i have no idea...i keeps all my shits on blank DVDs and i don't download the comics i purchase...it's just somethin' about cracking' a new comicbook open while sippin' on *banana cognac that's pleasing to me.![]()
Those DVD disk are not to reliable. But I know that you buy the hard copies more than you download. The only comics i have purchased in the last 15 years are Spiderman/Obama and Batman and Robin #1. Just because of the cool factor.
I have 40gigs one my laptop and 100 gigs on an external.
But remember everybody:
BACK UP YOUR FILES TO A SECONDARY SOURCE!
These hard drives will crash eventually. I back mine up just like i do my music files.
Sure we could down load them over again but it would be a bitch to track down 5 years worth of digital comics!

Marvel announced today that not only is Thanos coming back in the pages of Guardians of the Galaxy, but he's bringing another cosmic event with him.
In an interview with Marvel.com, Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning talked about The Thanos Imperative: Ignition, a one-shot due in May that will kick off their next cosmic epic.
"The Thanos Imperative: Ignition is a great place to jump aboard and you won't need any prior knowledge," Lanning said. "But if you're a devoted reader, there are rich seams of pay-off to enjoy. The threat of the Fault, a huge rip in time and space left by the War of Kings, is something we've been exploring in the Realm of Kings stories that run into The Thanos Imperative. This is the moment where Magus, a very serious bad guy in his own right, takes control of it and galactic disaster follows! This epic story forms a climax to many of the tales we've been spinning in the cosmic corner of the Marvel Universe for the last three years."
He said that the event will include Nova, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Silver Surfer and Quasar, as well as villains like Magus.

Cosmic business is about to pick up.![]()

Sounds like they are going to fuck up the cosmic game. The moment you start bring characters back from hiatus or death...you automatically cause a 'must read' effect on the fan base.
With the appeals of Marvel cosmic going to the casual reader...this is going to throw many of them off the books.
Marvel is going to make a bad move with this. Watch cosmic books go back into the nothingness they once were.
How out of ideas do you got to be to bring back characters to jump start shit.
In my opinion, you can't really have a cosmic event without one of the most prominent and deadly components present.
Thanos is the pre-eminent villain who's always been lurking on the fringes just waiting for the right moment to unleash his own distinct variety of nihilistic mayhem on the universe.
His re-introduction in to the cosmic maelstrom shouldn't be that suprising or unexpected especially when bearing in mind the fact that the Magus is back himself.
I understand and even share your concerns and can only hope that whoever gets to write and craft this tale does a good job as opposed to relying on lazy storylines and character cliches.
Personally, I can't think of a bad read involving Thanos.

Marvel has a HOST of villains and races they could use. Some of which could be a big and great story.
Thanos is brand recognition which is the ONE and ONLY reason they are going to use him.
Shit a good writer could do a great story with the 'Badoon.' Not only bring them in as a serious threat but even tie them to story lines like '2099' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' volume...
I mean they can do so fucking much with what they go and use more b status characters that would introduce a better air of suspense.
I already know without reading that shit Thanos is going to come in hero-like/villain-like - Save the day and shit will be over and he will have some sort of upper-hand - The end.
So many different Avenues they could take but they are going to go down main street to catch some causal dollars.
Like I said, I share your concerns but I'd like to hope that they can do something unique this time around with a character that I'v really been into since the 1970's Jim Starlin days.

I hear you but you know they aren't going touch his work...which is why his death was so awesome in Annihilation because it completed his character's story arc.

I'm not sure they should have brought Thanos back just yet, and not into the Cosmic Books.
Maybe they should have waited until the Dark Reign was over and They could re-establish guys like The FF, Hulk, Iron Man, Cap, and Thor as world savers as they battled along side the newly empowered cosmic heros.
Then again, i may not be a good idea to mix the Earth bound heros with the cosmic guys.
i'll just wait and see how this goes down.
Pop-Quiz - Comic Geeks
Who is the only other man (humanoid) that DEATH (Marvel) fell in love with?
This answer can not be googled - During the process of selling some issues I stumbled upon and old book and re-read it and had totally forgotten about this.
I will respond in a day or so - Heading out - Peace
But i don't think SHE was in love with him, but I know something happened between the 2.I agree, HAD to be Deadpool....
I have a theory why Thanos comes back. Thanos is part of marvel's cosmic paradigm, like Galactus and Magus, Love and Hate, and the Celestials. He may not come back as a mortal per se but as an emissary of Death.
Ok here's my theory. Remember at the begining of Realms of the Kings when Quasar went into the Fault and ended up in a universe where the heroes were corrupted by those old Chaos gods? I think one of the things those fallen heroes mentioned something about not dying anymore. What if they, or one of those entrophy gods break through into the 616 realm? I'm sure some of the 616's cosmic forces would not be too happy about that.....
That's too DC. I am not saying Marvel won't do that but...too DC.
Let me explain.
Marvel had a break down of their cosmic characters scopes years ago in the 'Marvel Universe Handbooks.'
Death like Mephisto can't just send 'emissary' out into the universe like that. It all has to pass by the High Tribunal, The Watchers, Eternity and Infinity.
This is where the DC part comes in. DC does not have a solid structure to the cosmic realm. At least when it comes to their entities.
So for all those EONS no other evil/false god ever tried to break through and do that shit? NOW, Death needs to act? In the past of Marvel when something threaten 'Death' or threw the universe out of balance...guess who would show up and deal with it?
Death herself. Why would she send an underling when she can wrap up the issue itself.
By the way, Galaticus is an emissary of 'Death', 'Order' and 'Chaos.' Which is why he has so much power.
I thought the In-Betweener acted on the behalf of Lord Order and Master Chaos. And Galactus with in the eqivalent position with Death and Eternity?
No.
Galactus is mortal.
His real name is Galan. He is the last survivor of the previous universe. Galan was chosen by The Phoenix Force of the previous universe to fulfill the role that was missing to keep the universe in balance.
Death and Eternity are aspects of the creator that keep the universe working.
The only OFFICIAL book that Marvel ever released that actually spells out everything is a dated RPG book from the 80's. Even though it's almost word for word what they put in the handbooks during that decade (minus the numbers) it's not technically considered 616.
So, lemme get this straight;
Phoenix is to Galactus as Galactus is to Silver Surfer?
Meaning, in the cosmic hierarchy, the Phoenix Force ranks above Galactus?
Got any references to such?
Also...
What book is this? How can it be official, but not be canon?
