God says there are no non believers. There are believers and those that attempt to suppress the belief. It's so obvious with this clown.
Yall religious folks are nutty.God says there are no non believers. There are believers and those that attempt to suppress the belief. It's so obvious with this clown.
Yall religious folks are nutty.Does speaking English prove you are white?

really? So why was Constantine having councils on what dogma christian should believe in the year 325 AD so he could end the fighting and bickering amongst the christians?
Why was Rome the center of christianity in 70 AD?
Bruh, I provided you with just as many links in our last debate as you provided for me.
I am speaking of history. And the following facts cannot be denied.
1. The majority of slaves brought here were not xtians nor did they speak English.
2. Slaves were not permitted to practice their native religions.
3. Most white slave owners and most white people that didn't own slaves were xtians.
4. Eventually slaves and free black people were encouraged to accept xtianity.
that i agree with because that DID happen...by people WHO WERE NOT SLAVE OWNERS< and it WAS NOT BY FORCE. maybe you're starting to come out of your hallucinations.Wait, wasn't Paul a Roman citizen? How the fuck could he be spreading that shit in Rome in 40-60AD and it not reach Europe into two centuries later?![]()

hoo boy you're stupid.
you said that the bible was written by white people. it was written in aramaic. aramaic is not now nor ever been a "white" language.
you proved you didn't know what you're talking about.
europeans had not reached the subasiatic region during biblical times.
what we speak now has no bearing on what they spoke then.

hey, i already said i wasn't going to debate you, because you're crazy.
no, you really are.
you don't let things like actual TANGIBLE evidence, accessible WRITTEN history, first hand testimony, legal DOCUMENTS, NEWS ARTICLES, or any other proof that is considered valid IN COURT sway you from believing in the fairy tales YOU cannot prove with one whit of evidence.
Christianity in Africa
"Christianity in Africa is so old that it can be rightly described as an indigenous, traditional and African religion," says Dr. John Mbiti, author of the Early Church and Africa. The Egyptian Coptic Church in the Sudan and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church still exist today. The Copts played a leading role in the development of the early Christian church. They made their most important contribution to Christianity from the late A.D. 200's to the mid-300's, when a Copt, Anthony of Thebes, founded the early Christian monastic movement.
World Book Multimedia Encyclopedia (Copts heading) ©2001, World Book, Inc.
The idea that Christianity is a White or European religion is a myth fostered by the narrow memories of White racists, who do not distinguish between:
- cultural adherence to a religious doctrine
- and full-hearted commitment to Christ as rightful Lord of one's life.
The extent of one's "Christian" heritage is irrelevant in a faith that demands that each listener must personally accept Christ. Biblical Christianity teaches that Jesus is relevant to all peoples and not bound to Western cultural forms.
Ischei, Elizabeth A History of Christianity in Africa from Antiquity to the Present Lawrenceville, N.J. Africa World Press: Grand Rapids, Mich: 1995 Eerdmans.
One of the main reasons why masters did not want their slaves to become Christians involved the Bible. They feared that slaves might interpret the teachings of Jesus Christ as being in favour of equality. This was one of the main reasons why most plantation owners did what they could to stop their slaves from learning to read.
The Slave Trade (Religion and Slavery) taken from:Spartacus Internet Encyclopedia
Additionally, there was heated resistance to evangelizing among slaves. Black scholar C. Eric Lincoln tells us there were three principal reasons for this: "(1) the hearing of the gospel required time that could be economically productive; (2) slaves gathered together in a religious assembly might become conscious of their own strength and plot insurrections under cover of religious instruction; (3) there was an English tradition of long standing that once a slave became a Christian he could no longer be held a slave."
C. Eric Lincoln, "The Development of Black Religion in America," Review and Expositor 70 (Summer 1973):302. As quoted in the article: Black Theology, Black Power, and the Black Experience
your belief that Christianity was forced on slaves in the US is not only a LIE, it is completely UNPROVABLE.
ironically, that idea is the racist white man's ideology, and you have BELIEVED it hook line and sinker!
you believe what THE WHITE MAN TOLD YOU!
AND you BELIEVE it...with out a SHRED of EVIDENCE.
that sir, is called FAITH.
but the amazing thing is, your faith can EASILY be DISPROVED by US HISTORY, AND i have PROVIDED the proof!
but you laugh at US...
like i said...i'm not debating with you...cause you are INSANE.

hoo boy you're stupid.

Rome did not accept Christianity officially until 380 AD. before then Christianity was a sect, looked down upon, and Christians were fed to lions in the arenas for public entertainment. they were the scapegoats for everything from sickness to the burning down of Rome in 64 AD. they were persecuted for almost 300 years there.
LMAO...see, that's the thing about you being crazy. in that other thread you provided links to speeches by Malcom X, but you didnt provide any HISTORY...just speeches with unsubstantiated rhetoric.
and NOW you're saying Africans were encouraged to accept Christianity.that i agree with because that DID happen...by people WHO WERE NOT SLAVE OWNERS< and it WAS NOT BY FORCE. maybe you're starting to come out of your hallucinations.
as said earlier, at that time Christianity wasn't accepted as an official religion. the persecuted Christians ran to other parts of Europe which carried their religion out there, but it wasn't adopted. the churches in Africa had already accepted and been practicing it for twenty or so years before that.
i am really encouraged and happy that i'm forcing you cats to study up on this, even if its only to fight me, at least im getting you all to put down your beliefs and actually research this stuff.
You can't be serious. You are a fool. In your book of fables, the bible, Romans soldiers arrested Jesus. Europeans didn't reach subasiatic region in biblical times?

I have always said your definition of force is twisted. There was a point and time where slave masters started to offer xtianity to slaves. It was either xtianity or no religion, that is basically force.
Most of the white people against slavery were xtians. Again, either accept their religion or lose favor with them. That is basically force. They sure as shit weren't going to stick up for heathens practicing tribal religions.
Whites have always done this wherever they went. Take xtianity or you can fuck off.
Back then I would have had my ass in church every fucking day and twice on Sunday. Fuck, I wouldn't have known my own history. The only religion I would have known was xtianity. I wouldn't have known any other religon ever existed. I would have thought that was normal. If you don't educate a people you FORCE them to take up any bullshit you give them. Only book the CAC would let us get to was that bullshit bible.
Also face it, if your Jesus existed him and his click probably looked like Bin Laden. Some old Arab/middle eastern looking muthafuckas. The CACs got black people trying to change shit up just like the CAC tried to make Jesus blue eyed and blonde.

The Amorites. This was an Indo-European tribe who invaded Asia Minor (Turkey) from the Aegean sea around 1500 BC, and were noted amongst the local people for worshipping a hammer wielding "Thunder God" - obviously related to the North European

I feel sorry for all the nay-sayers in this thread, what a day it would be if in their life time jesus returned. What would they say then? It would be far too late for words. What if he DOESN'T exist? Or better yet,if he is benevolent and non vengeful, why would he "punish" unbelievers? Especially since he didnt want to come down and show his face all these years? BUT my beliefs aside, let's talk about what RELIGION has done for BLACK PEOPLE or PEOPLE in general since so many believe it's dumb to follow and is nothing but a myth. On the flip side, religion actually tempered rebellions.Christianity taught slaves to just "take" their mistreatment and pray so that someday they will be free or in heaven.Without that false hope, slaves would have been more motivated to try and escape/revolt."I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs."
Frederick Douglass
For those who follow a religion, or the bible for that matter, they stay out of trouble. They don't condone violence and they try to avoid it, they aim for peace on earth, they learn to not be envious, not be commit adultery, not to fornicate/have kids out of wedlock, among many other things. So whether the GOD being worshiped is real or not, the morals and social etiquette taught by these religions or the bible, provide a better life for it's followers. It's a hard life to live with temptation lurking at every corner but for those who follow they live a better life.
Could you imagine if there was no religion, nothing for anyone to look up to? Imagine all the Christians and such from other religions now suddenly without no religion to turn to.. The earth would experience far more murders, far more robberies, far more suicides, far more rapes, etc.. Hell on Earth would be our reality. A lot of criminals, through jail or bad events turn their lives over to Christ or a higher being, imagine if that outlet wasn't there?
Are "Christian" countries the safest in the world? Japan(Buddist) and Cyprus(Muslim) are among the safest in the world. Do most people avoid crimes because of Christianity or to avoid breaking the law?
So if you don't want to believe that's all fine and dandy for you, but don't try to force your negative views on anyone. Yall just sound miserable with your own lives when you do. And any Christian should know that they shouldn't force their views on others, offer it, if they choose to hear it then so be it, if not then let it go. But there are far more positives for believing in something than there are to not believe in something. Actually,Christians will attack you for simply questioning their beliefs.ESPECIALLY black women. They will start out trying to debate, then attack you then totally ignore you when you state logical points.Christianity definitely isn't logical and in a debate,Christians will just say "Well you just have to have faith,Im going to pray for you!"IMO there are more positives to believe in yourself and make things happen on your own then pray for it.Who will be more successful getting out of the hood, the one who stays at home and prays about it or the one atheist who makes a plan, goes to work/school and tries to make it happen? Oh thats right,"God helps those who help themselves".![]()

if you could prove anything you're saying you would have by now. you have not provided ANYTHING to prove what you believe to have happened.
this is not just FAITH, it's BLIND faith.
stop lying to yourself and stop lying to me, cause i can't stand it when uninformed dishonest people decide to debate stuff. it's silly.
i WISH you would read up on what really happened, but you're either too scared to, or too lazy. the real history tells you that abolitionists are the ones who brought Christianity to slaves, not SLAVE MASTERS.
challenge to you: please post ONE LINK that tells me when ONE SLAVE MASTER FORCED Christianity on ANY slaves.
just ONE.
dont post what Malcolm X said, post the source where he got his material.
until then you're just like emily blunt, saying stuff happened but never providing any PROOF of it!
you cannot provide any evidence that slave masters held a religion day and offered slaves their choice, and you for damn sure can't prove that slave masters used the DICTIONARY DEFINITION of force to make slaves accept Christianity.
you can TRY to redefine the word, but when you're done, you're still just as wrong.
LOL at you guys.
By 1800, laws already forbid teaching slaves to read or write. In the early part of the nineteenth century, the Virginia General Assembly enacted measures prohibiting the education of the increasing free black population. Slaves were forbidden to hold their own church meetings, but they were instructed by white ministers who emphasized the slaves' Christian duty to be loyal to their masters.
How was Christianity used to justify & reinforce slavery?
- Slaves were taught that the "Curse of Ham" in the Bible was justification for the African race being labeled as inferior.
- Examples of slavery in the Bible were pointed to as evidence that God must have found it permissible.
- Slaves were taught to model the example of the Jews in slavery in Egypt: Wait for God to deliver them; don't try to rebel through planning or resistance.
- Jesus' humility and submission was constantly discussed in order to teach slaves to "turn the other cheek," rather than rebel against unjust treatment.
- The focus in Christianity is often on reward in the next life (heaven) for enduring injustice in this life. That, of course, encourages submission.
Other slave-owners decided to educate their slaves in opposition to a central government telling them what they could and could not do with their “property”. Other Christians felt that personal reading and understanding of the Bible was essential to salvation and therefore taught their slaves to read.

It's a damn shame you won't admit our ancestors were forced into the religion you worship. I guess you have to justify it somehow.

You want to learn to read? Read the bible. You want white folks helping you? Turn to xtians. Oh yeah, not to mention if you get caught practicing your own religion you will be beat until you can't take it anymore.
But you are an xtian, you cherry pick shit by default(that is how xtians use the bible, cherry pick the parts they want and disregard other shit lol). So you cherry pick from the slave masters that didn't want to convert slaves instead of paying attention to all the ones that did. You also don't recognize how missions are basically force and a arm of white imperlialism.
It's dictionary time for Buk.....
forced, forc·ing, forc·es 1. To compel through pressure or necessity
a. To gain by the use of force or coercion
To inflict or impose relentlessly: He forced his ideas upon the group.
Tell me, do I have to provide links for the definition of force too?
What is sad is it is 2011 and black folks won't acknowledge their ancestors were forced into this religion.![]()

He's a religious nut.. what do you expect?
Slaves were forbidden to speak their native African languages or practice their native religions. Slave owners could kill a slave without punishment.

John Jea was born in West Africa in 1773, enslaved at the age of two, and brought to New York. (The colony and later the state of New York allowed slavery until 1827.) In his autobiography or “narrative” of his life, written about 1811, Jea tells of his conversion to Christianity. After being baptized, he was freed and became a preacher.
In this excerpt, from the beginning of his narrative, Jea tells about the conditions on his first master’s farm. He also describes the way both his master and the white minister used Christianity to preach obedience to the slaves and to convince them of their worthlessness.
African slaves lost their previous identity in the New World. Those who survived the horrors of the Atlantic crossing were stripped of their names, their customs, and their religion. They were given new first names (either "common" names such as John or Thomas, or historical names such as Caesar or Cato) and the surnames of their masters. They were forced to accept a strange new religion with a single god that replaced the many gods and spirits that they had known before. According to their masters, this religion justified their situation. The Puritans used their beliefs to justify all things, including the slave trade. Puritan theologian Cotton Mather preached directly to the slaves calling them the "miserable children of Adam and Noah," and told them that God had doomed them to become slaves. Other preachers used a misreading of a biblical story concerning Noah and one of his sons, saying that the Africans were to suffer "The curse of Ham." By 1703 a series of laws appeared on the books restricting the movements of the slaves.
Most don't have the strength to break free.
