Flash and his homeboy benches 520 with a spotter

Why is it that anytime you "girly men" can't lift major weight y'all start talkin this "I lift for endurance" bullshit, and y'all can't even do that. ...

<blah blah blah a long JD fable after this >

The guy who challenged you was stupid for telling you lifting heavy has no benefit but you pushed 135lbs, 78x? By your own account you've said you push 240lbs + on the average - so you did a max rep contest using less than half your average weight?

Why is this impressive? I can probably push out 40, with 135lbs total but I only weight 182lbs and 135lbs on the bar would be ~60% of my average max.

Powerlifting isn't my thing. Doesn't make powerlifting wrong and it doesn't make me a girly man for not being interested in it.

Just a different discipline. Powerlifters aren't necessarily concerned with cutting fat or shaping their muscles. Or developing high caliber aerobic efficiency since most of their focus happens in the anaerobic phase.

im 265 6'1'' and i got more hoes than toes and not fat bitches either!

Nigga You fat!! You strong as shit, but you still fat!

Cut down on your carbs and workout on your diet, cause all I see is hypertension, and type 2 diabetes in your future.

Im 6'1 and 195 and im benching 325 nothing near to what you getting up but I look like bruce lee compared to you!:lol:

If you tone up you would be scaring the shit out of niccas!

I feel you, but only 260lbs @ 6'6", 275??? I'm 5'6", 175 and I can snatch 260 about 4-5 times, with proper technique.

Like you said, it's about the technique not the weight so much, which I completely agree with. But I would think a dude as big as you might have said 360lbs, not 260lbs.

That is insane.

I'm shit scared of Snatching. That is the only thing I stay away from.

What's crazy about snatching is that you have to make sure that you maintain a center of gravity through one whole motion. All it takes is to have that bar be about 1/2 to 1 inch off at the end of the motion and you fucked.

I must commend you on that. Snatching 260lbs is insane.

I rather power clean & jerk than snatch.

the spotter did all the work.
fuck outta here.
even at my biggest 6'6" 275 the most I was benching was 260lbs but I had great chest development.

it ain't about the weight, it is about doing the bench press properly.

On the real that's not much, especially for a big nigga like you. I know plenty of cats smaller than that repping major weight.

Hell even myself at my best I was 195-200lbs benching 315..
My military press was really crazy..

Theres not to many average cats putting up weight in the 500-600lb category..Homeboy deserves props.

I should have chosen my words more carefully. When I said "snatch", I meant that I easily bench it. I haven't done real snatches since high school. My bad for the confusion. I have been thinking of getting back into doing clean & jerks for more explosive strength.

Maybe a year or 2 ago, and that wasn't heavy, but unlike Elroys like you, I cycle and progress. Now I weigh between 240-250 is that's what you are referring too. Gene Cisco hipped me to close grip benchin' so that's what I've been doing for the past 3 months. between 275-280, sets of 5-6. And I repped 135 for 78 AFTER doing sets with 3 plates. And you CANNOT push 135 for 40 reps, Now that dweeb nigga set the weight, not I. If the clown would have said "225" I would have owned him with a minimum of 24 reps.

Flash come on brah you fat homie. Like Fuckyou said drop a few pounds man. I'm 6'0 180 and I'm not skinny or brolic. Like I actually like being 6'0 180. My goal is to get to 190 and stop there. All that extra shit is for dudes who are doing world's strongest man or they are professional lifters. I can bench 200 at my weight and I'm not even 200 pounds. I'm gonna try 400 next and see how that goes but again, you're fat flash you ain't brolic playa drop a few pounds and get all that extra shit off cause all it's doing is making you look brolic but really half your shit is fat. :smh::smh::smh::smh:

Benching that at your weight is still impressive.

Yeah, clean and jerks are awesome.

To me, the best power lift is: DEAD-LIFTS

I'm a runner, but I power-lift like a fiend; I gotta stretch a lot more though.

People don't realize that they can lose mad fat power lifting.

Eating right + Cardio + Power Lifting = THE Ultimate Trio

I agree with this. Deadlifts is my strongest lift, bench is my weakest.

I dont understand why cats powerlift like that. I just keep it between 200-225 and thats enough to cut me. Alot of people dont know that there is a difference between powerlifting and bodybuilding.

Benching is just something that I have always been good at. I've always been able to bench more than most cats my size, and slightly bigger than me. My downfall are my biceps and forearms. My biceps and forearms are weak as shit. I routinely have to use straps to do pullups, dead-lifts and shrugs. The weights that I use to curl are far from impressive. I don't know what it is, but I really need to get my biceps and forearms stronger.

I don't understand what your issue is, but you do know that most muscle failures happen on the way DOWN during the negative. How many times have you seen someone blow all their energy down and can't get the bar off their chest?

You've exceeded your max. The strongest muscle in your arm is your TRICEP which is an expansion muscle. Your tricep can easily outpower your bicep which is a contraction muscle. Pecs, traps, shoulders, lats are all primarily expansion muscles as well which can help your triceps during a bench press.

When your tricep runs out of energy, you're fucked - biceps aren't really helping much but your other muscle groups can pause the weight while you get out the way or wait for a spotter.

That's why when weight training, a good trainer will make you focus on the negative part of the rep and small slow movements just as much as the positive part.

I'm not going to go back and forth with you, because you're just going to word me to death on some Blunt google shit.

But it's pretty damn obvious you don't know what you're talking about. So save the bullshit for the people who don't know better.

Ego is involved a little bit

But the biggest thing is you get a high and rush doing it. Shits like crack son.

You know how they say runners get that high, it's the same sort of feeling.

I agree because I love to run. Shit feels amazing. I run twice a day and I don't give a fuck about parking in the back of parking lots because I'll walk that bitch. I run every chance I get and I love it.

I'm 200 LBS and I damn sure can do 135 40 times..:hmm: 135 ain't shit and will never be shit... I was benching 135 30x in H.S. @ 155lbs:hmm:

duppy maka > flash
lean, strong and no gut :dunno:

Dude is talking crazy and putting up figures but his picture does not reflect anything he is saying so either he is doing it wrong or just plain lying

I dont know why dudes are getting on Flash, maybe he is going for the powerlifter look, its not for me but more power to him, besides 500+ is nothing to sniff at

The cardio part is what a people leave out!
Cardio gives you the long burn aerobic ability.
Powerlifting improves anaerobic and Vo2 max ability.

Since I don't do powerlifting (you need an equally strong spotter) and if done wrong you'll seriously fuck yourself up, I supplement HITT training instead.

That's all I was saying. I said it's not the look I'm going for. I said cats at my gym be fat as fuck lifting shit like that. But when the shirts come off chicks looking at the toned up dudes. Cats got all mad and shit.

Hell yeah man. Cardio is a big part of getting toned. You have to drop the fat some how.

let me explain human biology to you.
I'm really tall, so I have longer arms.
not only is the bench press more difficult for a person with longer arms.
A person with longer arms gets a whole lot more benefit , in terms of chest development, than a person with shorter arms.
plus, I use a wide grip.
the wider your grip the more you isolate the chest muscles.
the closer your grip the more you use the triceps and to a lesser extent biceps.

it is that simple homie
If I do

3 sets X 230lbs 12-14 reps
3 sets x 250lbs 9-12 reps
3 sets x 260 lbs 7-9 reps

keeping the rest between sets under 3 minutes.

I've had a great chest workout.
my chest is filled with blood(the pump)
I can feel the muscle fatigue.

I don't care about 1 rep max
you got tons of short chubby guys that can bench 300lbs but look like they've never touched a weight in their life.:lol::lol:

I dont understand why cats powerlift like that. I just keep it between 200-225 and thats enough to cut me. Alot of people dont know that there is a difference between powerlifting and bodybuilding.

That's basically where I'm at. I keep it at ~225lbs for an average max. I maxed out one time ~270lbs but that was just to see where the peak was. Really have no interest in continually raising that number.

Like I had mentioned before, don't be fooled by these super cut muscle dudes though. They look strong but many of them are not (relatively speaking of course). They lift to put on bulk then just shape the hell out of their muscle and get super defined.

In terms of strength...
Power Lifter > Body Builder

Yeah - ok, whatever. Nice way to try to spin out of an argument you started but got caught with your pants down in.
If anything I'm saying is wrong or incorrect, not a single person has come in here to co-sign you yet. :dunno:

Know why? Because I am right.

:lol:No disrespect fam, but me and all the other personal trainers always laugh when we see a bunch of fat men benching close to their body weight....I would be more impress if you was benching double your body weight, but keep doing your thing playboi....

You're dead wrong about the negatives. You're able to come down with more weight, and that's not what "weakens" you. There are bench workout where you use 120% of your max just for the negative, of course a spotter(s) is necessary.

But yousa Elroy ass nigga who's never pushed any weight. Oh, but wait, you're an expert on this subject too.

The fuck is this SOL? flash take your wanna be brolic ass over to SOL fam. You got more fat than muscle nigga. Remind me of one of my dudes....nigga swear he brolic sadly he doesn't know half if not 90% of his shit is pure fat. I swear you fat niggas crack me up.

One thing I noticed with the personal trainers at my gym:
1) they are on the juice.
2) Their clients haven't made any improvements in years.

I guess there's no repeat business if you all actually helped your clients lose weight.
