Brown agrees to two-year deal with Lakers

Farmar replaced Blake, and him and Fish will split time.

I'd rather have Fisher at 35 start, rather than Farmar been in the game for 10 seconds and comes down the court and shoots a 20 foot jumper with nobody under the basket, one on two.

Blake is an upgrade over Farmar in all categories.

Farmar wasn't shutting down any PG's

I wonder how much PT Brown can expect to get in comparison to last year. I figured he was gone mainly for that reason, especially after the Blake signing.

I'm not talking about Farmar replacing Blake. Farmar replacing Fisher.

What games did you see Phil let Farmar get legit run in? What PGs did you see Fisher keep up with and shut down this year?

How many Finals games did Farmar win. Fish in the clutch >>>>>>

Josh Powell Brings Depth, Championship Experience to Hawks‎

ORLANDO, FL. -- There are veterans who spend years chasing the chance to win an elusive NBA title.

And there are veterans – like Josh Powell – who leave championship teams to prove they actually can play in the NBA.

It's like leaving the penthouse – when you don't necessarily have to leave. Not an easy decision.

Powell, 26, won back-to-back championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, but he opted to sign last month as a free agent with his hometown Atlanta Hawks, believing it was best for his future.

I know he dipped, but my point was that Powell and Mbenga, who both left, are better than the geriatic nigga they signed. And Powell only left for 1.1 million, the Lakers should have given him that.

Look at Ratliff's stats in Charlotte. Even playing like 25 minutes he was getting 1.5 blocks, as opposed to DJ who averaged a foul per 30 seconds.

Caracter will be just as good if not better than Powell.

man, it was bad here in la...they was booing kwame in pre-game warmups at the end
:smh:

I just remember that game where they started booing every time he touched the ball... I don't think I've ever seen an NBA player treated that way by the home crowd.

Unfortunately he's done more than darko. And look what darko got.

Exactly

He is better than Darko but Darko got 4 years 20 mill?

He is holding out a little longer to see what he can get and I dont blame him

He can always catch on to a team for the minimum

He is still big, strong, and plays decent post defense

Man, if I was an NBA player I might have to do some harm to Darko. I'd be the NBA's mad rapper.

IIRC, he's going to be making a good deal more than Shannon Brown, Kwame Brown and Shaq combined.

If Darko was a female, I'd say she obviously blew David Kahn at the least. Looking at the figures, I can't dismiss that theory regardless of gender.

shannon brown aka chris brown.

these dudes are related.

theres no way you can look THAT much like someone and not be related.

I still remember when Jeff Van Gundy called him "Chris Brown" and corrected himself later.:lol::lol:

David Kahn is just an idiot

Farmar wasn't gonna get any time as a starter. His game didn't mesh well with the first unit. With the second unit, yeah. However, he was horrible at setting up his teammates. When Farmar was on the court with Gasol and no Kobe he never set Gasol up. Blake is a better passing point guard and a better shooter, and for those reasons he's an upgrade because they need both qualities.

As for Ratliff, the man can block shots. He gives them that presence that neither Powell nor Mbenga gave. If all goes to plan he shouldn't play more than 10-15 minutes a game.

As for Brown, his minutes will be expanded. Kobe was completely out of gas in game 7, and you can expect his minutes along with Fisher's to drop. Fisher played 27 a game, and it may come down to 25. Kobe played nearly 39 minutes per game. That can come down to 36, maybe even 35.

Who knows, maybe they'll do Kobe like Duncan and bring him down to around 32 a game. I doubt they paid Matt Barnes to just play 15 minutes or less.

LA is going to have a very versatile lineup.

Ron Artest is probably the only person along with Fisher and Bynum who can't play multiple positions on that team.

Pau can slot at the 4 or 5, Odom 3 and 4, Kobe 1-3, Blake 1-2, Brown 1-2, Barnes 2 or 3.

My concern is that Ratliff is going to have to play way more than 10-15 minutes a game. The Lakers have been to 3 straight Finals, and Kobe and Gasol made it to the Gold Medal game in the Olympics two years ago. That's a staggering amount of basketball games and I think that this might catch up to the Lakers health wise. Kobe and Gasol missed a ton of games early last season. Add in Bynum's annual knee injury, and I think they are a little thin when it comes to big men. They should have kept either Mbenga or Powell in addition to Ratliff and Caracter.

damn that shaq celtics shit hurt my hart a lil

still see him as a laker

Shannon (Big Cris) Brown did the right thing...ask trevor ariza and tyrone lue lol

Lakers fame led to a new teams shame

Ariza averaged 15 points a game last year.

yeah I'm sure he wishes he was back in LA during the season but end of day he's good. he got a ring and now he's a front line player instead of Kobe's caddy.

Considering the money's the same, he is on record regretting leaving.

Same money, playing at home (he's from LA), and the chance to contend year in year out > playing for the same money for a borderline team.

However, LA doesn't win the title this season with Ariza instead of Artest. Artest was instrumental in defending Kevin Durant, and came up with some very very big plays in the playoffs.

Lakers would have won again.

And that Denver series was won by ariza defensive plays
Yes, but Ariza can't handle Paul Pierce physically. He wouldn't have gotten to Durant the way Artest did either, and dude also set the tone for LA in game 1 right in the beginning.

He also had the biggest game of anyone on either team in game 7 and was the difference. I don't believe Ariza would've done better.

This is a make or break year for Andrew Bynum. And if its break-- again-- he goes into the Oden/Yao pantheon of centers who can't be counted on for shit.

honestly he did a good job against Melo who is better than PP and slightly very slightly better than durant.

i rather have Ariza defensive game and Offensive game than artest.

artest has the bigger body tho.

Every time ....EVERY time Farmar stepped onto the court during the playoffs he made mistakes...mistakes that fucked up the lakers chemistry on the floor.

He needed to go. I would cringe every time he got put in the game during the playoffs.
