Source: Carmelo Anthony Approves Trade to Nets

I just mean how Avery bullshitted people:lol::lol:

Told Travis Outlaw he was going to be a starter

Told Devin he has the keys

Told Derrick Favors he has a bright future and he was not on the block.:lol:

Carmelo is not an elite player. He's a scorer. One of the best in the league. And that's it.

No one would be jumping up and down to build a franchise around dude. He's not that type of player.

So Melo is a just a scorer but Durant is an elite player  Durant is one of the worst passers for his position and has a negative assist to turnover ratio. And he is also a poor defender and doesn't bring much to to table besides scoring. Melo is a top 3 player in the post. Might be the most clutch player in the league, is an elite scorer, and is the best pure scorer in the NBA. He also is a good team defender and a solid man to man defender. The people saying he doesn't play d haven't watched him play much last year.

Top 5 players

Kobe
Lebron
Melo
Dwight Howard
Wade

^ the disrespect for melo's game is unbelievable. just based on being the best clutch player in the league BASED ON END OF GAME STATISTICS you think he'd get more love :smh:

yeah his game has flaws but how many legit 30 ppg scorers ARE there?

c'mon son.

Melo's an idiot if he goes to the Nets. I hope the money he makes off the court is worth it because he won't get out of the first round and he'll be lucky to get the 5th seed.

So what Carmelo is basically saying that New Jersey has more upside than Denver.

Melo's an idiot if he goes to the Nets. I hope the money he makes off the court is worth it because he won't get out of the first round and he'll be lucky to get the 5th seed.

Melo and LaLa want to to be in NY. Nets move to Brooklyn in a couple years. Plus they got an owner who is way more willing to spend and make moves to get a contender than Stan Kroenke(Nuggets Owner). So it might be good if they can build a good team. They already got some decent pieces so you never know.

Killa you finally get the player you want......................

So who gonna play the point? Keyon Dooling? I like Anthony's game, but he needs a good PG to get him the rock. He CANNOT create his own shot and players who can are usually chuckers and play losing basketball anyway

Anthony would be PERFECT for the Knicks. But they are too in love with the Eyetalian kid
smh

Anyone who knows anything about Net history would know that these kind of trades have backfired on us since we traded for Nate Archibald

I happy for the soon-to-be Brooklyn Nets!

Can't root for them tho til they leave out of fuck ass NJ tho

League offices don't open again again until Monday morning so officially, no trade can go down before then. Sorting through the details of Friday's happenings, here's what the situation looks like...and it's subject to change.

Star-divide

--Carmelo Anthony is either leaning toward or has already accepted the idea of playing for New Jersey and then Brooklyn. While some reports Friday night had him accepting the trade (and the three year $65 million extension beyond next season), others said the three time all-star had not. But no one said he had turned down the idea.

--The Nuggets have given 'Melo the weekend to accept while at the same time they're looking around for a better deal, specifically one from the Bulls that would include Joakim Noah. Chicago has thus far turned them down. The Knicks and perhaps others are looking for ways to still get in on the action.

--The Bobcats' role in the trade remains unsettled. Either the 'Cats are reluctant to give up the 22-year-old D.J. Augustin or the Nets are reluctant to take him. If that doesn't work, a fifth team could be brought in.

--In addition to sending Devin Harris to the Bobcats, Derrick Favors to the Nuggets and Quinton Ross to the Jazz, the Nets would give up two draft picks, their own in next June's draft and the Warriors' protected (1-7) pick in 2012. Jarvis Hayes also joins the Bobcats in a sign-and-trade.

--The trade would still leave the Nets with more than $15 million in expiring contracts: Troy Murphy's $11.98 million and Kris Humphries $3.2 million plus vets minimum deals with Joe Smith, Stephen Graham, Brian Zoubek, Ben Uzoh and camp invites Eddie Gill and Andre Brown.

--With Harris gone and the Nets point guard corps limited to Jordan Farmar, Uzoh, Gill and maybe Augustin, the Nets are likely to make a big play for Chris Paul.

so basically Monday will be the telling point but as many insiders are saying the deal has gone through and teams have already gone too far.

:lol::lol::lol:

Imagine you are Derrick Favors and Devin if this trade doesn't go through you are pissed off at the Nets.

if the trade doesn't go thru nj will get desperate and make it anyway without any extension... u can't bring these guys back after telling them they won't be traded then try to trade them... favors is an up and down player his feelings must be hurt he won't play well b/c avery has zero confidence in him....harris should know avery hates him, he ran him out of dallas quick...if the nets keep them its basically setting up team turmoil...nets shoulda kept this on the low until monday now if melo says fuck no the nets are in a tough spot...he can play the yr in den but favors and harris can't in nj...this is becoming a mess of epic proportions if no deal happens...

creed you are smarter than that. The trade doesn't go through the Nets go on with life.

As they said no extension no deal.

They will flip it and say it was all hype.

:lol::lol:

You know basketball this is the game.

This is the Jason kidd trade over again. Remember how long it took for that to get complete same thing

A source with direct knowledge of the situation said, "It's really a moot point," because the Denver Nuggets have made it clear they're not interested in dealing with the Knicks.

Again, this is something we told you a few weeks ago: Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke, who was livid at the open discussions at Carmelo's wedding in July about he and his new bridge, Lala Vazquez, coming to New York. The Knicks don't have a dynamic package to offer in the first place, but the Nuggets haven't even engaged in meaningful conversations to involve other teams, as we see they have with the Nets.

There was always a great deal of hesitation within the Knicks hierarchy to make an aggressive play for Melo, because it would mean gutting the young roster. From the Knicks' perspective, it would make more sense for both them and Carmelo if they got together via free agency in 2011 because he would be joining a much deeper and more talented roster than he would if the team had to move Danilo Gallinari, Anthony Randolph and Wilson Chandler, plus who knows how much else for a draft pick, in a trade.

Obviously after losing out on LeBron James after a two-year wait, there is a push from Carmelo's side to put pressure on the Knicks to make a desperate play like we've seen from past regimes. But, again, how do you make a desperate offer when the other guy - in this case it's Josh Kroenke, son of team owner, not new GM Masai Uriji, who is the point man - isn't taking the call?

Really, if this was just about the Knicks lack of a first round pick, do you think Donnie Walsh would have gotten one with one of his players by now? Let's not forget the Pacers offered a first for Anthony Randolph in late August and I've heard the Spurs like Wilson Chandler enough to do the same.

Really, Carmelo's people screwed this up from the start (big surprise here). Rather than trying to force the issue for selfish reasons, tick off an owner and destroy your client's image with his current fan base, Carmelo should have simply left the three-year, $65M extension on the table, offered no suggestions that he wanted to leave and declined to speak any more about it publicly. In other words, he should have followed LeBron's script from 2009, not the one from the Summer of 2010.

This is bullshit, it's done all the time in the NBA

Lamar Odom was rumored to be on the trading block for three years.

And what happens when the Knicks say everyones available but Amare and Gallinari?

the knicks arent doing that. this isnt ya old dumb knicks who would do such a stupid thing.

Melo is a free agent at the end of the year its all on him

Knicks will be fine with or without him

I didn't want to trade to go through but it looks like it will. The Russian is about to go full stream and go after CP3 and others

The Knicks already said it.

It's just that they have no picks involved, and it's obvious Denver doesn't want to deal with them.

I think a lot of it's also being stubborn and not wanting to send Carmelo where he wants to go.

the russian won 12 games last year and will win 35 this year

we will 40.

Homie we won 34 with VC and a rookie brook. and a shitty line up in 2009.

They are winning 40.

Brook is now the second best center in the league and Nets surround their team with shooters and Twill.

40 wins is expected

http://www.nba.com/playerfile/terrence_williams/

oh this guy?

8pts 4rebs and 3 assists

gotcha

Yea this guy

Now what was his minutes when he saw starting minutes???

During the month of April, Williams ranked first among Eastern Conference rookies in scoring (14.3 ppg) and minutes (34.2 mpg), while also leading all Eastern Conference rookies in points + rebounds + assists average (27.7) and ranking second in rebounds (7.1 rpg), assists (6.3 apg) and free throw percentage (.889). The Louisville product shot .455 (45-99) from the field and recorded his first career triple-double on 4/9/10 vs. Chicago with 27 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. He also averaged a triple-double over New Jersey’s three home games in April with 20.7 points, 10.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists.

Williams finished the month tied for first among Eastern Conference rookies with three double-doubles, highlighted by his triple-double vs. Chicago and his 14 point, 14 assist game vs. New Orleans on 4/3. Throughout the month of April, Williams set career-highs in the following categories: points (27), assists (14), minutes (49) and field goals made (12), while tying career-highs in rebounds (13) and blocks (1).

Williams is the seventh Nets rookie to win the award joining Brook Lopez (Jan. 09, Feb. 09), Richard Jefferson (Jan. 02), Kenyon Martin (Nov. 00 & Mar. 01), Kerry Kittles (Dec. 96), Derrick Coleman (Nov. 90, Jan. 91, Apr. 91) and Buck Williams (Feb. 82).

so yea when he saw the mintues he average

14 pts 7 rebs and 6 assists.

:lol::lol::lol:

it a reason people saying dude will win most improved player this season.

Nice try

there is no way in hell the nets win 40 games and carmello is an idiot. just play the year out and walk to the knicks for free(i cant believe i'm on the knicks side here).
sooner or later the owners would get desperate to get ANYTHING for him and ball would be in him & the knicks court.

Durant is 20 years old and lead the league is scoring. he averaged almost 8 rebounds a game and 3 assists. and the kid is only 20. and he's playing with a bunch of other kids. look at the players Melo plays with in Denver and compare that to the kids Durant plays with in OKC. No comparison. Ask any GM in the league, who would they rather take, KD or Melo and it would be unanimous, no question, Durant.

Dwight Howard? How can he be elite when he has NO OFFENSIVE game after all these years. If he ain't dunking, he ain't scoring. And please don't say that running, sweeping hard ass bank it off the backboard hook shot of his is a go-to-move. A go-to-move means that you are more than likely to score off of it, and other than dunking, dude has no weapons in his offensive arsenal.
^ the disrespect for melo's game is unbelievable. just based on being the best clutch player in the league BASED ON END OF GAME STATISTICS you think he'd get more love :smh:

Durant averaged 30. His game has grown in his 3 years in the league. Look at his career stats, almost all trend upwards. With Melo, same ole. You know he's gonna score and that's about it.

different time...b/c avery pisses players off...he talks out both sides of his mouth then shits on them...look at harris, avery talked him up then shat on him...avery was madd successful in dallas but got ran out why? he crosses lines and lies....he won't just coach he gets involved in everything....the nets will have a hard time getting FA's b/c this highlights what is said about avery...dude is a snake...

seriously doubt that. Melo comes here then Cp3 will likely follow suit.:angry:

Devin will have to take it.

favors has the 3rd pick rating until the season starts... if he's still a net and stinks up the joint then trading him for anything of value is zero...look at beasley...dude was the 1st pick and was dealt for a 2nd rounder or was gonna get cut....favors gets labeled with potential but he is not a sure thing...u think hearing his name in trades as a rookie all summer will build his confidence? melo or no melo favors will have to be moved b4 the season if the nets hope to retain his value in case he bombs during the regular season....

the knicks won't make everyone available...the offer is chandler, curry, walker and td plus a 2014 1st rounder since now its clear teams will not give up their young established big men so that means no gallo or randolph and it seems the nets will only give up 1st rounder maybe two... the framework has been set..the knicks won't gut themselves b/c den was willingly to accept less from other teams...thats y these talks shoulda been kept private b/c if this deal falls thru den will get much less as result.
