes. California needs the wealthy to operate and the wealth tax proposal is bullshit. The top 5% of earners pay 60% of income taxes in California. California has over 3,500,000 adults but 200 Billionaires paid 23% of California's taxes. The idea that "Billionaires aren't paying their fair share" is rooted in entitlement and envy but not facts. The "wealth tax" isn't on income, but on unrealized wealth so Billionaires will have to sell assets to pay it. I don't blame them for leaving for a state that won't force them to do this. So far, California has lost 27 Billion in revenue due to 6 Billionaires leaving California. More will leave if the proposal passes.

California needs to reduce spending rather than continue to raise taxes. Unfortunately, we have too many people focused on hating on people that are making money rather than focusing on earning more money themselves. The cold part about it is that the most outspoken about this issue are underachieving white folks. These people feel entitled to Billionaire's wealth but aren't outspoken about providing Reparations to Black folks who they have had a multi generation economic head start over.

Appreciate the thoughtful response. I want to read a couple of articles before I really reply.
