Why not. If you can decide you don't want to have sex with me even if I am standing but naked in front of you, why can't it work the other way.

If you think about a friends with benefits relationship or the jump off relationship. If they decide not to have sex then it is a plotonic relationship. You are comfortable with the person and know you don't want to spend the rest of your life with that person but care for each other only you not having sex.
Look at when 2 people who started out with a sexual relationship and realize that they are not right or ready for each other but still like each other and enjoy each other and become good friends after.
A guy can start talking to a girl because he was trying to get some sex from her but then he realize he is not willing to pay the price of having sex with her (not speaking financially) but he still care for her as a friend and likes her company and she likes him for similar reasons.
I think females believe men are not capable of having such relationships but I wan't you'll to know if you believe you can be my friend without raping me I promise you I can do the same. Even if you keep talkng to me about sleeping with me and always talking about sex I can accept it as you being you. I can entertain the conversation or cut it off and we still be friends.
