****Official OKC vs Grizzlies 2nd Round Series thread****

not to take credit away from memphis but westbrook is their mvp. perkins better actually play and ibaka better come with it. this isn't denver, this is memphis inside is going to be a key.

For real.....

I would rather have Anthony Carter than this guy.

You have that big of a front line and take that many shots?

The whole team needs to make him walk to the hotel..

That was an ass whooping....

At home no less?

The Grizz just took Home court.

yep...someone needs to sit his ass down so that he knows they cant win with him playing like this. Even if he made all of his shots, it is not going to work..he shouldn´t be shooting 25 times a game....and 7 fucking turnovers man.... 2-1 assist to turnover ratio is just decent but this cat has a negative ratio with 6 assists and 7 turnovers... for a PG that is completely unacceptable

I wonder if it's because he came over here and played a couple of high school ball with Pau. He has a mean streak.

Now people can stop saying Memphis got taken advantage of in the Pau trade, it made them a better team.

they didn't, lakers were playing for then, memphis was playing for now
they both win

Westbrook is way overrated.

How in the hell did he get voted into the last All-Star Game?

Westbrook is a beast. He's just not a true pg and has trouble running the team. He's a shooting guard. OKC is going to have to address that at some point. They should really look hard at a Westbrook for CP3 trade in the off-season(if cp3 is willing to sign long term)

dude I understand that he was a beast of the regular season, but he withered and went into hibernation in today's game.

The grizzlies are too physical for him.

nah the grizzlies do need rudy they can still play inside out with him and he see's that they can win without him when he comes back he's going to want to be a part, he doesn't strike me as a ego driven player, especially given how supportive he's been and seems on the sidelines. with rudy they get that perimeter go to guy that they do not have right now. they have inside go to on lock, if you need a big drive or big 3 or some slash or something they don't have that, cause they're missing rudy.

this is a new westbrook this isn't the one that has been playing and showing up all year, this is bizzaro westbrook and i don't know why in the world he's playing and acting like this, but that's on him

You might be right about Rudy depending.....I know they gave him that big contract and with that comes Ego. So we will see.

As for WB hes a Two Guard plain and simple.

Couldn't even take time to post in the thread during the game. The crib was excited as fuck lol.

Go Grizz. :cool::dance::cool:

I brought this up last time.

People ask me who are the best Point Guards in the league and I will name three PGs before I even get to Rose and Westbrook.

THese short ass shooting guards being oved to the point have fucked up the league.

They never last in this league.

Marbury, Arenas, Francis and I can keep going. While the true pass first PGs can have been known to play till their late 30's.

also you bring up a good damn trade and if I'm OKC I holla at NO for real. They would do that.

Man...that dude doesnt know shit about basketball. Grizzly got in the thunders ass all season and cause real matchup problems for the Thunder....all about matchups... wont be the same if they get out of this round, but the Thunder are a perfect matchup for them.

The OKC bigs aren't great offensively. I haven't seen a lot of OKC this season, but from what I've seen Ibaka seems more of a jump shooter than a post player and Perkins has never done shit offensively. But this is a great win for the Grizz. They have a realistic shot at making the Finals, although I don't think they can handle LA's big men.

Exactly....

That hero ball leaves the front line out of position for rebounding. Against the Grizz you better be on point.

Those dudes hustle to everything.

Then the turnovers......

Memphis Grizzlies are a problem! With every win, they are looking more and more like the class of the West. I know it's early and match ups are what make a series, but looking at the west, they will give anybody who is left problems! The Lakers better hope if they make it past Dallas both Bynum and Gasol stay healthy... If not... and they have to face Memphis... :itsawrap:

:idea:mmmm I remember some Nets fan on this board saying what OKC was going to do.

:ssshhh::tut:

Hell yea I had OKC getting to the WCF and I don't change I stick to what I said. Kevin will win a MVP. One thing I didn't considered that Russell Westbrook who was discipline last year and played with in the system would turn to second coming of Marbury :lol:

dude nearly average 4 turnover this year and shot 200 more shots than last season.

Still don't get it twisted OKC is still on the right road and their second year in the playoffs they are doing good.

Kevin Durant has to be an asshole now. He has to call out Westbrook or something. Your pg can't be taking 30 shots when you have KD on your team

I want a rematch with OKC and the Lakers....

However....

The Grizz might be exposing them.

LA doesn't have the hustle of the Grizz so it would be different.

The Thunder played very soft today.

They need to match the intensity and physicality of the Grizzlies before it is too late.

LOL funny but didn't the same thing was said about the spurs. People are finally seeing what I've been seeing for the past 2 to 3 years thru the rebuilding.

I don't want see a rematch with OKC because LA matches up better with the Grizz, who haven't faced a team with big men like LA. San Antonio's bigs are undersized and Duncan's dominance is done. 4 years ago he would have made destroyed Z-Bo, but now :smh::smh::smh:. OKC's big men are offensively challenged, Ibaka's still raw and Perkins doesn't score. LA's big men have the size and can dominate both sides of the ball. Bynum is the big X-factor in the West.

props but let me ask you this. Mayo was nearly traded twice. (once to Golden State and twice to the Pacers) and now Rudy is hurt and they are having all this success, What do you do??

Mayo is likely gone and will not be extended but what about Rudy?

Westbrooks been watching all his ESPN highlights and Scott Brooks needs to be called out immediately, this performance was atrocious all around.

We have Henry that's gone for the season as well. Henry can replace Mayo when he comes back next year and we can get a three point shooter in trade for Mayo. And for Rudy he was being more of a team player before he was injured. His scoring went down due to passing more and his rebounds, assist and steals went up. So I have High expectations for the Grizzlies.

as should be I gave you shit the other day but I can't front that team future is promising as hell.

I can't name a team who high draft pick (mayo) didn't work out and it's no big deal for them.

Celtics would kill for Tony Allen now. Hell I would kill for him.

These guys actually can put shane and Tony on the court at the same time:hmm::hmm::hmm:

It's rare, but its happened before...

Westbrook hasn't been the same since he received all that criticism for that 30 shot game in the Denver series. Barkley called him selfish and Wilbon called it "ego ball". Seems like he can't take criticism...

as is typical, fans tremendously undervalue the contributions of defensive players.

how quickly people forget that the grizzlies were still a LOSING squad (THIS season) before tony allen got the starting gig.

shane battier also gave the grizzlies the shot in the arm they needed down the stretch.

Memphis is balling with Rudy being out. No matter what happens this playoffs, the Grizz will be a force in the western conference for a few years.

You can say that again.

I wonder if the novelty of the Grizzlies advancing will produce better ratings than the Spurs would have.
