Source: Carmelo Anthony Approves Trade to Nets

So Melo is a just a scorer but Durant is an elite player  Durant is one of the worst passers for his position and has a negative assist to turnover ratio. And he is also a poor defender and doesn't bring much to to table besides scoring. Melo is a top 3 player in the post. Might be the most clutch player in the league, is an elite scorer, and is the best pure scorer in the NBA. He also is a good team defender and a solid man to man defender. The people saying he doesn't play d haven't watched him play much last year.

Top 5 players

Kobe
Lebron
Melo
Dwight Howard
Wade

He's top 5 really?? Maybe top 5 at the center position but overall in the NBA nahhhhhh :smh::smh:

favors has the 3rd pick rating until the season starts... if he's still a net and stinks up the joint then trading him for anything of value is zero...look at beasley...dude was the 1st pick and was dealt for a 2nd rounder or was gonna get cut....favors gets labeled with potential but he is not a sure thing...u think hearing his name in trades as a rookie all summer will build his confidence? melo or no melo favors will have to be moved b4 the season if the nets hope to retain his value in case he bombs during the regular season....

the knicks won't make everyone available...the offer is chandler, curry, walker and td plus a 2014 1st rounder since now its clear teams will not give up their young established big men so that means no gallo or randolph and it seems the nets will only give up 1st rounder maybe two... the framework has been set..the knicks won't gut themselves b/c den was willingly to accept less from other teams...thats y these talks shoulda been kept private b/c if this deal falls thru den will get much less as result.

Bee was the 2nd pick and many are saying the Heat should have drafted Lopez instead.

If the reason the Knicks aint getting Mello is cuz of Gallinari they are dumb as hell

He will never reach that level

besides the point, he was either gonna get cut if he couldn't be traded b/c his value dropped like a fucking rock...he had more hype than favors...if favors sucks it up his value will drop and the nets r a stubborn bunch, melo said no last season, he might have said no this offseason and they still want him....that makes me believe they gonna ok a deal without an extension, they want him to be the face of the franchise in bk so much, no idea why they are in such a rush but they are...they wanna change their image in a year so much its crazy...

....i don't think they can just move on...they were hi-5'in themselves after meeting lebron and finished after the knicks and bulls (4th)...they thought they were gonna get to meet with amar'e then he signs with the knicks...they settled on travis outlaw and other nobodies... the nets just won't move on...its like putting a reformed crackhead in a crack house, ur owner wants to be bigger than the knicks...dude is coming off like the russian jim dolan before stern stepped in and told dolan to backoff...

...if they don't get melo they going after cp3 and throwing everything they can to get him...the roster the nets have now won't be what they finish with... the knicks can move on we got a solid core and still will have 1st round picks and cap space...the nets r giving off the vibe that is superstar or bust for them, thats not a good mentality shows a lack of confidence in your team...

knicks already offered gallo...nuggets simply won't take any deal from the knicks...its not hard to get a 1st round pick...the nuggets are deadset on never trading melo to the knicks, he wants the knicks so the nuggets are saying fuck u...they tried dealing him to the kings or minny until melo stopped that... nothing the knicks can do if the nuggets are ignoring their calls and refusing any talks...

Hmmmmm Dwight Howard is the Number One Center in the League.........And the two most important positions are Center and Point guard everyone knows this!!! Dwight Howard is Easily a Top 5 Nba Player. You cant just look at points.......Dwight Howard effect on the game is crazy add him to any team and they win 30 more games!!!:yes:

If i was building a team i would take Howard over MELO anyday allday!!

Yea this guy

Now what was his minutes when he saw starting minutes???

so yea when he saw the mintues he average

14 pts 7 rebs and 6 assists.

:lol::lol::lol:

it a reason people saying dude will win most improved player this season.

Nice try
You really do put a lot of faith in dude & based on how the numbers he put up late in the season I can't blame you. I'm still a lil skeptical though because he didn't start getting burn to really late in the season when the rest of his teammates simply didn't give a fuck anymore. The stress of a losing season, multiple injuries & frustrated egos took its toll on a lot of players on that roster. Williams took that opportunity & rode with it. I would like to see how he performs this year with those consistent minutes while having to work with his teammates who will hopefully be hungry again. Plus teams might have paid notice to what he did & adjust how they defend him as well just like they did to Gallinari. Gallinari was pretty much an unknown to most teams til they saw his shooting range. Teams now make it a must to have whoever is guarding him stay with him whenever he's floating around the perimeter.

My point he went at the second pick because of his trouble past. Many GM's knew of this. Which is why Pat Riley was thinking about trading the pick.

Now before he even gets in the NBA Bees and Mario C were fined 20k for sneaking girls and weed in to their hotel rooms during the NBA rookie camp.

He had a failure mystique around him already.

I mean look at Lopez who was the 10 pick how many thought lopez would be the second best center in the league in his 3 season??

point guard is the #1 overrated position....I can't remember the last time a team with a top-5 PG won the championship.

He's top 5 really?? Maybe top 5 at the center position but overall in the NBA nahhhhhh :smh::smh:

Hell yeah Dwight is top 5. He is the best rebounder and a top 3 shot blocker in the NBA. You need a good big man to win a championship , this isn't NBA 2k this is the real NBA

point guard is the #1 overrated position....I can't remember the last time a team with a top-5 PG won the championship.

u seem stuck on a player being good b/c he's top 5... solid pg play wins titles thats y they are the players u start with then u add the center sg,sf and pf are easy to get...the pg sets the direction, he's the qb of basketball... he doesn't need to be top 5 he just needs to run an offense and do it well...

Spurs & Pistons. When they won their titles, Parker & Billups were in the top 5 PGs. Rondo is creeping up on that list now with the numbers he puts up as well

it ain't just me others are saying dude will either be most improved or in the running.

Durant is 20 years old and lead the league is scoring. he averaged almost 8 rebounds a game and 3 assists. and the kid is only 20. and he's playing with a bunch of other kids. look at the players Melo plays with in Denver and compare that to the kids Durant plays with in OKC. No comparison. Ask any GM in the league, who would they rather take, KD or Melo and it would be unanimous, no question, Durant.

Dwight Howard? How can he be elite when he has NO OFFENSIVE game after all these years. If he ain't dunking, he ain't scoring. And please don't say that running, sweeping hard ass bank it off the backboard hook shot of his is a go-to-move. A go-to-move means that you are more than likely to score off of it, and other than dunking, dude has no weapons in his offensive arsenal.

Durant averaged 30. His game has grown in his 3 years in the league. Look at his career stats, almost all trend upwards. With Melo, same ole. You know he's gonna score and that's about it.

Durant is the most overrated player in the NBA. Call me when he does anything in the playoffs because this year he shot 30 % from the floor vs the Lakers. Melo is a superior player than Durant. He has a post game only rivaled by Tim Duncan right now in the NBA, his jab step is feared in the NBA, since he has been in the NBA he has hit more clutch shots than anyone including Kobe and he has taken his team to the Western Finals. Ask Kobe who is the toughest player to guard, and he will tell you 'Melo. The Thunder have a lot of talent so please stop acting like Durant is just playing with a bunch of "kids". That "kid" Russell Westbrook outplayed Durant in the playoffs, he looked like the leader of the team.

And Dwight Howard has took his team to the finals, anchored a top 3 D year after year without any other great D players on his team (besides Peitrus). Dwight is a top 5 player and the best big man in the NBA right now, post moves or no post moves. The game about more than just offense.

Lopez isn't the second best center in the league. No player from a 12 win team is a top 2 anything. Andrew Bogut is the 2nd best center in the NBA. Brook Lopez can't even grab 9 rpg on a 12 win team with no other good rebounders.

Top 5 Centers

Dwight
Bogut
Duncan
David Lee (he player center last year)
Brook Lopez

So now I'm hearing on the radio, that Mello reps are talking to Chris Pauls rep about coming to Jersey in 2012. Mello scared he's going to be there alone.

That comment just voided any chance of being taken serious in a NBA related topic again. Dude carries a team that wasn't even close to playoff contender the previous year deep into the 2nd round the following year & gave the Lakers the most competition they had in the entire Western Conference playoffs & he's overrated???? This was Durant's 1st time in the playoffs ever and you say he's overrated because he has a subpar series against the defending Champions???? GTFOH Then I guess Kobe was overrated when he sat on the bench crying after shooting an airball in his first playoffs. DWade was overrated when the Heat made a buzz in the playoffs with a team who's elite starters were Caron Butler & Lamar Odom. I swear some people just talk out their ass just so they could be involved in the convo. :smh::smh::smh:

the hornets can fuck this whole thing up now if they file tampering charges on the nets... basically melo won't go to nj if paul doesn't agree to leave NO in 2 yrs to come to nj....thats tampering like a muthafucka...nets just need to pull out and wait for FA to talk to melo...a trade now means cp3 and the hornets are watching closely....best believe after the miami stuff the league and owners won't let it happen again, thats tampering... these dudes really need to stfu and stop leaking info...

and seriously ppl want cp3 to give his word to leave in 2 yrs? the dude's knee might blow out in 1yr...melo if he isn't sold on nj just needs to say no and wait...

Your comment just voided any chance of being taken serious in a NBA topic. I have forgot more about Basketball than you have ever known. You don't know what the hell you are talking about, the Thunder didn't even make it out the first round of the playoffs! Yet you claim they went deep into the 2nd round :smh: Stop watching sportscenter and watch the games. You're talking out your ass because you don't even know the facts. Westbrook carried that team just as much as Durant, but you would know that if you saw more than 10 Thunder games.

Amar'e when asked if he's disappointed about melo to NJ: "it's not over yet..." 2 minutes ago via ÜberTwitter

50/50 this deal goes down now...tomorrow 40/60... monday 20/80...this is my guess

cp3 knees won't make it to 2012.

Creed skipbayless and others are reporting Denver said they will pull the trigger. Chi isn't going to counter.

Other new Devin and Favors went to practice today and basically was clearing out their stuff.

AL Iz reporting Devin was upset and spoke one on one with Avery and assistant coach Popeye Jones gave some advice to Derrick.

As for what u said shady this is why I'm down on this deal cp3 will eventually breakdown.

fine by me, reading knicks practice tweets...team looking good & focused on defense... good luck in nj Melo...

I wish something would happen like ASAP. Real talk, I don't even want homeboy to play the season out. To me that feels like the ultimate disrespect. Just buying time until you leave. Fuck that.

I acknowledge my mistake on which round The Thunder played the Lakers. Might have well been the 2nd round becaue the Lakers had a cakewalk throughout the rest of the Western Conference playoffs. Still doesn't over rule your claim of Durant being overrated for how he played in in his 1st ever playoffs. He still put up numbers but had bad shooting percentages since he had both Artest & Kobe switching off to defend him. The fact that you would call him overrated just based on his 1st & only playoff experience being subpar speaks a lot on your basketball knowledge.

And on top of that, no one ever claimed Westbrook didn't have any impact. However when the game was on the line, who had the ball in his hands the majority of the time? Who did defenses gear their defenses towards stopping primarily. Westbrook is dangerous once he gets in the paint but if you force him on the perimeter, his jump shooting isn't consistent enough to make him a deadly threat even though it has improved since his rookie season. Personally I think Westbrook is better than Rondo & more people will see it as the Thunder get more media coverage but at the end of the day Durant is still the main man on that team & for good reason.

yup Mike d said he might go 11 men deep... with our depth we can tire a shitload of teams out while our guys stay fresh.... gonna be a fun season
