Yo, can I get that wallpaper?
That's the thing. I don't want to hide my notification/status bar. I just want to replace the default battery icon with a different one.If you are not trying to go the rooted phone route you can just download Launcher Pro and go to menue>preferences appearance settings> check off hide notification bar. This will hide the notification bar and you can just put whatever wideget you want there without the notification bar being in the way.
Ex. Notice how on my screen the notification bar is missing

What would I use to take a pic and make it my wallpaper, but not have to crop it with the orange box? Is their a way to resize the pic so that the whole pic is showing? Any help would be appreciated...
Send the pic to Your PC, then RESIZE it down to 960x800. See if that works, if You can't get what You want in the pic, resize it a lil smaller. As of yet, there's no app that will help You with that on Your Phone I've seen.
Infranview is a good program or photoshop which is even better, because it will keep just about 95% of the picture the same.
Rooted My other Evo, so I'm doing a Project Evo. Actually the Root was very easy, unrevoked did everything itself. Been using the phone for 3 days, no problem. Everything works & wireless tether is very nice.. Using this Brand New Rom "called" Myn’s Warm TwoPointTwo

All my icons/guides/anything are free, I think that one of the greatest things about android is the community effort, the fact that most people go out of their way, use their free time to enhance the experience of others. Where as I may use a custom rom from a dev here, some may use my icons. Beautiful.

uh I think you mean mine seeing the pic is MY homescreen and the pic is hosted at MY photobucket account
this is my current screen..not too fancy as I am testing various ROMS right now

I don't have Android I have a blackberry but, I just go to google from my phone and save images and use them as my wallpaper did you try that?
