Chappelle truly shines at sketch comedy, not standup.

Chappelle's For What It's Worth is better than Rock's last two specials.
That "How Old is 15 Really?" piece is about as strong as anything Rock has ever done. And his Killin' 'em Softly is funny as shit.

Chappelle, Rock then Hart. Even Chappelle's youtube clips are hysterical. Rock is consistent and although Hart has limited subject matter, he's still pretty funny.

Damn fool. Kat Williams is a very average comedian who uses the same material for years at a time.

Jamie Foxx is funny as hell but he's a underachiever when it comes to actual standup and specials. He's never had a groundbreaking huge comedy special like Chappelle has.

"Killing Them Softly" by Chappelle kills anything that Jamie has done and Kat Williams shouldn't even be mentioned in a list with average comedians so he damn sure shouldn't be considered for this.

At the end of the day though its all opinion which is why there is no such thing as "the best" in any category.

Co-sign. Weed humor only works for so long before it gets old. I think Foxx is a funny dude, but no where near Chappelle's laid back funny. I feel Foxx has to have an over the top comedy "performance" to be funny.

this is a good group but when i watch stand up the mannerisms is what makes it funny,facial expressions, how they act out shit etc...steve harvey,cedric,martin in his prime,katt williams...but if i had to choose right now its kevin hart hands down he's funny as shit!!!!!!!!! chris rock and dave chappelle have seperated themselves they are among the elite along with martin they are the next tier of greats

Why the fuck are there so many Dave chapelle votes? He's not a good stand up comedian really. He's very average. I think most people are thinking about the show. The show is not stand-up. Jamie Foxx is funnier than Dave Chappelle at stand-up and Kat Williams is as well. Along with a long list of others.

Jamie Foxx's "I Might Need Security" was the least funny hour of comedy ever recorded.

He makes that other bum you mentioned, Katt Williams, look like Richard Pryor.

Dave Chappelle is the funniest living comedian IMO. I was a fan before the show, which is actually overrated only because it's so highly rated. Killin' 'em Softly + his half hour special on HBO made me a fan for life.

FWIW showed him evolving into a smarter comedian, more like Chris Rock... Not quite as funny but still very, very good.
