Damn tried this...no go

I was gonna upgrade to jd live but this is keeping ms from doing that

i got the live but im not fuckign with wdtv no more, when it works it works fine but i gotta unplug it every now and then, I want to try the roku or boxee

Try to update firmware like MITB said. If not it may be the files. WDTV is just a player. If it's working fine on some and not on others it's the files. Shit happens all the time especially with mkv if somebody who don't know what the hell they are doing is encoding.

Man your ass aint fooling no one, with that i dont download bullshyt.

I got mine updated, when ever I play avi's through the netowrk it plays fine but when I play bluray rips shit freezes up, but it will play the same bluray film if I plug my hard drive in. I understand that some movies probably weren't ripped properly so they might give errors but the wdtv has alot of issues. if u google it u will see tons of other folks have similar problems.

Every once in a while I will come across a file that will not play or allow me to fast-forward.

Sometimes it's a WMV,sometimes an M4v and so on....

When this happens,I convert to another format...usually AVI.

I use Prism video converter to do this...and the file that would not play, works. Those that would not fast forward...after converting,do.

I'm currently using my phillips dvd player usb port. I put movies on usb flash and watch. I said I was gonna buy one of these WD HDTV media players because i'm fed up with the problem of certain files not playing, if they'll play most will ff and rr but the problem is some flicks, especially anything from the bangbrothers network, anything that's not avi and even some avi files, rr and ff very slow. It might take 9 minutes to fast forward 10 minutes into a flick. So that's why I was looking into getting one of these players like the OP, so even if I bought one of these media players i'd still have the same rr/ff slow issues, some files not playing??

Far as converting movies to avi. I have convert x to dvd and a couple of other conversion programs....but your talking 35 to over an hour to convert a 400mb file. Anybody know a quicker way? thx

im on the latest firmware

i read on their fourms that m4v needs to be renamed to mp4

i just did this and I am about to test it

i have yet to find a fix for the avi issue

i know its the xVID codec causing the problem

I dont want to convert all these files shit takes way too long...

Thanks for this that prisim joint it the shit

Dropped a 18 gig folder in it and bout 1 1/2 later shit was done

Easiest conversion to I ever used

So between renaming .Mkv to mp4 and prism

All problems fixed!

Haven't gotten around to copping another one
