Chris Brown's deletes twitter account
Leaves one final message for fans
Day after he unleashed an attack on retailers
Twitter feed can still be viewed here
CHRIS Brown is MechanicalDummy no more, deleting his twitter account just a day after one final twitter tirade accusing American department store Walmart and other major retailers of failing to stock his new album.
Following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus, Brown left one last tweet as he abandoned his 173,000 followers. "I WANNA THANK MY FANS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT. I LOVE YALL. GOODBYE!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The move comes after the embattled R'n'B star claimed retailers were "blackballing" Graffiti, in a series of angry tweets.
"im tired of this s***. major stores r blackballing my cd. not stockin the shelves and lying to costumers. what the f*** do i gotta do…”
He continued: “im not biting my tongue about s*** else… the industry can kiss my ass. WTF… yeah i said it and i aint retracting s***"
While trying to access @MechanicalDummy now returns a "Sorry, that page doesn't exist," Brown's recent tweets can still be viewed here.
The outburst came after the star claimed he had visited a Walmart in Connecticut which failed to have his album available for purchase.
"Just was at Walmart in Wallingford CT, 844 north colony," Brown tweeted Saturday night."The[y] didn't even have my album in the back ... not on shelves, saw for myself."
“and the[y] didn’t even know anything. Wow! But they had Alicia Keys album ready for release for this Tuesday comin’… The manager told me that when there are new releases, its mandatory to put ‘em on the shelves… BUT NO SIGN OF GRAFFITI. BS.”
The outburst prompted Walmart to release a statement reassuring the star that they are in fact stocking his album.
"We are surprised at the comments online," read a statement released by the store.
"All Walmart stores nationwide have carried the CD since its release, including the Wallingford, [Conn.], store mentioned in the post. This store actually sold through its initial shipment over the weekend. The majority of our stores today are showing they do have copies available."
Brown's cancelling of his account is particularly curious, considering he has been one of the most prolific celebrity twitterers of late and he started the day with a normal "good morning" message to his fans.
