*****The Offical CAVS vs CELTICS thread*******

:smh:

Can't wait till OKC comes to age and puts a stop to the same old matchups year in and year out. So glad I didn't grow up in the 80's. Lakers vs Celtics every damn year would've drove me insane.

man that was the best basketball ever

you wouldve loved that shit and i was a huge pistons (zeke) fan back then

but the lakers vs. celtics was cant miss theater

:roflmao: That was a good one!!! :roflmao:

the title boston won in 08 was bullshit since Bynum and Ariza were injured.

We can play this if shit all day

ariza still isnt there and bynum disappears

we shall see what happens

you should get by the suns

boston has another huge mountain to climb though

Dude was more injured than he led on to believe. Just look at the shooting chart, that looks like the shooting line of a lefty with no right moves. No way does a righty miss every shot going right, that shit don't make no type of sense. But some kats who never played ball would not know anything about that!

I GOTTA GIVE IT TO YOU DUDE. YOU'RE RESOLVE IS STEADFAST.

bruh, the dude always plays hard with heart

like in the finals against the spurs this year

he wasnt even that dude out there

he looked like he was doing something he didnt want to do

oh well

These cats don't want to hear logic bruh. When he had four games rest before game three he bust thier ass. I don't think that was a coincedence.

I still hate the fuckin Celtics, I just hated Cleveland fans more for talkin too much shit without basis... The Celtics played theyre asses off the last few weeks, Im not that kinda fan, Ill give credit when its due. The Celticss aint winnin a title though, I was just rooting for them this series. I still hate fuckin Boston to, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend for the time being... Dont worry, Ill be in your next thread about the Magic and the Celtics playin Unkle Rukus, believe that shit!!!

you alright with me Mt. Yukon!!
But you still have to eat your word
that you were talking earlier in the season:D

he was hurt but not too hurt he could play through it he got a triple double so it wasnt that bad of an injury. you can do your in depth analysis and look at the shooting chart and anything and everything you can do instead of looking at the reality of the situation. lebron came to play he did well but not an all time performance the rest of your team was shitty. i did not believe in the cavs at all. and it turns out i was right in this instance. the cavs never got a pg THEY NEVER got one still dont have one so the whole jamison shaq etc, you guys gearing up for orlando but if you'd play orlando same thing would happen cause you have NO PG.

I agree with this, again

This really makes no statement on that. Jordan was the best player in the league well before he actually won a title.

What this shows is this (if anyone can be unbiased)

No matter how great of a player you are (even possibly the greatest in the case of Jordan), you need great management, a good supporting cast, and a great coach to win a title... was no different for Jordan....was no different for Kobe..and wont be any different for Lebron

24 out of the last 25 title teams all had a current or future HOF coach at mimumum and typically two future HOFers

The point is fully healthy. Ariza and bynum being healthy changes the dynamic of the 08 finals.

Having Bynum slides Pau and Odom down. Creates a bigger mismatch at PF and forces the boston d to play a little more honestly. In that series Boston pretty much zoned everyone out and focused on Kobe. With Bynum they have two 7 footers and a 6'10 SF. Paul Pierce would have to guard Odom instead, and there would be a lot more easy plays under the basket.

Sasha Vujacic had to put in some time in that series. With Ariza you barely play Sasha, and Ariza comes strengthens the bench.

Don't think winning the title was a given, because that's how LA fucked up when it came to the Celtics that year.

He got all his points in from the free throws, two left hand lay ups fouls for three points, each, and two three pointers, his assist came when the Celtics did collapse on him (but they adjusted as soon as they say he could not drive to the right) and the rebounds was pure hustle and guts. James had good stats, but his inability to go right, prevented him from making his teammates better and thats what lost it for the Cavs.

lebron is great
he just is not the king. not until he wins a chip

garnett went through it
kobe went through it post shaq
now lebron has to go through it. his legacy is riding on whether he can win a championship or not. i think he'll get one but just not right now.
they wanted it so bad for him too, all the charts and comparisons to jordan putting it all on this season it was just a perfect storm of stuff that didnt work out for him.
he's a great player and i dont throw the word great out there like that but he is one of them just not the best and def not the king.
again i firmly believe that if the cavs kept paul silas this conversation wouldnt be going on because he would have a championship already

To me, this is pretty much Duncan/KG when it comes to Kobe/Lebron.

One puts up a more rounder statline, the other wins.

I think you have to knock Lebron down to 1b for now. When Jordan was considered the best in the league, they were a team still struggling to find an identity, still trying to get better.

Lebron's cavs have had the best record in the nba two straight seasons. The Jordan comparison isn't fully fluid.

Do you see what it's like yet? Do you FINALLY GET IT?

Orlando didn't have Jameer Nelson last year either, so should the that ring get shitted on too?

you still dont get it. the debate isnt whether or not he was going to his left or not. its that we get that and they needed to adjust but they didnt. your team is filled with background singers and none of em could grab the mic. me personally i think that they shouldve fed it to shaq. cant collapse on bron then collapse on shaq and pass out for the open shots. but mike brown cant coach and so there goes the season. #1 seed and now out

I'm not even a Boston fan (although I like a few of their players), but...

...'Bron get the fuck outta Cleveland!!!

Jordan made the big shots or the big plays before Phil got there.

Kobe makes shot that arent humanly possible

Lebron kept giving the rock up to Varejo during crunch time

regardless of what you said, fam

he isnt on the same level as Kobe right now

Kobe can deliver in any situation
Kobe has that killer
Kobe will embarrass his teammates to win

Lebron looked liked he had no passion for the game

you would never see that from Kobe

Kobe grits his teeth because he wants to kill you so bad

he isnt ready yet, E

mo williams had 20 in the first half
22 for the game
:smh:

Boston adjusted, and realize that James was nothing more than a decoy. The fist half they bit more on the bluff and Mo was able to get his spacing for his shots, but in the 2nd half they adjusted and realized that Mo was the only one who can shoot off the dribble so the stayed at home while defending him.

you need great management, a good supporting cast, and a great coach to win a title

/thread.

The team they assembled to get them a championship was an absolute FAIL:

Williams: Good, not great PG

O'Neal: Over the hill big man who doesn't command the attention he did 5-7 years ago

Jamison: Too small to be a PF, a decent shooter but no one that you can count on to drive to the cup or dish to an open man, doesn't like to rebound and is a average defender at best

West: Probably has the most heart on the team, but too inconsistent, too many TO's

This debacle is on Cleveland's management as must as it is the players. The ONLY reason they even beat Chicago was because they shot and three's all series to stretch out close games.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP WITH THESE LAME EXCUSES PLEASE!

THERE WAS NO FIX.

THE PLAY-OFFS ARE NOT THE SAME AS THE REGULAR SEASON.

LEBRON COLLAPSED UNDER PRESSURE.

THE CAVS ORGANIZATION AND TEAM FOLLOWED SUIT.

THE CELTICS ARE A WELL COACHED CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER TEAM. I REPEAT, TEAM. WITH AN OFFICIAL DEFENSE MINDED MENTALITY THE NUCLEUS OF WHICH IS A LION HEARTED HOF PLAYER KNOWN AS KEVIN GARNETT.

RONDO.

AGAIN. RONDO.
