A Question For Serious Christians

pimping that whore mother of yours is hard damn work

tricks be complaining and shit

that bitch better act right or guerilla pimping is going down

as for your dumb delusional faggot ass

your first knowledge of any religion comes from the home, idiot

you know what, youre not even smart enough to debate me

at least Constanza challenges me intellectually

fuck, you were raised by random whores while youre dirtbag mother hit that concrete

of course you wouldnt believe in shit......you were born crack addicted, you underweight runt

i bet your sickly as fuck right now

blaming god for all your problems

get over it faggot and make something of yourself

Yea but are you employed as yet>?
look at you trying to be costanza bitch now,man you never stop.

so basically you pick and choose want you to believe in the bible

you believe that god killed millions
yet you dont believe in the talking snakes and other crazy shit in there

you cant have it both ways

either you believe it all or you dont believe it all

i chose the latter

i believe its all bullshit

so therefore non of that shit really happened

peace

I never said God killed millions; I wrote "they've had no problem killing for Christ or Yahweh, historically," they being Christians. It's a reference to the Crusades and other religious wars, as well as killings carried out in the name of Yahweh to take land (which is different from actually being commanded by Yahweh).

The Bible is a wild historical fiction... Not everything in it is completely fictional-- some of the figures existed from what I know-- but it's overwhelmingly false, specifically the most important stuff, the God parts and interaction with a deity. It'd be like if I wrote a history of the American Revolution where God instructs George Washington and tells them the British are coming in place of Paul Revere.

anyone in a religon that answers to a higher power will prolly say yes

people have done worse in the name of jesus...allah...god and budda

I agree with both of you, for the record. I never said I was exempt; I'm just very far from a serious Christian.

And I'm not that familiar with The Book of Revelations, but I assume I would be first on Jesus's shit list if he did come back, regardless...

So then answer your own question then brah.

If Jesus cracked open the sky you would instantly become a theist. On top of that, a historically blasephamous one, making you more desperate to be forgiven.

what if buddah, jesus, allah, krishna, zeus all opened up the skies, what would you join?

Of course. It's an obvious answer and only a coward or a retard wouldn't say yes. It ain't gonna happen but if it did, Jesus is my Lord and Savior and it seems a small price to pay for eternal life and eternal bliss.

Seriously, though, I'd like to think my sense of right and wrong is honed enough that I would defy even an omnipotent being if instructed to do something wrong.

So I don't think I would "sacrifice" or kill my own kid just because some being with infinite power commands it. As far as the original question, I could get through it-- it is disgusting but not immoral-- but, again, I'm smart enough to know it ain't gonna happen.

It would be the greatest episode of Punk'd in history, though... "Richard Dawkins, I am the Lord and this is My command..."

If you were standing in front of a omnipotent that created you and the universe you wouldn't even be able to think for yourself. It's arrogant to think otherwise.

You're right, that comes along with the whole omnipotent thing.

But free will contradicts that notion and if Abraham didn't have free will there's no real sacrifice (and certainly no drama to the decision).

Christians ignore that you can't reconcile the two but I was coming from the perspective of if you put me in Abraham's decision and I actually had a choice... It's not my fault the story doesn't make sense.

Wow, this thread is truly silly.

However I'm going to attempt to answer this question because i'm bored for one and plus I want to see where this thread will end up.

so called "christians" are suppose to live their lives somewhat off the example of the life of Christ and his apostles. That in mind, when Jesus came he didn't just come saying, hey i'm the messiah, this word thats just come out of the blue and left people wondering what he talking about. Jesus was born into a culture, with established mores. He grew amongst the people and he himself read the Torah, the laws and the prophets.

When he came of age, we are told the devil took Jesus to a high place and told him to cast himself down. The devil being a bit smarter than Costanza, used the psalms to further give credence to what he was asking Jesus to do. Cast yourself down for it is written he will give his angels charge over you lest you dash you feet against a stone.

Look now at Jesus reply... IT IS WRITTEN thou shalt not tempt the Lord Thy God.

Jesus took what was already written and dispelled what Satan was asking him to do.

Now the "christian" when asked to do things must consider what is written and also ask God if what is being asked is correct?.

God would not ask man to carry out a homosexual act, because throughout time he has shown his distain for such things, why should it now change?

This question is truly gay, i felt a revulsion answering it. :smh:

Dude said the devil.

like there is an imaginary being running around tempting folks to do things.

man i luv this board.

Why do you call me a hypocrite ? have I instructed anyone on here to do something that I have not done ?

Have I told anyone off out of any religiousity ?

The most judgemental people I see on here are those who claim to have no religion ?

You could also argue that's the reason God doesn't speak directly to man today. Also in the bible no man has actually seen God. Our hypothetical scenerio places man directly in front of God.

So your whole belief system is based on nothing factual, merely faith in the stories men wrote, for their own specific agendas.

Dont get me wrong i do understand how words, can have a specific impact in the way humans think and behave,be it truth or not,as once you accept words without proof as truth, its a whole different ballgame.
