I bet you Portland is rethinking that #1 pick right now, huh. When faced with the #1 pick overall in 2007 the Portland Trailblazers selected...Greg Oden, THE Ohio State University. He has averaged 9.1 points/game in the few games he has played. He has missed 164 games since he was drafted or an average of almost 55 games per year including 61 games in 2009-10. I forgot he was in the league until Mike Wilbon mentioned him on PTI. Kevin Durant has become a star bringing his team back to tie the Lakers 2-2 in the playoffs bringing his team within 2 games of knocking off the defending NBA champions.

But where is Oden? Maybe hanging out with Waldo or better yet, Jimmy Hoffa, because no one has seen him. It is obvious that he was not ready for primetime and would have been much better served staying in college to learn the game. He looks lost when he plays, he disappears in games he is almost as hard to find when he is playing as he is right now. If I don't get a significant response as to his whereabouts I am going to put him on a milk carton.

Shit... I don't think anybody had any reason to believe he was going to have AS MANY injury issues as he has had.

Folks constantly talk about college ball, but if you go to the right school and with the right mentality AND LEARN THE GAME you have a chance at becoming a better player. It couldn't have hurt. Maybe if he would have come out when he should have (I think that would have been this year) he might not have been drafted as high, but with a much better understanding of the game the possibilities are endless versus coming out after only one year and having the mentality of a schoolyard ball player.

if he would have stayed in college, he still would have ended up hurt............and broke.
even if he rehabs successfully.....he has a history of knee problems know. no team in their right mind would risk investing in him.
