I just came from the NYC Library downtown...Man I just picked up TPBs for 50 cent each. Outside of the Lib stickers which I steam off with an iron...shit is not bad.

The NYC library is going hardcover for all of their TPBs so many of their soft covers are being phased out at select branches. Also alot of TPB were donated and they just don't have the room so they are being sold. $1.00 for HC, 50 cents for SC and 10 cents for single issues. They also have other books in other genres also same pricing.

Irredeemable is SOLID.

28 Days Later is damn good.

Shadowhawk...I am trying to like it but it's just falling flat for me since they just brought back the original dude from the dead. Really wish they would have went a different route because the villains and mystery about the villains is good. The character of the hero...fucks up the book royally.

Farscape is good but I dropped all MINIs because it's too much dollar stretching.

TWD is golden.

Scarlet is golden.

Buffy went full retard...can't believe my girl still likes that book.

30 Days Of Night/X-File has me hooked.

Anyone got a book they are reading that they think others should be reading also..and why?

There was no point of this films leaked photos, script and story art that looked hot...at all.

This shit will be as good as Gi Joe...with an occasional battle that will look hot but be 100% CGI...No thanks, Marvel.

The answer to who will be the new Man Without Fear was answered this afternoon on G4′s Attack of the Show: “Fresh Ink” host Blair Butler announced that Marvel’s Daredevil will end in November with Issue 512 — of course, we already knew that — to be replaced with Black Panther: The Man Without Fear.

The title, which picks up in December with Issue 513, spins out of the “Shadowland” event, and finds Black Panther as the new guardian of Hell’s Kitchen, “living outside of his kingdom and rebuilding his life” without the aid of advanced Wakandan technology.

Black Panther is written by award-winning novelist David Liss, who penned last year’s Daring Mystery Comics 70th Anniversary Special for Marvel, and penciled by Francesco Francavilla (Zorro), who drew those “Man Without Fear” teasers.

Daredevil returned to its original numbering a year ago with Issue 500. The continuation of that numbering under the new name, a la Incredible Hercules, suggests we’ll see a return to plain ol’ Daredevil before too long. Meanwhile, the four-issue Daredevil: Reborn, by Andy Diggle and Davide Gianfelice, will launch in January.

When young Billy Batson says "SHAZAM," he transforms into the adult superhero Captain Marvel. The character is nearly as old — and as powerful — as DC Comics' premiere hero, Superman. Yet, he's had far less exposure than the Man of Steel. In fact, most people who recognize Captain Marvel think his name is actually the magic word he says to access his powers. This name confusion stems partially from the fact that DC Comics is forced to market Captain Marvel under the name Shazam! because Marvel Comics owns the rights to the name.
Captain Marvel has appeared in film serials, a live-action TV show, and several cartoon series. There's also long been talk of adapting the comic book into a live-action movie along the lines of Big meets Superman. New Line Cinema had been working on an adaptation but when it folded, the scripter of the intended adaptation, John August (Big Fish), declared Billy Batson and the Legend of Shazam! a "dead" project.
However, after acquiring the rights from New Line, Warner Bros. decided to move forward with the adaptation, hiring Peter Segal (Get Smart) to direct and bringing in Bill Birch to write a new draft of the screenplay with popular comic book scribe Geoff Johns. In a recent interview with CineFools, Birch said that he and Johns are "in the thick of it, creating a kick-ass update that still honors the lore" of the character. He said that he has "read some of the previous versions," but that he and Johns are "starting fresh."

FREEDOM FIGHTERS #1 was good and seems to be keeping the same feel as the two recent mini-series which were both quality reads.
R.E.B.E.L.S. is a fun book that is utilizing the best of DC's cosmic characters.
JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST is really good and the overarching storyline with Max Lord coming back is cool.
SECRET SIX is the best book DC proper puts out.
The Marvel Cosmic books (NOVA, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY) are the most enjoyable books Marvel has been producing for a very long time and the current THANOS IMPERATIVE event shits all over any of the events that Millar and Bendis have dreamt up.
CROSSED is Garth Ennis at his most twisted and somehow his insanity transferred to Dave Lapham with CROSSED: FAMILY VALUES where some of the sickest shit in comics was shown.
THE BOYS is one of the funniest comics out on the market.
RESURRECTION is like THE WALKING DEAD except they replaced the zombies with aliens. The story is as much about the humans and how they react/behave than anything to do with aliens. PLus it reads really cinematically...you can pretty much envision this comic as a movie or TV. show.
 
SWEET TOOTH-Fast moving, provocative story, great characterization and various small mysteries that keep you coming back.

CHEW-More people should be reading this. The premise is one of a kind, great characters, great dialog and funny as all hell.

INVINCIBLE-Pure primary-color, flying and punching, superhero, madness

INVINCIBLE IRON MAN-The best characterization of Tony Stark since Demon in a Bottle. And the art is top notch.

Gone but not forgotten...

Agents of Atlas/ATLAS-Great characters (again), and it did an astounding job of making pulp-era characters vibrant, exciting and relevant.

IMMORTAL IRON FIST / IMMORTAL WEAPONS-One of my favorite comics of the last ten years. And my favorite martial arts comic ever. I have nothing to complain about with it.
