The LANA EPISODES were the MOST BORING EPISODES.
Well, if you think about it, in the MOVIE, he didn't learn to fly until he was 30.
I repeat: Tom Welling and Erica Durance have no onscreen chemistry AT ALL. None. How boring the episodes are is reflective of the writers, not the actors.

Erica Durance has been the worst Lois Lane on screen.
Even their kiss was weak. That was supposed to be a pivotal moment in Superman's history. I judt don't think Tom and Erica click. His scenes with Kristen were a lot hotter even though Lana as a character is somewhat boring. Its hard to fake chemistry. Tom and Erica don't have it and never did.

kate bosworth is the worst Lois Lane, hell everyone in that Superman Returns movie was horrible including the story. Erica's Lois Lane can fight unlike the others who would get into trouble and scream for help.

TV Guide reports that both dad General Sam Lane (Michael Ironside) and little sis Lucy Lane (Peyton List) will return to SMALLVILLE for a late October episode. They haven’t been seen on the show since they appeared in separate episodes in season four, but General Lane is frequently mentioned.
There are no details about the reason for the family visit, but there is hopeful speculation that it could also lead to the return of Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) since the general works for Luthor in the comic books.
