You are absolutely right. The house TP just bought, Dean Gardens, is already one of the largest estates in the SouthEast and probably on the Eastcoast. Tyler Perry now owns one of the largest estates in the country...a 32k sq. ft. home on 53 acres of land in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the southeast.
Although I'm not the target demographic for his movies, I do applaud this brotha for acquiring this property/investment at the price of $7.6MM...that was a steal.

I am a resident of Johns Creek, and the guy who was kicked off this land spoke with me a few weeks ago. He's lived there as a courtesy officer for the last few years, and now he has nowwhere to go. He's trying to negotiate with Terry, but he's not hearing right now.
It's a nice area, a lot is privatized out here, though. THough I hear we'll be changing that soon. I'm kind of glad Perry is moving down the street, we need more wealthy Black in this area.

Yeah there was a subliminal message there but 58 acres is a small subdivision.
What he decides to do with it will definitely influence property taxes in the area.
The land itself was assessed at $2.56Mil but is appraised at $6.4Mil, so he didn't quite get it at a steal but he could have done worse.
It'll be interesting to see the jump in value, if they go Milton Co.

I just did a search on it. Apparently five years ago someone wanted to buy the property and put a country club for seniors, with five story condos all around the property (would have been the tallest buildings in John's Creek if it happened) and this freaked the neighbors out. They were probably afraid he's was going to put his studio out there or some other bullshit.
