i hope he takes 20 3FGAs next game and makes 12 of them.

That shit is horrible.. I dont think people really realize how detrimental that shit is to the offense.... come 4th quarter... Gasol has been frozen out of the offense and then the roles players havent had enough touches to contribute... key word TOUCHES not just shots... the ball isnt going to post or rotating when Kobe is holding the rock and launching 3s...

some of them were big shots...especially the back to back makes but he should have just taken the back to backs and then gone back to the offense.... i dont know if people are really looking at this number... Kobe shot double digit 3s...that is not a good look for the offense

GREAT GAME!! Who would have thought: Nate & Big Baby?

I remember in the '08 series that these two teams stayed close with each other until the spark from the bench came (from either team).

I have told other Lakers this (not on BG though). If Artest is going to clock 40+ minutes a game he has to score and be a threat. He is hurting yall on the O, but yall need his defense. You just can't do that in the finals when your two stars (Kobe & Gasol) become stagnate. He is getting so many chances to really put some damage on Boston's D.

Game 5 is up for grabs. I can't call it.

Agreed. He shot very well tonight from the arch, but the role players got cold because of not enough touches.

Oh yeah, the game is a little easier when Bynum is not playing...LA NEEDS him.

and ron artest isnt down bottom enough

The Key for this game is the bench, energy, and defensive rebounding.

This was a game LA could have won, but what lost it was not the threes, but the offensive rebounds and production from Boston's bench in the 4th quarter.

The game was decided in a 90 second stretch

Ray Allen makes a jumper, and Boston has two straight three point plays they converted - one off a second chance opportunity Nate hits a shot, and Sheed nails a three.

Four of the five plays were by the bench players.

In that same stretch Lamar Odom makes a layup and Kobe draws a foul and hits two free throws, followed by another Lamar Odom 2pter.

That's a 13-6 run that took the game from 64-66 Boston, to 70-79 Boston, with a fresh bench playing hard and Kobe and Gasol having played the entire second half.

It's a tale of energy and effort. Not who took what shot.

But it's much easier adding box scores.

If LA rebounds defensively, and plays with more energy they win.

Give credit to Boston. They took this game.

And it's going to be like that for the rest of the series because the starters are playing crazy minutes in the Finals. Benches for both team are just going to have to play well to give their team an edge

Well said.

Yep. If LA won't have Bynum play 20-25 minutes they essentially have no bench as Lamar Odom is pretty much playing as a starter.

It will give Boston an edge.

In this series there are two quarters that matter. The first quarter and the fourth quarter. Teams will have to rise to the occasion in the fourth. LA did it game 3, Boston game 4.

Kobe has been pretty much playing isolation vs. Tony Allen. That's not going to work in the 4th if he's gassed.

bynum was the reason yall lost in 2008 and it will be the reason yall lose in 2010.

he HAS TO PLAY.

or trade him for BOSH now....he could singlehandedly cost yall a 3 peat.

Big Baby and Nates press conference has me worried about them getting big heads. They need to focus on the next game not act like they got a ring tonight.

T.

the bench showed up like crazy in the 4th...yeah that was definitely the difference in the game and cudos to Doc by making the change and having the confidence in that second squad for the first 9 minutes of the 4th quarter...

off the top of your head (or specifically if you prefer), what were 3 plays where the bench "showed up like crazy".

i liked nate robinson's diving for the ball.

glen davis working on the O boards (in general)

rasheed wallace providing toughness that kevin garnett could not.

You are too young to remember this eewwll  but this kinda reminded me of the '91 bulls when the bench came on and won the game cause jordan and company were playing terribly

i just think Doc left them in too long, this should have the starters a bit more motivated now that Doc has more confidence in the bench

Glen Davis with the offensive rebound and the and1 often Toney allen missed the wide open layup.

Glen Davis with another strong drive where he got fouled by two lakers and he put it in and converted.

Nate with a couple of big scores.

Rasheed with the big 3 to put them up by 9.

Tony Allen was fucking up on offense, but he was forcing Kobe into very tough shots..

just the overall energy and intensity... they played like a title was on the line where the starters never really seemed into it..... the bench was scoring in transition, moving the ball on offense and creating opportunities for teammates... everything... they showed up in that 4th.

Man..this reminded me of the 88-89 Pistons where Vinny Johnson and John would come of the bench and give that instant offense and energy for the team

1990-91 Bulls knocked my Pistons out of the playoffs.... I wish I could forget that.. I was actually at that game at the Palace..

btw... are you sure you have the season right.... that 91 bulls only lost 2 playoff games and Jordan was nasty that year....that was the year they had the 5 game sweep of the Lakers
