This discussion and OP is interesting. I have been doing a lot of reading about religions and stuff and I have come across some interesting and disturbing information. The thing I have the most problems with is that whenever you ask a Christian questions about faith and the bible, then you become a terrible person. i dont even know where to begin with you. but i'll tell you this, you have totally disappointed me. i thought you were well read, well researched, and would provide something for me to better myself with.

the same Bible that presents Abraham's history also presents the history of those who were following God BEFORE Abraham.

you need to read up on Melchizedek king of Salem, the first priest of God mentioned in the bible, alive some four hundred years before Abraham came on the scene. since you don't know this history, and never heard of it, i don't know how we can have a meaningful discussion about it.

i suggest you then read up on Flavius Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus, and Plinius Secundus, a secular historian, a roman senator, and a roman governor, who all testified of the existence of Jesus and his followers outside of biblical record.

so you understand that Melchizedek was the priest of God before Abraham was established as a follower of God? do you knw the age of Melchizedek when he encountered Abraham? do you understand that by giving tithes to Melchizedek Abraham was subservient to him?
