Listening to the audio of the altercation before the 1st punch was thrown indicates to me that the rapper-dude was on his "I'll pay you when I get it" type shit (he wasn't humble enough, I guess) and that don't mix too well with a dude that's about getting his money.

Before we saw the action, who knows whether or not the rapper-dude was talking while using aggressive hand gestures towards the other dude? Keep your hands to your sides when we're having words, or that's your ass.

Fuck all that shit you're talking. Once he had dude defeated and begging for mercy it should have been over. The kicks and blows to the head of a guy who is semi conscious and obviously defenseless is bitch shit and animal like behavior.
