I was cursing at the PC screen when Sonnen tried to play it off like he didn't tap.
I'm happy are everyone else here but I'm not all geeked/hype about the win, Silva looked bad.

Sonnen looked worse due to the elbows, Silva was getting hit on the side of his face and chin.

i disagree. from R4 on, it didn't look like sonnen had anything behind his punches (to me).
i even posted that i thought silva was doing the rope-a-dope and questioned whether sonnen had anything left in the tank.
it looked to me that silva was hoping sonnen would tire (physically and mentally) and slip up. and he did. you know how when you have your full wind and stamina your technique is better, but when you are fatigued you get a little sloppy?
that's what i'm talking about. sonnen wanted to stay agressive, but wasn't physically able to maintain his focus. when he postured up to start swinging (instead of pressing down on silva), i think silva knew he had his opportunity.
and to his credit, i think silva set that all up by trying to control his head in R4. sonnen didn't like that shit and decided to posture up in R5.
Silva needs to work on his wrestling with Rashad Evans instead of Mark Munoz.

@ downplaying Silva's victory. No one is claiming Silva dominated the fight. In fact, everyone here admits Silva lost the first 4 rounds. But this wasn't some "suspicious" judges decision that gained Silva a victory. This was a clear cut submission that Silva was working on trying to get from the 2nd round onward. Sonnen was good at avoiding it before, but couldn't at the end.Silva WON this fight,deal with it.
No flip flopping, just honest assessments. Silva was getting the floor mopped with his ass. Then he pulled a rabbits foot out of it.

I suspect that if you go back and look at it slow mo, you will see that much like Mayweather, Silva was moving his head at the last split second and Sonnen was getting credit for a lot of shit that missed. I 'bout shat my pants when Silva nearly got dropped in the first round...It appeared that Anderson didn't respect Sonnen's hands at all b/c after he got dropped, he kept his hands down and Chael hit him twice and Anderson looked at him like :

Now if Silva's ribs were hurt for real, then that explains the way he fought because he didn't look like his old self tonight. Silva was missing on his punches just didn't look right. I thought during the first 2 rounds that Silva was playing rope-a-dope but it the same thing was happening every round after that.

I was about to leave Hooter's when Silva was taken down on the mat but my wife said stay until the end. I am glad she said that I would of been like what the hell happened.

There is no justification...they are mostly a NASCAR crowd. They were actually cheering for Silva at first which shocked the shit out of me. But as usual when Silva kept getting taken down, they switched. Then they were ready to riot because they thought the white boy didn't tap. Even then they kept booing. Sonnen made a mistake in round 5. Fatigue and victory so close at hand cost him the fight. Silva being an expert fighter was able to take advantage of the situation.
Seriously, if it wasn't for the UFC "anti-ground game" keep it busy shit, sonnen could have won this shit easily without worrying about being busy.
