Eminem Presents Shady Records 2.0 in New XXL Complete story to be told exclusively in the March 2011 XXL magazine on stands nationally February 8…

Rap supergroup Slaughterhouse and budding superstar Yelawolf signed to Eminem’s Shady Records, it was announced today (January 12); and the entire new roster will all appear in the March 2011 issue of XXL magazine.

“Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse, it’s kinda phase two of Shady,” says Eminem. “It’s the new generation of Shady Records and as we’re trying to rebuild our label, it’s exciting for hip-hop and with all of these forces coming together and with what everybody’s capable of on the mic, it’s gonna be fun.”

Bringing together the East Coast, West Coast and Detroit in the middle, Slaughterhouse consists of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5’9”. Most recently, Slaughterhouse was featured on “Session One,” a bonus track on Eminem’s 2010 blockbuster Recovery album. Eminem is expected to be personally involved in Slaughterhouse’s sophomore album scheduled for release in 2011.

Said Royce Da 5’9″: “It’s very exciting for me to reunite with Eminem years after our Bad Meets Evil project together. Slaughterhouse on Shady Records will be a force to reckon with.”

Late last year, Yelawolf released Trunk Muzik 0-60, a compilation of select tracks from his critically acclaimed 2010 mixtape Trunk Muzik, along with six previously unavailable songs. The Alabama native is currently in the studio recording his full length major label debut.

Said Yelawolf: “Considering where I’m from and the shit I’ve been through, it’s hard to put into words what partnering with Shady means to me, my team at Ghet-O-Vision, and my state of Alabama. I can tell you that when you’re willing to give your life up to see a dream through, the reward is great. And now that I’ve become an apprentice to one of the greatest artists in the world, my potential reaches beyond anything I ever imagined. Let’s kill this shit.”

Shady Records was founded in 1999 by Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg. D12, the label’s first signing, were also Shady’s first breakout stars, selling more than four million albums in the U.S. In 2002, the label released the quadruple platinum 8 Mile soundtrack, with its hit single “Lose Yourself”–the first hip-hop song to win an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Shady Records then partnered with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment to ink 50 Cent, who subsequently has sold more than 23 million albums worldwide. Of Shady’s 11 albums to date, four have earned U.S. multiplatinum certification, three others platinum (including the compilation Eminem Presents: The Re-Up) and two gold. The label has sold over 40 million albums worldwide.

Instantly becomes easily the most talented roster in rap.

And also the most boring. I'd rather listen to Jay, J. Cole and Electronica over Slaughterhouse though.

I want to hear Yelawolf's shit. I fucks with some of his music. Em's fans gonna eat up Yelawolfs shit.

Em got on Python AM90s?

But yeah, I'd rather listen to Electronica out of all of them put together... Yellawolf is cool, but he has yet to keep my attention for more than a single. Seen him perform out here @ Apache though. He brings a crowd.

I agree with everything you said. And that white boy from bama is about to blow the fuck up.

- basically. cats are jealous because that man on the end to the far right of your screen, and the man 2 people down to his left, are murdering everybody on the mic right now.

and wait until those 2 get on the same track

:itsawrap:

Yessir. I was just telling someone that Slaugterhouse will either flop or not even see a release date. But in regards to Yelawolf? They're going to eat his shit up. Its going to be interesting to see the route they take with him because he really doesn't make commercial pop shit. But he's capable of doing it.

I still remember this dude being on that Missy Elliot show and got kicked off like the 2nd episode because he couldn't rap on some rinky dink ass Missy shit. He's the only one even relevant from that show now.

I C/S a what you said but I hate yela wolf.

I don't get the buzz around Yellawolf. :dunno:

I want to hear Slaughterhouse on some sure fire production though.

I don't like that white guy at ALL. And Slaughterhouse is the absolute positIVE truth. I listened to the white guys song on youtube once. And then i listened to his verse on Big Boi's song. and i just don't see it at all. I do not feel anything he has to say at all.

Em needs to put a good amount of energy and production into d12 and Slaughterhouse. Putting out Crooked I's solo album And just sit back and watch Hip Hop enter a new golden era.

Yelawolf has this awkward flow and voice that takes patience to get used too. But I understand why he's hit or miss. But Em's crowd will love him. Especially if they love that but ass album Recovery.

im just happy ortiz bout to eat. he deserves it. dude been on 100% straight grind, avoiding all beef and putting out work consistently for bout 2 years straight now.

YelaWolf is wack as hell, but good move by Em for signing him though that was a business move (do the math)

Never saw an episode but i vaguely remember it. He was on that show?

Slaughterhouse boring? ive heard it all now

congrats to Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf..i dont think Em would do them dirty at all..i think he understands we need more real hip-hop out there in the mainstream

My daughter been up on him for a minute
he is a real nice down to earth and humble cat too.

But Mr. Woodz. How can i be mad at liking Slaughterhouse which is real hip hop. And not liking a guy who in my view just doesn't have it? He doesn't spit fire. There's nothing about his style that is appealing. Nothing about his rhymes that are intriguing. Joe who is probably the weakest of Slaughterhouse blows this guy out of the water in every aspect.

Not to change the subject, but you really think Joey is the weakest member of slaughterhouse???

i think one of the biggest problems with hip hop right now is that everyone is always trying to compare one person top someone else.
Why compare ? Let them do what they do and let the next xat do wht he does......bottom line is ....
Somebody like that shit and they got signed
whole lot of naysayers wish they could get at least that far.

Dude is coming like it or not....watch !

Yea no mo hawk or tats though. You don't ever see it mentioned anywhere. I seen it on some site though and I was like damn I do remember a white cat from Alabama who was named Yelawolf. This was pre-tats and mohawk though.

Out of all the 3 labels I spoke with, Shady was the only one who gave me negative reviews on my music. I looked at their roster before hand and I was like they don't have nobody on there doin commercial type music or anything. I guess they still just want straight hood rap/hardcore rap or whatever. Wish em luck tho, congrats to em.
