Twilight Anyone??

I was just wondering if there were any other Twilight fans here on SOL? In November, I started seeing all these commercials for New Moon so I forced my husband to watch Twilight to see what all the commotion was about. We were immediately enthralled and ran to Bay Plaza to see New Moon. After that I took to the books and became a sort of addict. I read all 4 books in a total of maybe 6 days! I know I may be made fun of but I could care less. Any one else into Twilight?

I haven't seen either one... but I'm curious as to what all the fuss is about too.

I may have to check it out now since y'all were "enthralled" by it and everything.

I just recently started getting into Twilight. Someone bought me the book for my birthday but I didn't start reading it until recently. I'm still reading it off and on. .. I feel like it's kind of predictable since I saw the movie already and it follows the movie like word for word.

I did the enjoy the Twilight movie though. I haven't seen New Moon yet. I'm holding out for a quality bootleg lol.

The whole Twilight saga sucks (pardon the pun) major ass and I'm actually into vampire/werewolf supernatural stuff myself so it's not like I'm hating on the movies or books for the fun of it.

I found the main female lead Bella, to be one of the most annoying characters ever commited to paper and the only vampires I liked in the movie and the books were the trio that interrupted the Cullens baseball game.

Thew Native American werewolves were really cool too.

I actually find the True Blood books and TV series a lot more compelling and enjoyable.

Give those a try.

You may like them.

Peace.

Haven't seen/read Twilight or New Moon...I thought about picking up the book from the bookstore, but thought I should just check it out the public library before I resort to paying for it...

My bf did just recently put me up on Battlestar Gallactica now :D

Haven't made the time to watch all of the seasons yet, but I am eager to see what becomes of everyone...

Check out Fringe if you get a chance.

It's pretty darn good.

It is predictable once you've seen the movies but there are still things in there that are missing from the movie. Good inflections and the such. Try scenereleases.info thats where I got my copy. Continue reading. It gets better. The New Moon book is much better than the movie even though it is the worst of the series. It'll all pay off when you get to Breaking Dawn. It gets crazy in that book can't wait til that movie comes out.

I'm definitely looking into other vampire things now. I have the True Blood audio book but I haven't listened yet. I'm surprised though that you think the series sucks...You read the books right? Bella is the worst character to ever grace the movie screen. She is classic stereotypical woman. She is nothing without a man and that drives me crazy but the overall love story is just beautiful. Plus Jasper is a gangsta and I love any scene he is in. And Victoria is sick! Love her lol.

Jo those books go pretty cheap on eBay. Thats where I got the first two. But what the hell does Battlestar Gallactica have to do with Twilight lol.... Are there vampires on that ship? lol j/k... That show seems too far out there for me. Like Star Trek too much to learn to be able to get into it

The books are actually very sexy! Or you can try this:

I would NOT use sexy to describe the Twilight books, and I have read all of them .. Are they entertaining?? Yes, in a way because once you start you keep reading just to see if its finaaallllyy going to get exciting .. all the Bella droning on and on and on and on and on gets annoying.. I want sex and violence in my vampire series ...

especially since its not enough of a fantasy world to carry on the mindless rambling of Bella..

then i have to remember that these books were written for tweens..

Books were definitely not made for tweens. See StephanieMeyer.com. They were written for women of the author's age group. I consider them sexy because of the sexual tension and general lack of actual sex. I do not need to read an actual sex scene to consider a book sexy. The sexual tension is part of what makes it good. This book is more focused in the emotion of the situation rather than the obvious... Doesn't work for some. Works great for me.

Soo-kie.....

Sorry I couldn't resist. I haven't read the books but I know someone who did and they said that the books were better than Twilight, (they haven't seen New Moon yet). After what I did hear about Twilight though I doubt I will see it any time soon- all that damn romance can kiss my ass. I will however give the books a chance if I can ever finish all of the Easy Rawlins mysteries.

Are you a regular reader of romance novels??? If not, then you're not likely to get it. The series isn't geared towards the blood-and-guts tastes of men.

Blunt, I read all fiction genres and as such, I'm quite able to get the nuances prevalent in romantic fiction as well as give critiques appropriately.

The Twilight series of books are badly written and populated with totally bland and unconvincing characters.

An appreciation of good literary works is not dependent on gender as you should well be aware of.

thread is not about avatar.

Too complicated for you?

The thread's about a pop cultural phenomenon that fulfills its goal of being extremely satisfying to its target audience (and beyond).

Get it?
