This is the scene. I'm having dinner at this restaurant in Soho called Firefly. Husband and I just finished shopping so we're enjoying a nice quiet dinner. This couple walks in and I notice them because the man is loud as hell and chooses to sit next to us in a relatively empty restaurant. So I begin to hear their conversation and I hear all kind of nonsense from the guy that I would've walked out on.

The thing that really caught my attention though, was when she finally noticed he was wearing a wedding ring. She asked him about it and he said I wear this to work. So then he goes into this story which pretty much said, he was married but now he's divorced but he wears the wedding ring at work so that people will know he is a serious professional and so that girls at work won't hit on him.....

My response was:hmm:
My husband's response was :smh:
Ladies...what would your response be??

P.S. I'm not sure if it matters but this is a black man and a white woman.

That was a hell of a line. Got to take notes in case I get married and want to creep with a white woman...well scratch that!

This wouldve been me and my dude...

No man, is going to fake marriage ... im sorry.. its just not going to happen! Being married makes you a serious professions??? B.S

Just because she's white doesn't mean she's not trash. If he is a nigga then so is she, skin color makes no difference when it comes to those kinds of people. The thing is to go to places where they dont' go. Shop in areas too expensive for them to shop in. Live in areas too expensive for them to live in. That's the only way you can get away from niggas.

dude wtf are you talking about?

people say a wedding ring is literally like a pussy magnet.

I have heard people say that too. I know a dude who said soon as he got married, that ring had women all over him. . . .13 years later when he got divorced he still wore the ring and was finally able to get some of that pussy that was being thrown his way

Yeah I know people like that too. Or the super simps who get divorced but still believe their wife is coming back. Or at least that's the simp line they use to make women feel sorry for them.

i have heard that in a corporate atmosphere, those that are married and seen as upstanding family men, are the ones that advance...those that are single, are seen as "non-stable"...so they may not get first consideration...

but it depends from company to company

Dumb play, imho.

But, have to c/s allure of a married man; Wedding weekend got more looks from some women than I had in years of knowing them. Was amazed at how many women I once was interested in came to our wedding [many were never that friendly to my wife before the wedding day].

Really shook by flirts one lady "friend" gave me 1 day after the wedding. Could really rock some houses if I told that to the now ex-wife.

people say a wedding ring is literally like a pussy magnet.

i dont know about that. i never noticed a difference from being single to wearing a wedding ring as to getting "pussy thrown at me".

however that line was epic...

"wears the wedding ring at work so that people will know he is a serious professional and so that girls at work won't hit on him....."

im writing that down in my diary to laugh at it later. lol

:smh: If it was me in your shoes at the other table I woulda just started doing the *cough* *cough* Bullshit, bullshit *cough*

:lol::lol:

Either way, white or black woman, she should have been skeptical about that line...maybe she didn't want to make a scene by not believing what he said OR maybe she bought it...

Either way, if it's true or not, it's a lying ass man...and, who can stand to be with one :smh:

Its bullshit if I ever heard bullshit. Not to mention he kept saying "If I can be honest" or "I'm gonna be honest"...That the biggest tell that you're about to lie.

Here is where you are making a mistake. When people use those it doesn't always mean they are not telling the truth. For instance if I was your husband and I know that is your thinking I would use it to tell you the truth when it's something I think you would be upset about. And when you stop playing or stop lying I say "OK" and leave it at that.

Girl to me "Why you just coming home?" I would put this big smile on my face. "You want the truth or a plauseable lie?"
She "Truth"
Me "Cause I was having sex."
She. "boy don't play with me"
Me. "I had to stay late after work"

both are the truth

If that is the reason dude give for wearing it. It could be the truth. Even if it doesn't make sense but that's his reason. You could examine it close and say if he is married and trying to sneak, why don't he take it off ?

Or you've been lying and now you want to tell the truth ON THIS ONE POINT. After it, you'll go back to lying.

he took her home and fucked her because if she didn't get up through the bull
shit he was talking she probably has esteem issues.

age 30+ crunch time is a bitch i can imagine.

This is true.

How dependent can a single man be for a company versus a married man who has to provide for a family?

When a man has mouths to feed, he will break his back twice in the work place.

This is why some white men get married early (even though they have many mistresses on the side). It's considered a "career move".
