I got axed about an hour ago. Was in the middle of a thread on "What Music Gets You Amped" thread ...
Hit reply - and BANG - got the "You do not have privileges" message.
A a post count down would have been sweet; something like a 'you have 5 posts left'. I would have liked to save some things before I got locked out.

I hang around because of legacy and familiarity. But I'm not going to pay for those sentiments.
And as I've said before, it goes against my business principles to pay for site in which we provide the content and do the work which keeps the board active.
If you went to work tomorrow and your boss said that they're going to start charging you for every sheet of paper and pen you use, in addition to charging you rent to use your cubicle - you'd look at him/her like they just grew a second head.
This isn't (can't believe I'm about to use this example) Mediafakeout for instance, wherein they deliver the content and allow you to chime in the threads.
If HNIC had a site structured like this, then I would understand the need for payment.
No one is coming to BGOL because it uses VB Bullentin 3.8, there are 7 themes, and a hand full of sub-forums. You can get that any other number of place.
They come to, and stay on BGOL because of us - so to charge us for is sort of a smack in the face.
It's like a non profit country club bro. Think of it that way. Either you pay and enjoy all of the board and it appears you get some benefits because you said you had things to dowload. The convenience of having the one stop place to get the things you download should be enough. If you can pay you pay. If you don't want to pay then don't pay and just enjoy the rest of the board without bitching. Shit. I haven't paid this year but it's not like I liked the main board. I liked the music and the movies stuff which I can't add to my hard drive anymore as it's full so I am not missing anything. The other places I go on the board which I also contribute are still open so technically the best parts of the board is still open. The parts that really can improve your life is still open.

I used to donate when it wasn't mandatory but these days I have to give justifications for my pennies especially when there is evidence but I will start again when situation changes.
You know there is a certain pride you get from being an upstanding member of the country club. Don't it? You got one of them donor things. You should know. Shit if you didn't say nothing no one would no you not a member of the club anymore. If you delete the thread people still wont know the difference. I don't even have one. It also looks like some changes were made to the board. New options. The ability to embed videos without using the coding tags.
I still have no Search option though - doesn't even appear.
And I don't think I have rights to embed anymore.
