This track is dope, just like "New York" and "Clap Back" were dope for Ja. Those songs got their play, everybody was bumping them, but it was still Ja. So regardless of how big those hits got, they wouldn't be enough for Ja to resurrect his career. Joe's on that status.

Fat Joe was never on Ja status to begin with. He never sold three and four mil. He has one platinum plaque.
Fat Joe makes just makes hit songs, Lean Back, Make It Rain, What's Love that carry his album. Fat Joe selling 200-300,000 on an indie isn't a bad thing, because his career has been about consistency.
Fat Joe has been around for almost 20 years, putting out albums for 17. The Ja comparison was bad. His longevity especially when it comes to putting out a commercial hit is matched by few.
His biggest challenge was surviving Pun's death, 50 wasn't shit.
Clap Back wasn't close to the hit Slow Down has been.

I don't know what it is, but I've never really given Fat Joe a chance. He's had some decent singles, including this one. I don't think he's Ja Rule status tho, it probably has something to do with Big Pun.
