Melina won a Divas dance off. This went on for about 15 minutes and the crowd hated it. Even the women who get pushed as faces got loud boos.

No, I'm telling you that pro wrestling on television has been more PG than not most of the time and we had fewer complaints. WWF was able to take what should have been a horrible gimmick in Doink and made it great (for a while) without any blood or any wild gimmick matches or profanity. Fans don't really care about the rating, that's just some shit to say, we care about the booking and the matches.
No matter when someone became a fan, I have a hard time believing if I showed you Crockett or Mid South from the 80s, you wouldn't like it and that could be perceived as PG (just more realistic).
 
HHH comes back and beats one of the hotter heels in the company (he's lost some steam already but he's still hot). Typical. I have a slim hope he doesn't do something like that on tv.

Understandable but for someone like me in his mid 20's I didn't start watching wrestling until around the mid 90's. Right around the time WCW and WWF were battling on Monday nights and pushing the envelope every Monday night. Sable coming out there with pasties on her titties, Stone Cold bringing out a fake gun to scare the shit out of Vince, DX.....in general lol, Nation of Domination and DX feud....I don't doubt the product was still done well before the rating change but for some of us that's all we know. Which is why you see people refer to the rating change in regards to why the quality of wrestling programs have gone down.

TNA is a prime example of a wrestling show that pushes the envelope and doesn't do it well. Sometimes even unwatchable. So its not all about rating but for me watching Raw and watching these cheesy segments with Cena, Morrison, Orton....for me its clear they're pushing this rating change a little hard on us.

Okay. Once you gave me your age range, I got a better picture and idea of your viewpoint.
I was going to use TNA as an example of a TV14 wrestling show that has schizophrenic booking (they can go from great to WTF?! in one week).
Since the 80s, Vince has hired writers from outside wrestling and Stephanie is Vince Jr in that she books to make the show an entertainment/variety show instead of a wrestling show. With those people in place, even a TV14 show will be done poorly. The best hope for any positive change in the booking is HHH retiring and working in the booking full time.


I just saw the commercial for this week's Smackdown. HHH is coming back to face Alberto Del Rio.
This won't end well.:smh:

To be around as long as he has, and not have learned ANY moves yet is ridiculous. Also it seems all the talented NXT season 2 rookies are on tv except my man SHowtime Percy Watson!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the fuck is up!!!?? Let him take Otunga's place, and Slater can go too!!!!!!!!!

I thought the way they were going to go with the story is that Barrett will piss off the other NXT guys to the point where they all gang up on him, jump him and just disband the group. But it looks like they shaping maybe a Otunga/Barrett fued in the future. I hope that's not the case.

- J.J. Dillon's name has been discussed for induction into next year's WWE Hall of Fame class. Should it occur, it is expected that he would be inducted with the Four Horsemen as a group rather than by himself.

- WWE's creative department has discussed keeping The Nexus together through Wrestlemania and then splitting the group via the annual Draft in April.

- For what it's worth, people in WWE are wanting to push the Nexus angle by giving them all of the title belts. With Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel holding the WWE Tag Team Titles, this might mean that Wade Barrett would defeat Randy Orton for the WWE Title and likely David Otunga would capture the United States Title.
- As noted before, CM Punk is going down with an injury and the planned feud with Daniel Bryan is out the window. A suggestion has been made for William Regal to feud with Bryan now and it's said there's a 50/50 chance it will happen.

I can even see them splitting Otunga off to form his own group with Nexus rejects like Young and Tarver and maybe NXT guys like Watson.

Dreamer broke his wrist in the match with RVD and, like Kurt Angle last month with his ribs, kept working. TNA should not suck with the effort their guys give but the booking is killing them.
Fuck them for firing Sabu. Dude headlined a ppv successfully with one day's notice and has worked hard since coming in and he's out of a job.

That's what Tara can do when she's got an equal in the ring with her. I haven't been impressed with anything she's done since the Awesome Kong cage match. She has to walk Madison and Velvet through so blatantly we can see her telegraphing (like when she lifts her arms like she's going to hit them but she's really opening for a kick). While I think adding Katie Lea/Winter gives them another strong worker, TNA should go back to pulling female talent from the indies instead of former Divas.

And get Hamada back on tv, fuck Russo's limitations.

Hamada is one half of the Knockout Tag Champs.Too bad that they haven't done anything with the belts since their creation. It looked like they were going to do something with Awesome Kong & Hamada as champs and then the incident went down with Bubba the Love Sponge. They really need to bring Kong and Cheerleader Melissa(Alisha Flash) back.
Since Hogan and Bischoff have come in TNA has kept their subpar talent, added other subpar talent(Orlando Jordan,The Nasty Boys) or given them pushes(Rob Terry) while either devaluing or firing quality wrestlers(Homicide,Christopher Daniels,Desmond Wolfe).

The split with Kong was the first step in the downfall of the Knockouts.

I think that Gail Kim leaving was the first step but once Kong left the division was no longer distinctive from the Divas and they lost the last person that they could focus and build the division around.
I like Bischoff as a heel but they need to realize that the path to ratings and PPV buys isn't 20 to 30 minutes of Bischoff every Impact nor is it a bunch of bad skits and randomness. It's quality wrestling and well built rivalries. I still think they need to do PPVs every 2 or 3 months instead of every month and take the time to build the matches.

The part in bold is what worries me. That would mean pulling wrestlers out of Shimmer in most likelihood (as they are the top fed in the US for female wrestling talent). Basically, I don't really want to see that happening since Shimmer continually puts on great shows.

It's difficult for me to appreciate a 7 minute TNA Nikki Roxx throwaway match, for example, when I'd easily get 15 minute or longer match with her in Shimmer with competition on her level (if not better) that would actually mean something in the wrestling sense.

You could argue, "But wrestling in TNA gives them more exposure." True, it would certainly mean more for their pay. But as a wrestling fan, I basically care more about the matches themselves.

It's difficult for me to appreciate a 7 minute TNA Nikki Roxx throwaway match, for example, when I'd easily get 15 minute or longer match with her in Shimmer with competition on her level (if not better) that would actually mean something in the wrestling sense.

You could argue, "But wrestling in TNA gives them more exposure." True, it would certainly mean more for their pay. But as a wrestling fan, I basically care more about the matches themselves.

I'm a fan but I know if a wrestler can't make a good living doing it, they'll stop wrestling. A wrestler comes up to TNA, has some good matches, makes some fans and goes back to SHIMMER a year later, hopefully taking some interest with her. That's better for everyone.

When was Nikki Roxx/Roxxi getting 7 mins in TNA? I wish.:D

I hear what you're saying, but it would interrupt ongoing storylines in established indies feds. Besides, you have a good number of indies wrestlers (like Bryan Danielson until very recently) who had been in the indies scene for ages and were doing just fine there.

Take Sara Del Ray for example. If she were to get pulled away from Chikara right now to be thrown into the TNA Knockout scene for a possible 7 minute match against Lacey Von Erick in a match nobody would care about, it would really hurt my favorite wrestling angle at the moment(let alone the storylines she has in Shimmer).

Although I read an interview about Sara Del Ray being approached by TNA a couple of times, she ultimately got rejected for not being girly enough (which is odd since she's the ultimate PAWG wrestler. Much bigger ass and legs than Thicky Mickey, and a much better wrestler).
