UPDATE: Donald Trump Takes Office as the 47th US President

The plan is not for the TSA agents to get paid.

The plan is for them eventually get fed up and quit.

Why?

Prior to 9/11, airlines were responsible for airport security. They did a piss poor job of it with all the hijackings, bombs and eventually 9/11.

Security agents in large metropolitan city airports like NY, LA and Chicago got a half decent salary with benefits. Security guards at smaller regional airports were mainly minimum wage workers.

The US Government knee jerk reaction to 9/11 was to take it over and make the security personnel full time, fully trained Federal Workers.

The government created the TSA (against what the GOP said cuz it expanded the government along with the Department of Homeland Security).

It’s been over 20 years since 9/11, majority of Americans have forgotten 9/11.

And now the GOP wants to get rid of TSA and Privatize it. Make airport security into a ‘For Profit’ business.

The GOP wants to privatize all government services. They believe the only thing the government should fund is the military and prisons.

And unfortunately, there are a large number of incumbent Democrats who agree.

Sarasota Florida had private security for years and when I say easy ass airport to get through, it is. Small, but functional

Rising tensions around the Strait of Hormuz have prompted the United States to seek support from international partners for maritime security operations. However, global responses have been cautious and, in many cases, non-committal.
France has indicated reluctance to participate in U.S.-led naval operations, instead emphasizing the need for de-escalation and independent European coordination. China has avoided direct commitments, framing the issue as tied to regional sovereignty and calling for diplomatic solutions.
The United Kingdom has stated it is consulting with allies but has not confirmed any deployment. Similarly, Japan and South Korea—both heavily dependent on energy shipments through the strait—have remained cautious, balancing energy security concerns with their alliances.
Germany has ruled out participation in convoy missions, while Norway has also signaled it will not contribute naval forces.
In the Gulf, energy producers are expressing concern about potential disruptions. Qatar has warned that instability could affect global gas supplies, while officials in the United Arab Emirates have highlighted prior efforts to avoid escalation due to risks to global energy markets.
Meanwhile, Iran has been accused by Western officials of actions that threaten maritime security, including interference with commercial shipping. Tehran has typically denied such allegations and maintains that it is safeguarding its own interests in the region.
Overall, the situation reflects the difficulty of building a unified international response. While discussions are ongoing, there is no clearly defined multinational naval coalition at this stage, underscoring widespread concern about being drawn into a broader regional conflict.
