As for the dress code, I'll tell you what my wife (someone who went to med school) told me. In most if not all med schools there isn'[t a dress code when you're in school. However there is a difference between academic setting and a clinical setting. See if Halo was smart he would of made that distinction.
Finally the issue of proving youy a med student or doctor is easy. It can be as easy as taking pics of books like I did or going further.
