Stat juking. That may have been the case back when that now bullshit stat came about, but the materials they use alone cost more than 4 dollars nowadays. That may be what they pay their overseas employees an hour, but the price is more than likely around 45-50 if you account for overhead, materials... If you wanna include R&D of cutting edge tech, and marketing budgets the price easily creeps to 70-80... Still not the 150 they sell for, but it aint that cheap to make a pair of Js, or upper echelon Nikes... If youre talkin a basic pair of uptowns you mat be right though...

im still in the sneaker game but im in part time. i got loans and bills to pay, besides im stacking up for a car. most dudes you see like that homo in the vid are either in HS, college, or live with their parents without paying any bills. because i cant see myself paying $400 for a pair for sneakers when im up to my neck in loans

Purchase & storage of the material? R&D? Marketing? Shipping costs from Asia? Shipping costs from the port to Nike's American DCs? Shipping from Nike to each retail distributor? The worst part is that kneegrows coming in here defending Nike, a billion dollar corporation, who could care less about the impact of doing these "until midnight" sales, when a great deal of their client base for these shoes are low income dudes, gangbangers, etc. Look at the mentality of these guys--it's not like if they miss getting some shoes they will shrug their shoulders and be like, "oh well, better luck next time". Companies know the supply demand game well, but pretend they don't know how violent people can get when a product is limited to certain quantities. I remember people getting robbed for PS2's, Nintendo 64's, The Jordan sneakers from Space Jam, liquor on new years eve...the list goes on. When quantity is an issue, violence is an option.
