Since when did Paul Pierce turn into Kobe Bryant?

And no I don't have shit against the Celtics. It's just crazy the shit dude talks and does. Like the bowing in the Garden last night. Or like how after the Finals he said he was the best player in the world. Or how he basically dismissed the Knicks before the game. Or how after they beat the Heat and Magic, the shit talking he was doing in his tweets.... And it's not like I'm using Kobe as the litmus test but he is the standard ring bearer of this generation...I could see Kobe doing that shit,I don't think he's as great as everyone says but he damn sure has the hardware to talk that kind of shit. Paul talks elite shit, and to be honest he's never been an elite player, especially on his "own" or with decent talent around he didn't lead the Celtics to shit.

Pierce talks shit like he's been in 7 Finals like Kobe has or has 5 rings..shit dude doesn't even have 2 rings. Where was all this shit talking when you in a perennial first round battle with the damn Hornets?:lol: I don't get how he throws shots at the Heat when he himself received Hall of Fame help.. And before that help..dude was little more than Tracy Mcgrady the First Round Wonder..

He was a big time player since his rookie days without a Shaq to lean on.

When has Kobe ever score 40 points in the 4th quarter?

Look, I'm a die-hard Lakers fan, but...

you are way off base. Pierce goes head up with Kobe and LeBron when the pressure is on in the playoffs. he's definitely an elite player and can talk shit if he wants to.

PP has always been a big shot / last second shot maker.

Dude's game is 80's level of basic and boring - but no one can seem to stop him in that last 1:00 of the game.

As for the shit popping; well - he's only had a Championship caliber squad around him for the last 4 years. I guess it was all pent up and he's letting it out now.

Seriously before 07 was Paul Pierce in your top 10 NBA players be serious.......

All this.

Way to kill the thread, guys.

Thats the thing, he's just really become a perennial playoff factor. How can you throw shots at the Heat when you didn't do shit without Hall of Fame help? And with the team not at full strength in the Finals, Ron Artest outplayed Pierce on both ends.

wow, kobe didn't do shit when her was playing with the Smush Parker's of the world either. FJp, you're tripping on this one.

Alex you not catching what I'm saying. I'm not saying Pierce isn't a good player. All I'm saying is the LEVEL of shit he pops is ridiculous considering that he doesn't have the hardware to back it up. That's all. All I'm saying is HOW do you throw shots at teams getting All Star Help when YOU yourself didn't do shit until you got All Star Help. Kobe didn't do shit with Smush, I bring that up all the time. But Kobe even with 5 rings doesn't pop anywhere near the shit Paul does.

Who gets stabbed 11 times, walks out the hospital in a week and carries a dead franchise on their backs with 6 All Star performances, then leads the team to a ring the first year they get help? That's some Tupac shit, man. Like I said, I'm no Celtics/Pierce fan by a stretch. But I gotta give respect where it's due. Dude was a pack mule for the Celtics for years, for better or worse. There were times when you could say the Celtics, sucked, but not Pierce himself. He earned the right to talk mo' shit than a lil' bit.

Where did you see me say he was in my Top-10.

I just said he was a big shot / last second shot maker. Sort of like the second coming of Robert Horry.

If the game was close or tied with anything less than :30 seconds on the clock Robert would assassinate you. He'd always hit some game tying 3 pt or the last second 2 pt jumper.[

The problem was PP was mostly playing for 2nd rate teams most of his career - even the Celts until they got the Big-3, so he didn't get much T/V time for people to see.

PP consistently scores the quietest 20+ pts a game each game though. Like I said, his game is like watching something out of 1980's. Real basic. But he makes it work.

Didnt mean to quote you.

Maybe I come from a different school of thought. Cause last time I checked there were only 3-5 Elite players in the league in any year. And at no time I have ever seen Paul Pierce discussed as a top 3 player..by anybody.

Man Pierce is a hall of famer and obviously somewhat under-appreciated. Laker fan here, but I super respect "The Truth"

Paul Pierce has been the truth since high school... I watched him get busy in the McDonald's All American game and he's been getting busy ever since... And let's not forget his performance in the finals that Boston won... He's always been an elite player in my book... The fact is... paul didn't have the supporting cast that Kobe had for most of his career.

I think some of yall think I'm saying Kobe is so much better than Paul. I'm not. I think Paul is far more clutch than Kobe because he hits big playoff shit way more often than Kobe. All I'm saying is that whether we like it or not, sidekick or not, Kobe is the ring bearer of this generation. Kobe just happened to be the example, I could have used Tim Duncan. All I was saying is that Pierce pops shit like he has multiple rings, finals appearances, MVPs. Pierce talks like an "overseer" Like how Brady and Belicheck talk..

Pierce has always been good. Just has a good/great team around him with some coaching. Put Kobe on a wack team and see what he can do NOTHING.

That is not true.

People simply do not recall all the shit that Kobe has done in the playoffs, because he's played so many big games in the playoffs.

Do we even NEED to be reminded of the times Kobe had to carry the Lakers offense during those times that Shaq would have to be benched because of his inability to hit free-throws?

They even went as far as changing the rules because they wanted to keep Shaq on the floor.

Kobe doesn't have a lot of game-ending play-off shots, but dude has been more than clutch for the Lakers since they started winning rings. It's just that it's easy to remember individual shots at the end of games, than consecutive points scored that put the game out of reach.

On EVERY Lakers championship squad, Kobe was the dude with his ball in his hands to shoot or distribute. That's not even arguable. Shaq did the damn thing, but Kobe was always given the opportunity to finish off the opponent.

I'll say this: Even when Kobe was on a wack team, he was able to remain relevant because of his individual play. Paul Pierce is definitely clutch...

...but he is not going to wow you with individual play if he isn't winning. A wack team is management's fault - not the superstars fault. When management did their job, the Lakers started winning.

you know whats going to happen right?

Man, Paul Pierce is The Truth, for real... December 1, 2001, i watched this cat single-handedly dismantle the Nets with a 48-point performance, 46 of which were in the fuckin second half. Box Score Here

Me and my nephew were behind the Celt's bench talkin MEGA shit first half. Dis nigga looks up in the stands before halftime and just nods like... ok. After dumbin' out for 46 in the second half, and winning the game, he stood up on the scorer's table with his arms up lookin right at us, as if to say, "Pop dat shit now, bitches!", as my nephew and I slunk in our fuckin seats. :smh:

I am a true Celtic fan (long before PP) and must chime in on this thread. The Truth has always been a premiere player in Boston. He in his own right is a future Hall of Famer as well (no matter who joined the team in the past 3 seasons). The team just hasn't been placed on national display until he received the other future hall of fame help. The only exception would be the 02 Eastern Conference Finals. Maybe you remember it, since the Celtics did in fact play the Nets losing in six games. Who do you think kept them in it that long? You guessed it, The Truth. He hasn't always had help but he has been consistently been putting up solid numbers. Say what you will about the dude but every now and then lots of players in the league after they have a good game deserve to talk a little smack. Just my 2 cents

are you serious? Do you just make stuff up, bruh? Hell kobe wasn't that relevant in the first two championships.

OP,you may not like him,but....

He is headed to the Hall of Fame,he is an NBA championship MVP and one of the best clutch players of this generation.

If he wasn't a Celtic,I would probably be pissed off like you....

But he is,so keep hate alive:lol:

Hold on, so in your opinion, there are only 3-5 elite players in the league? Well then wtf is the point of the All-Star voting? You bron, D-wade and Amare right now and everyone else is bums? C'mon fam, you trippin with that.
