Sirius XM Preparing Bankruptcy Papers...

Its was simple for XM, get Stern; Sirius would have folded in a month thus XM would be alive and probably way more better off than Sirius is today.

I think another poster said it right. Everytime he gets paid, he throws $100 into the stock. I've been following this stock since it went from .25 to .12 now up to 1.20's. Unfortunately I got out at .70's, but my point being, if they're shooting for 7.00 in a year then it's worth investing some $$$$. I think it's evident Sirius isn't going away. Time for all of us to get more out of BGOL than just porn and Rick Ross mixtapes. :D:D

yea that's my thought process,i got a couple thousand shares,if it reaches $8 thats a pretty good turn for me.

i got in apple at 79 bucks and sold ad 200,not making the same mistake again, gonna ride this one out!
just waiting on stern to resign now and send it soaring

You got Oprah and she brought in ZERO subscribers eventually leading to Sirius usurping XM.

Wrong. Oprah brought in subs. She didn't bring in the number that Stern did, however:
(1) On a SAC basis, the deal was FAR more profitable than the Stern deal was for Sirius. It wasn't the more popular deal - but for a company who isn't profitable yet, it was the far more economical deal.

Stern: $620,000,000 / 1,200,000 subs acquired = $516.66 SAC
Oprah: $55,000,000 / 150,000 subs acquired = $366.66 SAC

(2) The Stern Deal turned out to be a Pyrrhic Victory for Sirius. The amount of financing, leverage, and dilution they had to do to get Stern and NASCAR essentially left them with nothing really left in the tank. Their financials were destroyed even more than they were previously and the heavy money VC and investors who put money into them basically demanded a buyout of the competition to see profitability because there was no other way they were going to do it on their own.

3 years later -- well --- :smh::smh:

Heist hook me up with a subscription.. I'm on the 3 month trail right now lol

Its was simple for XM, get Stern; Sirius would have folded in a month thus XM would be alive and probably way more better off than Sirius is today.

Another reason XM walked away when the Stern numbers got out of hand was XM had to replace its satellites. The Boeing 702's had a manufacturing defect in the solar panels AND a design defect in the primary and secondary computers, which Boeing knew about and kept secret.

We launched Rock and Roll with the expectation of a ~20 years usable lifespan. The defects cut that life 10-12(!). We had one spare (Rhythm), but had to launch it ($100MM to launch and insure) and needed to build a 4th (Blues) ($120MM to build + $100MM to launch and insure), so in all there was ~$350MM expenditures coming due in about 12 months which needed to be taken into account before stroking any deal with any new high priced talent.

When you roof needs replacement, you don't go out and buy a Porsche and then put rims on it. :)

I do the same... except replace the word "stock" with the phrase, the bank. I'm a CD & bonds kind of guy. I buy stocks from time to time (when something happens to devalue an established company) but I'm in an out like a thief in the night.

Just about a year year and a half ago I argued with a lot of cats here about Satellite radio not being a sure thing. Folks kept popping off about how radio was dead and XM/sirius was taking over.

Radio is still dead. Only in these times you never know what's recession resistant? :smh:

here is the wash.... sirus will be profitable in 3 years if they get rid of karamzin...

sirus has 8million suscribers...
another 20 million unsubscribed units in cars that arent willing to pay the high price point...

they need to lower the suscription and get thos other 20million signed up...

that would be almost 30million subscribers...

it isn't that high

XM, when HD radio is free?

HD radio doesn't have the content....I don't listen to XM for music I listen to it for knowledge....

I am in my car for about 7 hours a day. I live on Sirius/XM
huge Stern fan...hes the reason why me and 6 million other people signed up. IF hes so racist why are Chris Rock T-Pain, TI, Earthquake, Tracey Morgan (the best guest ever!) on their constantly. Foxxhole is good as well.
I could never go back to listening to "Ice Pick and Mudhole in the morning" on whatever HOT or MAGIC FM stations are out there

I spend most of my time on urbanview 126

I only pay $50 a year for car and mobile app to me that's a good price.. 126, 148,127, 111, 119 & 112 for me

How u get the mobile app included at that price?
I called them to cancel my trial subscription a year ago and was offered that deal... I was the type of person that would create one email every month in order to have access for free..

You can get it every time when it's time t renew. Just call them to cancel your account and they will always offer the $25 for 6 months deal.
