He has no clearly defined powers or definitive skill set and having gods being jobbed out to make him seem like some unstoppable/unbeatable force is just plain ridiculous especially after he had his ass handed to him by the Hulk at the end of the World War Hulk saga.
It just plain reeks of despewration on the part of Marvel to make a irrelevant and much derided character somewhat important in the cosmic scheme of things.

As a fellow comic book enthusiast, I'm sure that you're aware of the fact that there are a lot of fans out there who really detest this character with good reason, and I'd be hard pressed to describe any or all of them of being anything but fans who like to read about well defined characters with compelling backgrounds.
Coipel's art is indeed incredibly good and really fits the visually epic scope of the Siege storyline but that's about all it does.
It makes the shit-pile bearable to look at as the storyline and its inherent inconsistencies really need all the help available to sustain reader interest.
And as regards my "pretty pictures" and "mile marker" shit, I'd assume someone posting on BGOL would be capable of recognizing the rough and ready humour that permeates most of the shit talking that comes with the territory.

I don't read Hulk books but just because the Hulk punches out The Sentry am I to take it that the Sentry is any less powerful? The Hulk punched out the fucking Watcher last year! You're being far too literal about this stuff.
Furthermore, you're basically bitching because the Sentry has been a bad character AND that a writer is trying to fix him and make him into an interesting character. The Sentry was a dumb idea executed dumbly, but in Siege #2, wow, he actually did something that mattered and was fun. So he's a villain now. Oh wait, so I can ignore all that dumb shit both you and I hated in previous issues? That's not desperate; that's good writing.
